Beautiful House in a fabulous location

Clericus Stourbridge
Review Submitted: November 16, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
We enjoyed an absolutely fabulous stay at Board House in the middle of November.
It is a house that that makes you feel welcome , warm and cosy even in a storm.
No detail was left out -from the welcome groceries on arrival, the extermely well appointed bedrooms,a well equiped kitchen,
a brilliant entertainment centre, and even a reception room to chill out away from the tennagers - if required.
Helen is an excellent host - to which we are most gatefull.

PROPERTY 416691 BOARD HOUSE

ONE OF THE TWINS BRIERLEY HILL, WEST MIDLANDS
Review Submitted: November 16, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
We have just had a Family get together at this house, ranging from teenagers to my mum in her 80's. What a fantastic time we all had.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel wellcome. The house had everything to ask for and more. It was lovely and clean.
I had been in contact with the owner via email, and what ever we needed to know or ask she would was there to help.
First class customer service!
( My sister booked the property and made all the transactions. I was just so pleased I wanted to pass this on.)

The photo of the property does not do it justice. When you see it from the front it is decepeptive. It is larger by far once inside.
We self catered and we could find everything we required from the local area.

Its a beautiful area. Great for walking.
All the facilities you may require are avaiable in the house.
A charming Wellcome Pack was left for us. Wine, biscuites, cheese, butter, bread, fruit juice, fresh fruit.
As it was November, we need not worry about being to cold. The heating and hot water provided is second to none. Lovely and cosy.

I would love to keep this property to ourselves, but that would not be fair. I reccomend it to all.

I booked the cottage for my sister's Hen do in October. The pictures do not come close to emphasize how beautiful the cottage is.
Helen was a huge help is organizing the weekend, not only for the accomodations in the house but also arranging a Clay pigeon competition for the Saturday.
We all felt so welcomed and at home here and I hope it won't be last I see of this stunning place. If you are looking for a place to stay for a special occasion, this is it!!

Great house, Great location

Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We are a group of 10 friends aged 22-24 and had an amazing time in this fabulous house. Was a nice break from city life with lovely walks and beautiful views.

The house had everything you would need and many personal touches, such as quirky little books, DVDs for all ages and games.

Helen was friendly and helpful from the start, nothing was too much trouble, she even provided us with fresh local produce including eggs, milk, bread and tomatoes.

We would recommend this place for all ages, families and couples it was a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be going back.

What can I say that will do this house justice? It's decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard, with plenty of beautiful finishing touches. The views from every room in the house are wonderful and the house is a place that makes you feel like you're at home almost immediately. It's also really sound-proofed, so for those who wanted to sleep in, they weren't woken by the children who were too excited to sleep! Nestled between 2 reservoirs, the house is a haven for wildlife and there are some great walks on the door step, many of which are suitable for children (ours ranged fromn 7-12) - even our reluctant walkers!

The house is in a remote location (TIP: ask Helen to email the directions to you) but within 10 minutes drive of Scorton. If you want a get away from it all holiday, this is the place to be. The Lake District, Morecambe and Blackpool are all within 20 - 40 minutes drive too.

As for our hostess, Helen , she was such a huge help - from the moment we booked nothing has been too much trouble - she even rang me with the name and number of a local flowershop, as she was driving past it!

There's nothing bad to say about this house - I'm definitely going to rebook it! Thanks for helping to make my mum's 60th, a birthday to remember.

A perfect place to get away from it all.

When driving to Board House the roads seem to get smaller and smaller, to the point that I began to wonder if I was going in the right direction, persist across the cattle grids though and you will be rewarded!

The setting manages to be beautifully isolated and yet within easy reach of supplies and daytrips. The rooms were lovely and the fantastic barbeque/kitchen facilities were great for preparing (very) fresh fish!

Thanks to Helen and Jeff from the whole party.

Well, where to start. The pictures in the ad looked really good, but being there was just something else. For our last two days in Europe, this was a delight. There were nine of us, (seven kids included) and I swear that each one spent half an hour looking around and enjoying the place. And Hildegard was still saying 'I want to live here' as we left. For the kids, such things as big wall mounted flat screen TV, PS2 and a computer with high speed internet worked.

We were greeted by Helen on arrival, with a fast guided tour and then entrusted to look after the magnificent house. Better yet, the kitchen was stocked with bacon, eggs tomatos, bread, cheese, beer and wine. Heaven.

Fabulous walk over Nicky Nook to Scorton (watch out, don't get lost when you go down the from the resevoir - keep right). And the pub in Scorton was great too.

Thanks Helen and Jeff.

We stayed at Board House for a girlie weekend and all had a fantastic time. The house itself is amazing and is in a beautiful setting with a huge garden. There is the lovely village of Scorton nearby and also the town of Garstang with pubs and restaurants. There is something to do for everyone, lots of places to walk, DVDs and games in the house, bbq and lots of nearby places to visit. Helen (the owner) is lovely and very helpful in planning your stay. Would definatley recommend and would love to go back.

We stayed at Board House for a family get-together. The house is very well maintained with a large garden, ideal for children to play in. There are several walks right on the doorstep including a stroll around the neighbouring reservoir with views right across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District in the distance.
Helen left us a fridge full of the essentials (locally sourced fry-up plus wine and beer), much appreciated and kick started a great stay!
Highly recommended.

We stayed for three nights at Board House and I'd say it was perfect. Helen (the owner) was super helpful, and gave us lots of advice on local attractions.

The house itself is even better than it looks in the photos. It was impeccably clean, and very nicely decorated. It had everything we could possibly need - including internet access, DVD players, even a games console.

The setting is beautiful. Views over the water first thing in the morning are incredible. It feels like you're totally secluded - far from the stresses of city life - yet completely comfortable in a luxury country house.

I honestly can't think of a single negative aspect of our visit. This location is a gem. We'll definitely be back!
