Beautiful very clean and well maintaned property with a nice garden and pool area. It is suitable for children even very young. The owners are very kind and full of attentions without being intrusive, very observant of your privacy.
Nearby there are very good restaurants and cosy villages to visit.
Tha place is perfect between hills full of vinyards and very tasty pate'. we were in 5 (2 elderly, 2 young and one baby) and it was marvellous.
Owner's Response: Luisa, Thanks so much for your kind words, really glad you enjoyed the delights of the Dordogne.

What a lovely place !

If you are looking for a charming, romantic, friendly, tasteful, luxurious and above all authentic place in a magnificent and peaceful surrounding to spend some relaxing days off, I only can strongly recommend Pascale's and Scott's place. The historical "grand" house has been renovated and decorated with fine taste and great respect for its past and history. The interior with spacious rooms breathes the atmosphere of elegance and harmony so typical for old country houses. But this does not mean that there is no "modern" comfort, on the contrary both kitchen and bathrooms are fully equipped. Bergerac is an absolutely lovely little town, with a fantastic market where you can buy vegetables, cheeses, all kind of meat products etc... all produced by the local, absolutely friendly farmers and of course the typical "fois gras".. Also the wider surroundings, including vineyards and castles, do not disappoint. I even had the chance enjoying a couple of bicycle tours.

I had the pleasure already staying a couple of times at this wonderful place, and I am definitely looking forward to the next time !!

Luxury home away from home!

Review Submitted: August 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
What a treat to arrive at this fantastic house after a week in hotels in Normandie! We were two couples staying the last week of July and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the relaxing atmosphere with beautiful weather and lots to do and see. The cottage is extremely comfortable with spacious rooms lovely decorated and with everything you need. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly without being intrusive; they booked tables at superb local restaurants and took us wine tasting which was a treat. We spent our days relaxing by the salt water pool, visiting chateaux, canoeing on the Dordogne river, shopping delicious produce at the market in Bergerac and enjoying candlelit dinners by the pool. A perfect holiday and we will definately be back!

So took my boyfriend and myself over to this beautifully done up house in Bergerac the other week and must admit that we really rather enjoyed ourselves. Great hosts and magical scenery, just a short walk to the very pleasant town of Bergerac, where you can enjoy the greatest of delights of French food and wine!

There lots to do if you feel inclined with wine tasting, chateau visiting and adventurous days out such as canoeing along the Dordogne river, which is literally on the door step! Or not as the case may be... haha.

I'll be sure to book next year and even take another couple out with us, as there was loads of space for us, and the out door terrace and pool is brilliant for the money, with what can normally be expected...

Thanks very much for having us.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the review, we'd be delighted to have you back anytime. Maybe next time you'll find the time to visit Parc en Ciel if you're feeling particularly adventurous and the weather's not too hot! Cheers, Pascale.

Stayed in August 2008, weather superb. Fantastic house in a beautiful and rural setting, although not cut off from local amenties. Bikes rides and canoeing for the boys whilst the girls sat by the pool relaxing! Wonderful hosts who offer all that you need including introductions to local farmers markets and wine sellers//tasting. Great location for seeing the Dordogne area, good restaurants nearby. We took an 8 month old baby and this house was perfect for him. For golfers there is a great course nearby. Easy access from either Bordeaux or Bergerac airports. We hired a car at the airport. Definitely worth a second visit.

French relaxation at it's best

This is a great venue for the archetypal mellow French holiday. The setting is fabulous-a beautifully restored farmhouse on the banks of the Dordogne with a great, safe pool and garden with hosts who will help you make the most of the area. We canoed down the river in the very early morning, went on local bike rides, visited chateaux and had personal wine tasting visits to small local vineyards. We went to farm markets enjoying genuine rural french culture and hospitality on the way.Access is easy from the UK and we flew to Bordeaux which was only an hours simple drive away.

The countryside ,food, wine and shopping mean there is something for everyone .The accomodation was immaculate and the owners welcoming and extremely helpful .The pool and garden were a huge hit with the children and there are wonderful walks along the river Dordogne and canoeing for the more adventurous, we look forward to visiting again.

Pleasures in Bergerac

A beautiful house in a perfect location; within walking distance of Bergerac town, with the Dordogne river at the bottom of the garden. The facilities were most suitable for my family and the week away we had planned; the pool was clean as well as safe for the children and the hosts were extremely accommodating to our specific requirements. Bergerac itself is a delightful place with plenty to do for all the family. Overall, I would recommend the cottage to a family who are longing for a peaceful and relaxing time away.

We stayed here in July 2008 and loved it so much we returned in November with our two year old twins! The property is only 15 minutes drive from Bergerac airport and is set in beautiful countryside. The house is stunning- a beautifully restored mansion backing onto the River Dordogne. The accomodation is spacious, well-equipped, comfortable and tastefully decorated throughout. The owners were perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble attending to our every need and helping us access the many attractions of the area. We would recommend walks, cycle and canoe trips along the river, wine-tasting at Monbazillac and shopping trips to Bergerac market where the local food and wine is, unsurprisingly, superb. We found this property fantastic value for money and we would recommend it to anybody for a relaxing break without hesitation.
