We had a wonderful 2 week stay and were made to feel very welcome by the owners.
We arrived to find a basket of local groceries left by our hosts - most welcome after our long journey.
The cottage more than lived up to its description. We found it to be excellently equipped, clean, spacious, comfortable, private and in a beautiful, unique location with stunning views and easy access to the road network for days out in Bath, Glastonbury, Wales and Cornwall. Our one year old Dog enjoyed the large field to play in. There are some possibilities for safe morning and evening strolls in the over 11 acres of land belonging to box farm with stunning views over the Mendip Hills. It is only a 2 minute drive to Westhay Moor, the 250 acres reserve, perfect for long strolls in beautiful sceneries.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wishing to holiday in the area. Quite the best holiday cottage we have stayed in and we are looking forward to returning.
Owner's Response: Petra and Wolf, what can I say, again, thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I am so pleased you enjoyed your holiday and look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
Regards Eve

On arrival a wonderful selection of groceries had been left by our hosts.Very clean, all modern appliances, very spacious and very comfortable beds all you needed was there and available. It is a good central point for those wishing to explore the local area we used the stay for day trips to the Cotswalds Bath and other points east and South. Very quiet location Will be recommending a stay to any of our friends venturing to this part of the UK .Our dislike was that we didnt spend enough time at the property Thoroughly recommended

We had the pleasure to stay at Vince and Eve's lovely property for a few nights with our two kids (ages 7 and 3) and had an amazing time.

Both Eve and Vince made us feel very welcome and the place was perfect. An ideal blend of country charm and modern design and convenience. We'll recommend it to friends and family and I look forward to going back to see what Vince had planned next! :)

oh... and the beds were VERY comfy!

Myself, my wife and 11 week old daughter have just returned from a 5 day stay at this cottage. Very modern inside and equipped to a high standard but with the character of an old cottage from the outside.

The electronic gates made us feel safe and ideal for anyone with children and so many sights to see from the city of Bristol to little villages close by for a lovely lunch.

We would definately like to return and thank Eve & her family for making us feel so welcome.
Owner's Response: Again, thank you so much for your kind comments and hope to see you again sometime in the future.

Property was as stated, lovely, and with a small enclosed patio area, which was handy as we had a 7mth old dog, who also enjoyed the large field to play in. There was a welcome pack of food which was a nice surprise. The only down side was the front & back doors are very low so if you are over 5'9'' beware! but once inside the height is fine. Also there are no pavements on the roads for approx 2miles so an evening stroll was not really an option. We would love to come back for another relaxing break, & would recommend this to others.

Just returned from a week's stay in this lovely barn conversion. Found the property to be furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Just two of us plus our collie dog, enjoyed many evenings sitting outside enjoying the views over the lovely countryside. Very peaceful and relaxing and blessed with sunny weather, made for very enjoyable week. Owners helpful and friendly. Have already recommended to friends. Would have no hesitation in booking again.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much Debbie, would welcome you and your friends again anytime. Regards

Mackays Cottage; a warm and welcoming retreat.

Perfectly located away from the hussle and bustle but not completely secluded, Mackays is only a short drive from charming quaint towns that embody relaxation and ooze history.

Many an evening can be easily spent just sitting on the patio and taking in the beautiful green panorama and watching the wildlife!

With so much to see and do in the area and a cozy place to come back to in the evening, I would not hesitate to recommend Mackays to anyone.

Thank you for a lovely, safe and comfortable holiday!
Owner's Response: Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it.

A lovely cottage in a wonderful location.

We would highly recommend this property - immaculate and modern with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. There are many nice places nearby to visit and many nice pubs and restaurants in which to eat.

We had a great week in Somerset and would very much like to return in the future.
Owner's Response: Thank you Kim and David for taking the time to write this review. Look forward to seeing you in the future.

This is the first time we have had a holiday in the UK for many years and now we are wondering why. Mackays cottage is absolutely beautiful, the pictures do not do it justice. There is nothing you need that isn't there. Eve provided us with a great welcome pack that was really appreciated. So much to do and not enough time to do it. Sitting on the patio in the evenings with a glass of wine in your hands, looking at the stunning views, is highly recommended!!!!
If cleanliness, privacy, comfort, relaxation is important to you, then you will not find better.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much

We can not speak highly enough of Mackays. A beautiful, top quality cottage in lovely countryside with amazing views. By far, the nicest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Theres nothing quite like getting up in the mornings and watching the deers in the field - wow. There's so much to see, perfect location for touring the whole of the west country.
Five star quality at three star prices. Have already booked for next year.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much, look forward to seeing you next year.
