Eric, Robin & Jiselle are without rivals as hosts! Simply like family!
This villa is spotless, classy, charming, comfortable and romantic with the sun and moon rising over the mountains on our incredible front terrace. Our wood fire warming us at the end of a great day in the cozy living room. All in the shadow of the Zelbio Chapel with the church bells ringing.
The views of lake Como and the snow covered peaks that surround it from our now familiar mountain villages of Nesso, Velesso and Zelbio are breathtaking.
One week in these three villages and we knew all of the restaurant owners and their famous cuisine intimately! The food and the hospitality are to die for, all in the company of kind, decent, and warm local people who treated us like locals!
Switzerland was only 45 minutes by car to the famous town of Lugano. One day round trip by ferry and train to St. Moritz if you like, all from your doorstep.
Shopping and culutre of Como and Milan in 20 minutes and 1 hour respectively! This place has it all! Do it all, or do nothing, as you wish.
We thought the walk to Ponte Di Nesso on the lake to see the old Roman Bridge was worth everyone of the 319 steps down, in the shadow of the 200 foot watefall!
15 minutes by car to Bellagio got us a ferry ride in the shadow of the Alps to Menaggio and Varenna, all three villages on the lake worth seeing, exploring on foort, and dining in!
I guess you can tell by now that we loved it! We hope to be back with family members in tow!

Wonderful Romantic Gisette

The vacation with my wife at Villetta Gisette was very romantic, relaxing and peaceful.
After driving from Germany for many hours, it was very nice to have a warm fire waiting and a bottle of red wine to get us feeling right at home.
The drive through the alps was beautiful. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places in the world. This was our second time to Como but first and many more visits to Villa Gisette. The owners were very kind and helpful and the local restaurants very good. Nice people too.We felt very welcome.
The villa was very clean, very comfortable and mostly very cozy. Just like home.
We visited the outlet stores in Milano at Serravalle where my wife and I did a lot of shopping for Christmas.Great prices with no taxes.
Bellagio and Varenna were very nice and we enjoyed the ferry and the sightseeing. We trekked all over the mountain areas. Just spectacular around Lake Como.
We wanted a peaceful relaxing vacation in the perfect place and it was exactly what we had.

Wonderful vacations in Como

Wonderful villa in mountings at Como lake! It was exactly, what i expected to see - quiet place, "far of it all", amazing forests and wolking passes around full of birds songs, water sound and middle century roads. Villa itself is wonderful as well, i liked the fireplace most of all, but everything else were just great. And the owners - Robin and Eric are wonderful people, very helpfull, very delicate, so you feel very privet, but at the same time feel their care and support if you need it. There are 2 small towns close to villa, where you can find basic things, and not basic (very-very good) restaurant. I would recommend this place very much.

Our holiday at villetta gisette was outstanding. It is a shame that there is not a higher star rating we can give. From the day we arrived the accomodation, views and private location meant that we could really relax. Five minutes away there are some excellent restaurants with some astonishing views of the lake. There is a log fire and the valley can be seen from the bedroom window.
The villa is close to bellagio which is one of the most beautiful places on lake como surrounded by parks and huge historic villas and some quirky shops.
The villa is run extremely well and the owners made us feel very welcome. They even picked up some shopping for us from the supermarket so we could relax straight away. There was a great selection of DVD s and the kitchen is large enough to cook an epic meal if you enjoy that kind of thing. The property was immaculate and in an ideal place for people who enjoy walking.
At the small shop near by we were astonished by the selection of different types of cheese and cured meats.
We left the villa feeling refreshed and wanting to come back again.

Sensational Retreat /Superb Views

I wonderous retreat in the hills. A camelot near the forest. Quaint, private,
cozy, comfortable and warm. Loved roasting the chestnuts we had just picked off of the walking trails to the two villages nearby. We felt so welcome by our lovely hosts, Eric and Robin.
Thank you Eric for the wood fire. It was the perfect touch for a romantic evening after an amazing dinner at the Bella Vista in Veleso.
We can't say enough.
We are already planning our trip back to this perfect spot.

Exceptional Villetta Gisette with fabulous views

Dreamy little romantic villa in a perfect location. Like picking the perfect
little rose. A gem of a find. It was exactly like the pictures on the site and better. We felt so welcome by the owners Eric and Robin who were very helpful every step of the way.
Very cozy, relaxing atmosphere, loved the firplace and views. There was even a soft cozy throw sitting across the couch on arrival, plus fresh flowers and bottle of wine. Not even the expensive hotels do that without charging for everything. Villetta Gisette and its owners were exceptional. The sheets and towels were very soft and inviting. Spotlessly clean. Tastefully decorated by Eric's wife Robin who was a designer for many years. One can see great artistic talent, in her work. Books everywhere, to read and enjoy. New electronics in the villa, my husband's favorite toys. Eric taught us how to use them and offered us wonderful films from his dvd collection.
Jiselle is amazing. Great holiday in Como and Villetta Gisette.
We will reccommend to all we know.

Superior accomodations for a weekly rental apartment. Hosts could not be nicer or more accommodating, First time drive up the hill to the location is a little challenging but you get used to it quickly.

Just back from an incredible holiday....
It is truly wonderful and as beautiful as it looks in the photos...spacious, fantastic facilities and the view from the balcony is wonderful, we never tired of looking out in the evening with a bottle of wine...or two.
We had a great 6 days in the villetta and we were able to explore much of Lake Como from there.
Eric, Robin and Jiselle went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic holiday - they were hospitable, generous, warm and great fun! So a huge thank you to all the family for making our trip extra special.
All in all a magical trip, we hope to return one day. If you are considering a trip to Lake Como, then you will love this place...we did!

Charming Villetta Gisette with Stunning Views.

Villetta Gisette was more than what we had hoped for in a holiday rental.
With everything we needed to make us feel right at home, in our cozy, warm home away from home. Very well kept, top quality accomodations.
Charming well appointed little luxury villetta above Lake Como in the hills. What a beautiful drive up to the villa it was, with nature at it's best.
We saw many birds, foxes, opossums, badgers, boars, deer, squirrels and many other wonderful creatures. Waterfalls, creeks, ponds, gorgeous views over both sides of the valley below. Bellagio, Varenna, Lugano, Bellano and Como. The highlight was going to the boat rental in Lezzano and renting a speed boat to cruise the lake.What a sight Lake Como is from the water. What a tremendous experience. Everyone should do it at least once.
Highly recommended ! One of the best villas on the lake. We are looking forward to returning and staying in Eric and Robin's new property 'Lake Como Beach Resort and luxury townhomes' when they open in May of 2010.
No doubt, they will be as high quality as all their other villas.
Looking forward to diving right in the lake as we are true swimmers.
