INSIDE OUT is not just a simple vacation rental..
You`re going to find something very unexpected in every way.
The PROPERTY is very safe. A beautiful space on top of the hill, overlooking the ocean. The VIEW is awesome, to dream.(maybe to die for, a little.)
Or just to enjoy ,while you`re having a Mojito.
The APARTMENT itself is absolutely clean. It has got many personal details. All the little things that make you feel,it could be yours.
ELLEN and STEWART are wonderful hosts in every way.Very professional ,caring and helpful and lots of fun to be with .
We recommand Ellen`s kitchen for all guests, who love to "eat near by".Great food ,good wine and cool drinks.
The POOL is maybe a little small for swimming, but perfect for "liming".
(You`ll find out..!! )
JUST BRING YOURSELF, FORGET ABOUT THE REST, RELAX, ENJOY ,HAVE FUN.
IT`S LIME -TIME .
We hope to return to Grenada someday.INSIDE OUT will be our first choice.HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD MEMORIES.
Owner's Response: We enjoyed having Dina and Roberto to stay at "Inside Out" and we were very sorry when they left us. A super couple with a huge amount of joie de vivre, they were so pleased with everything.

Thank you for the lovely compliments of "Inside Out" and for my cooking; as always I am very happy to cook for guests and to make them feel good about having chosen to stay here.

Please come back whenever you can, we will always be happy to see you at "Inside Out".

My partner is an SGU medical student and so we stayed at 'Inside Out' from October 1st to 6th 2009 while I was down visiting.

We couldn't have asked for better hosts, a cleaner space, or a nicer view! The apartment has all you need, good closet space, comfortable bed, and well stocked kitchen. We were lucky with wonderful weather so we could maximize our time outside which was the highlight of this apartment for us. Inside was perfect for what we needed it for, showering sleeping and cooking. We really enjoyed the sunsets from the pool, and just relaxing outside in the sun or shade during the day. Ellen and Stewart are wonderful people and are more than happy to provide anything you need to make your stay better. There was one or two nights that an extra fan probably would have been nice, but that being said we only had one of the bedrooms so if someone had rented both then the breeze would be more than enough. They are right on top of the hill which earns the spectacular view and wonderful breezes.

We rented a car which we thought to be essential as we wanted to be able to go to the beach, campus, St Georges etc. If you want a relaxing vacation and happy to just stay at the apartment the whole time then you could do without.

Overall it was a wonderful stay, and I would recommend it to anyone, and would love to return myself! If there is a next time we will definitely arrange for Stewart to take us out for a day of fishing as we learned from that off the coast of Grenada is the best in the Caribbean.
A big thank you again to Ellen and Stewart for their wonderful hospitality!
Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to have these two Canadian students with us - one of them from St. George's University in Grenada.

As always we are more than happy to do all we can to make our guests feel comfortable and good and we are delighted with these lovely compliments.

Thank you very much.
Ellen

Review Submitted: October 3, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Our stay at "Inside Out" was a last minute decision because we had already organised accommodation in Grenada, which proved not to be an acceptable standard. Therefore, we were grateful to have found at short notice the lovely "Inside Out" villa. Luckily it was available and within a couple of hours we were settled and comfortable.

To reiterate all the other reviews, the villa offers wonderful views, comfortable, clean and practical facilities with personal touches which we found to be very good value when comparing with other rentals.

The setting was perfect with the views over Grand Anse which is the main beach on the island.

We also stayed at the villa and did not go out for most of the two week stay because we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the occasional glass of wine with Ellen and Stewart.

Although we had been to the island before, and knew the St Georges area we found Ellen and Stewart's local knowledge and advice to be of great help.

Overall a fantastic holiday, great company, good food and beverages.

We hope to return next year and we thoroughly recommend staying at "Inside Out".

Thanks Ellen and Stewart.

Owner's Response: We are very happy that Allyson and Alf came to us and that they enjoyed their stay at "Inside Out".

Thank you for saying such nice things about us and our accommodation and we naturally are more than happy to see them again as well as all our past guests. We look forward to welcoming many more past and future guests to "Inside Out".

Awesome!

Even though the island of Grenada is exciting and beautiful, we liked staying at the apartment so much that we never left it, apart from going to the beach once. We had a 4 day holiday with 4 girls and enjoyed cooking ourselves, being outside at the pool all day and just sitting on the pool deck to enjoy the great view. It’s remarkable how clean the apartment and even the outside area is – you could probably even eat from the floor! The pool is not huge but also clean, and good to sit in to stay cool while still enjoying the view. Also truly amazing is to sit outside when it’s dark, with all lights turned off, and to look at the stars with your feet in the pool…
The dogs are friendly and quiet, and they keep good watch, at the same time you don’t have to be with them if you don’t want to as they’re staying on the ground floor of the whole complex. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking yourself and even 2 fridges, and we enjoyed eating… right, outside. ? There is no AC but a nice breeze that, together with the fans, keeps everything at a good temperature. The TV works, but we didn’t use it.
Ellen and Stewart are great and sweet people, we had some fun times and good talking. We never felt that anything was about making business, but more that we were staying with friends who just wanted our best (by picking us up and driving us to the beach just like that, by having dinner together one evening and just chatting). Even though they are around and live on the same complex, they leave the whole outside area with pool completely to their guests which is really a bit of a sacrifice, we thought!
Grenada has great people and fruits, so be sure not to miss that. One other great thing is that even if it rains, everything is dry again after 10 minutes! I recommend it to anybody, really. Thank you so much for having us there, we enjoyed it to bits and it will be a great memory for us!
Owner's Response: It was lovely having these four young girls to stay at Inside Out. They were off the ship Logos Hope which anchored in Grenada for two weeks. Their ages ranged between 19 and 23 years and they were super. One Russian, two Germans and an Australian; English was the common language and their good nature, smiles, friendliness and courtesy were unbounded.

We are sorry to see them sail away; they sent us an email to say that they were standing with binoculars on the deck and looking towards our home in the hope of seeing us on the decking.

Bye Girls and Good Luck wherever you go.

Ellen and Stewart

Inside Out Apartments, Grenada

As a single woman visiting the island, I was very grateful for all the information and assistance made available to me by Ellen and Stewart from the moment I touched down in Grenada. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. What made Inside Out stand out were the helpful, personal touches, such as tea, coffee, milk and general foodstuffs in the apartment upon your arrival. The decor is tasteful and there is plenty of room, what with a main bedroom, ensuite shower room and lovely kitchen. The views are stunning and really have to be seen to be believed. There is also a pleasant breeze which can take the edge off the midday sun. You are made to feel very welcome and part of the family and yet have your own space and pool with complete peace and quiet if you feel like being alone. Stewart and Ellen know all the best places to visit (and eat) from the very local (Patrick's) to the haute cuisine of La Luna. However, if you get the offer of Ellen's prawn piri piri, then I highly recommend it. A trip to Carriacou is well-worth what can be a bumpy ferry trip and the beaches on Grenada are breathtaking. I plan to return to Inside Out and would not hesitate to recommend that anyone do the same. Sun, sea, sand, good food and wonderful hosts - I ask you, what more could you want?!
Owner's Response: Can I just say that the lovely remarks from Jacqueline coupled with the enthusiasm which we have received from her and all our guests simply reflects how we feel about everyone who has stayed at "Inside Out".

We enjoy having them with us as much as they like being here.

Thank you
Ellen

Grenada May 2009

We went to this property for 2 weeks on the 27th May 2009.
The property is very well equipped and has everything you need for a self catering holiday, and is clean and well maintained. The pool, although small is a great added bonus to the property. The views are spectacular and the area the property is situated in is very peaceful. The drive up to the property however is not for the faint hearted!! Although you do get used to it after the first day, it is incredibly steep and i recommend hiring a jeep as it is a long walk up and down to the main road!! The property is in a great location for 2 of the main towns on Grenada and is near many good restaurants and beaches.
The owners are very helpful and have good local knowldge and are able to recommend places to go, things to do and places to eat, and they are are able to cook you meals to eat at the property if you give them some notice. They also have their own boat which they charter for fishing trips which we did not do but i am sure would be worthwhile. The owners also have 4 dogs at the property, but they are based downstairs so do not cause any problems and are very friendly animals.
We will be recommending this property and the island to all of our family and friends as it really is a great place to go. The Grenadians are a very friendly bunch.
We recommend Morne Rouge Beach, the Aquarium BBQ on a Sunday, The Beach House restaurant and the hike up to Concord Falls.
Owner's Response: It was a pleasure having Claire-Lou and Ben with us for a fortnight and we were more than happy to help with anything.

We will look forward to welcoming their friends and family and all our other guests.

Thank you, Ellen

Well what can I say, InsideOut has been one of my most memorable hollidays, Stuart and Ellen Smalley were the perfect hosts offering advice on the best places to go and more than that being so inviting into their home that I was relaxed by the first morning of my stay.
I found Grenada one of the warmest places I have visited and at Chez Smalley up on the hill you get a most welcome breeze that takes away the intensity of the midday sun.

The discription of the property did not dissapoint and the facilities were excelent, the room was clean and plesant and Stuart and Ellen were more than happy to help with any request that we could throw at them. All in all I would not hesitate in recomending this property to my friends and infact have done so already (they are going out in October).
If you want you can fill each and every day with something new to do, I have to say though that the Turtle watch is something that will stay with me forever, it was truly a David Atenborough experince I shall never forget, to see the giant leather back turtle (which can grow up to 12 feet long) come ashore and lay her eggs, cover the nest then following the beautiful full moon return to the ocean was a magical experience.
I also had the chance to go fishing with Stuart in deep water which again for me was a fantastic day out as I had never been deep sea fishing before, amazing!!!!!

All in all my two weeks in Greneda with the Smalleys were truly memorable, exciting, relaxing, invigorating and just wonderful. I will stay in touch with them as I will without a doubt be returning soon.

Stuart and Ellen, THANK YOU xxx
Owner's Response: Well, what can I say, we are absolutely thrilled with the enthusiasm and thanks from all our guests. We are more than happy to make everyone feel good because they have chosen to stay with us and isn't it great when you get feed-back like this.

Thank you to all our guests past, present and future.

Room with a View.......and what a view!

Review Submitted: June 2, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
We went to stay at the Inside Out Apartments in February this year and what a lovely week we had.

Set high on the hills above St. George's, the apartments are owned and run by Stuart and Ellen and what a view.....
you can see for miles.

The two apartments are not suitable for children (what a blessing) and share a well equipped kitchen. One has a double bed and the other twin beds. Both have shower rooms where the showers work effeciently and not just dribble! The rooms are comfortable and well organised. They are well decorated in warm carribean colours and despite no air con. the fans and the breeze kept us wonderfully cool.

Outside on the terrace is a collection of comfortable sun chairs and loungers, a hammock and an infinity plunge pool.

This is not a place to come to if you want constant communication with the outside world. There is internet access but not in the apartments - this is a place to come to for total relaxation, comfort and anonimity.

Ellen and Stuart are very welcoming hosts. Ellen is happy a very good cook and is happy to be involved with your catering, she is however just as happy not to be - the kitchen allows you to cook as much or as little as you wish, there is also a very good selection of lovely restaurants on the island if you wan to eat out.
Car hire is essential, and the ability to walk up a number of stairs to your apartments also a must.

If you are looking for a small private comfortable self catering holiday apartment then look no further.
Owner's Response: How nice; needless to say we are more than happy that our guests are so pleased with "Inside Out". We want people to feel they have made the right choice to stay with us and we take on board all comments.

Preparing meals for our guests is not a job for me but a wonderful and creative way to spend my time.

Fab, relaxing time at Inside Out

Huntress Grays, Essex, England
Review Submitted: May 22, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Upon arriving at Inside Out, we were warmly greeted by Stuart and Ellie. The guest accommodation is brand new (as is the whole property) and consists of 2 bedrooms with en-suite shower in each with a kitchen in the middle which has everything you could possibly need. Although there is no a/c, there are fans in each room and as the property is up in the hills, there is a nice breeze which keeps the temperature nice and cool at night. From exiting the guest accommodation, you are greeted by an excellent outside living area which consists of large terraces and swimming pool with fantastic panoramic views of Gran Anse Beach. There are plenty of places to eat and drink although Ellie is a fabulous cook and can provide meals upon request. The Island is very safe and the locals very friendly so it is perfectly fine to walk around soaking up the caribbean atmosphere. We would definitely recommend Inside Out to friends and family as Stuart and Ellie made us feel so welcome and the accommodation is spotless and very reasonably priced.
Owner's Response: We are very pleased that Michelle and Neil enjoyed their stay at "Inside Out" and we look forward to welcoming other guests who will have a lovely vacation on our beautiful island.

We get tremendous pleasure knowing we are doing all we can for everyone and it is an added bonus to prepare meals which are so enjoyed.

Come and share some good times in Grenada and in our lovely "Inside Out"

Our Stay Inside Out

jools and jan london/durham
Review Submitted: May 20, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Located on the top of a hill with fabulous views across Grand Anse Beach and the lush vegetation of Grenada. The accommodation could not really be described as an 'apartment', an accurate description would be bedsit. The room we had access to was very clean and tastefully furnished, comprising of a built in wardrobe and two single beds and a tv on a very low table which made it difficult to watch unless we lay on our fronts on the beds!.
(Would be an improvement to put on a chest of drawers to provide more storage and better viewing) However, the room was pretty and the beds were comfortable and after all we had not gone to Grenada to watch TV!! The kitchen was well appointed and adequate for snacks and simple cooking. We spent a lot of time sidling around each other to get to the shower and toilet which was clean but again cramped however the shower was roomy .
Everything was cleaned and tidied for us on a daily basis.
Ellen and Stuart were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, they helped us get provisions on our arrival and very good at helping us arrange trips out, offering to pick us up from town or give us lifts if they were going into town, we also enjoyed an excellent home cooked curry lunch on Sunday at a small extra charge. We wish we had thought of asking for breakfast everyday!!! We enjoyed trips around the island with Cat-eye's tours and Henry's Tours and a couple of boat trips to snorkel and picnic on other small islands, the highlight was seeing the Leatherback Turtles lay their eggs at Levera Beach.
Owner's Response: we are delighted that jools and jan enjoyed their stay in our lovely island of grenada. we were very happy to help out with tips and advice especially for their trips and activities and always do this for our guests.

we do of course believe that our inside out apartments are much more than a bedsit. We offer two bedrooms both en suite, a separate kitchen, plus extensive outside facilities like dining tables and chairs, recliners, a pool and a pool deck which all adds up to very much more than a bedsit.

we might add that both the televisions can be viewed from a sitting position. Also that the kitchen is full-size and fully-equipped for cooking normal meals for one or two couples or a family.

please do come and see for yourself.

best regards ellen
