This is a nice place to stay. The villa has everything you need and have a modern kitchen with a lot of equipment. The rest of the villa gives enough space and bedrooms on two floors. Friendly and helpful manager and neighbours so you cannot get lost or wondering where to switch on or off all the gadgets. Even a house manual with interesting tips is provited. Just be aware that you need a car to nearly everything, but the landscape is worth it.

Casa Fiji is a Fantastic private villa & pool with stunning lake & mountain views
"The above description does not give this place justice - you need to see it to believe it! Casa Fiji was the PERFECT getaway
We have just had a relaxing two week break at Casa Fiji. The Villa is set in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Vinuella, which has an overwhelming aura of relaxation about it, with the most spectacular and stunning views that never look same twice no matter what time of day it is. The ideal location to get away from it all.
This truly excellent Villa, with Air Conditioning Units in all rooms, is extremely clean and is well maintained, sits in such a lovely setting and has everything you could possibly need, as the owners have thought of everything. The information manual they provide was very informative, with emergency numbers, helpful hints, places of interest, etc.
There is plenty of outdoor seating around the villa, whether you want to enjoy a drink by the lovely private pool, a BBQ on the side patio overlooking the beautiful lake or just enjoy the scenery from the front patio area overlooking the garden and lake.
The luxury kitchen has everything you would every need to prepare your own meals or should you decide to dine out, there are many excellent restaurants in the surrounding local villages. One we recommend you try is Cantueso in Periana.
A drive through the mountains and round the lake is well worth the taking. Definately a more traditional experience than that of the other side of Malaga.
The neighbours and locals were all very helpful and were only too willing to recommend the best restuarants around.

We have no trouble in recommending a stay at Casa Fiji to all our friends as we will certainly be going back.

The above description does not give this place justice - you need to see it to believe it! Casa Fiji was the PERFECT April getaway for me and my colleagues! The breathtaking views of the olive orchards, crystal blue Lake Vinuela and high peaking Sierra Tejada from the wide glass curtains were the perfect start to the morning and it was amazing to watch the lake and mountains change colours throughout the course day. There were plenty of old scenic roads surrounding the villa (perfect for a daily drive), a maket and plenty of fresh fruit stands just down from the Villa, delicious tapas restaurants in close vicinity and even the ocean (including Nerja and other must-see locations) were only a stones-throw away. The pool (again overlooking the lake and mountains) was meticulously well-kept and the tropical vegetation and desert scrub surround the pool and villa was superb. The luxury kitchen was perfect for preparing large meals with goregous Denby plates and crystal wine glasses; however, we spent more time cooking outside on the large 4 burner + side burner BBQ and eating on one of the FIVE patio spaces available. I would recommend this place for any family, couple (or group of couples) looking for a perfect Spanish getaway in close proximity to but without the typical urban stresses and headaches of staying directly in Malaga or Marbella. I easily give it five stars!!! My friends and I will be back!!!

Spanish Paradise

I was fortunate enough to find this fabulous villa in Los Romanes, which I would highly recommend to anyone interested in experiencing the best that Spanish life has to offer. The villa itself was immaculate with a picturesque view of the mountains and Lake Vinuela. I found it to be the perfect balance by allowing easy access to Malaga and other towns along the Costa del Sol, while also providing a more rural experience far from the tourist masses.

The villa was clean, breezy, and the pool was spectacular. I was particularly impressed with the beautiful view and the excellent amenities available to us during our stay. Everything was in perfect working order and made us feel right at home. In addition, there were great areas to hike and run and the only thing I regret was not having the foresight to bring my bike, as cycling would have been fantastic.

I also appreciated the proximity to numerous great restaurants and the neighbors were extremely friendly and resourceful, giving me and my travel companions tips on attractions, shopping centers and restaurants to try. The fact that many of the locals and neighbors spoke English was also extremely helpful.

Whether you are looking for a tranquil getaway or an activity packed vacation, Casa Fiji will provide you with the opportunity to try either. I would highly recommend Los Romanes for anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Costa del Sol and for those wanting a little luxury along the way, Casa Fiji is unparalleled. I hope I will have the opportunity to return!

Beautiful Lake/Mountain View Villa

Review Submitted: June 2, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My finacee and I had the opportunity to stay in Los Romanes in this beautiful villa for a week this past Easter break. The villa is loacted in the picturesque area of Los Romanes with an amazing view of both Lake Vinuela and it's surrounding mountains. The villa was fully equipped and surpassed our very high expectations of this property. The villa was extremely clean, had breathtaking views of the region and was very comfortable. Off the back of the property is a great sized pool and sunning area which both fiancee and I used on a daily basis. Moreover, the area is very quiet and the neighbours were lovely.
The villa is located very near a variety of restaurants and shopping areas. We had the opportunity to sample many local specialties but also regularly cooked in the fully stocked kitchen in the villa. The villa is also an approximately 20 minute drive from the coast and a short drive to Malaga which made airport transfers very easy.
Overall, both my finacee and I would highly recommend this villa to everyone and we both hope to visit this area and the villa again in the near future.

Lake Vinuela

We found the villa to be immaculately presented internally and externally .It was accurately described and surpassed our expectations . All appliances were modern and in good working order . The pool and all external areas were sparkling clean and the outdoor furniture was comfortable and abundant . The views from the villa out over the lake across to the mountains provided an ever changing vista depending on the weather and the time of day . In the evening it was like a fairyland of lights as otherwise invisible villages came to life . The villa is within easy travelling distance to a wide variety of attractions that would accommodate the interests of all age groups . We visited Nerja Caves , Gibraltar , Granada , Torre del Mar Ronda , Coin , Zalia and many pretty mountain villages , each with its own special character. As it was our first visit to Spain we were keen to experience as much of the culture and history as possible. The position of the villa enabled us to live in a small village in the mountains of Spain [if only for two weeks] and integrate ourselves into the local culture of dining out, shopping in community Supermercardos, observe the daily rituals of village living such as the goatherder passing along the edge of the lake each afternoon and watching the local "cowboys" tie their horses up at the hitching rail of the local bar. I swam in the pool at the villa daily and warmed up on a lounge by the pool each afternoon soaking up the last of the suns' rays with a drink in one hand and a book in the other. All inclusions were as described and easy to operate. TV reception was excellent and the operating instructions easy to follow for all connected appliances. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa to any couple, group or family wanting to have a relaxed or active holiday in Spain. A car is essential and we hired ours in Malaga. The map instructions provided to get from the airport to the villa were accurate and easy to follow. Although we live in Australia and Spain is a long way away our experience at Lake Vinuela was so enjoyable that we would make the trek again. We hope your experience will be as wonderful.
