A family cottage in quiet surroundings.

We enjoyed a splendid week at Farthings. The cottage really felt like a home for our stay, comfortable and well equipped.

The location is very quiet with a network of lovely footpaths to enjoy and of course one of the best beaches just a short walk away. There are shops at East Wittering and Chichester is very close-by.

We put the garden and pool to good use even in October and both are kept in pristine condition. We also had a family get together which was very successful with many compliments about the cottage.

If you need to connect a mac to the WiFi you may have difficulties but there is a laptop provided which we found useful. Also our two year old set off the alarm one day which was funny 'afterwards!' so be careful to keep little fingers away from the panic buttons.

Overall we had a really great time would love to go back and have no hesitation to recommend this beautiful cottage.

We rented the house with 3 young children and had a wonderful time.
House and pool fantastic. Although pool not completely fence so need to be careful with non swimmers. House very comfortable and well equipped but might want to take plastic wear for young children. Would definately rent again.

Charming cottage

We fell in love with Farthings the moment we drove down Pound Lane. It is idyllically located, in a quiet lane, beach is literally 5/10 mins away walking. Lovely gastropub round the corner, fun surfer dudette shop, beach house cafe, corner shop (that's the extent of the 'village'). The cottage is very homely, feels lived in rather than an empty rental shell. Garden is big for kids to play in and the pool ...what can i say, at 28C even the most sceptical were enthusiastic. Highly recommend Fathings and will be coming back.

Great holiday location

We had a great couple of weeks in this lovely cottage, which is well appointed and comfortably accommodated five of us. We were fortunate with the weather, but having the pool at the house was a great alternative when the sun failed to appear. On the cooler evenings we gathered around the beautiful open fire in the lounge. The location is great, very peaceful, and is a perfect base for bike-riding and walking. The local amenities are good. We will definitely be making another booking, subject to availability of course!

A Lovely Week

Review Submitted: July 16, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent a lovely week at this charming cottage. The heated swimming pool is a fantastic luxury. My children spent most of the week in the pool and it is lovely and sheltered. Thoughtful touches by owner to supply laptop, croquet and jenga for our use. Only negative would be that the dining arrangements were a bit cramped in the conservatory and the separate dining room room/table was not suitable for small children. However the cottage was so perfect would not hesitate to go again or recommend it.

The cottage and the area were perfect, the beach was beautiful! There was even a nice cafe near by for lazy 'no cooking' evenings.

The cottage was very well equipped and newly decorated not to mention quite spacious. I highly recommend this holiday rental to anyone.

The heated pool was a gem and we spent so much time in it with the children, it couldn't be more perfect! (like a warm bath).

The perfect seaside getaway

Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We had an absolutely wonderful stay in West Wittering - the house was in very good condition and had every ammenity you'd ever need. The pool was an added bonus and very child friendly and most importantly, warm! Just a stone's throw from the huge sandy beaches of West Wittering, this really is a perfect house for a family holiday. We were 2 families with 3 small children between us and the house was just the perfect size. We can't wait to go back again.
