Brought my extended family - 6 adults and 3 small children. Home is lovely and well-kept. Pool was bigger than we expected. We enjoyed using the tennis facilities, as well as dining at the Marriott. Driving around the area was quite scenic and a lot of fun -- Peniche, Obidos, and the Lagoon were highlights.

For little kids there is a small playground 10 min. walk away, and of course the pool and the beach.

Concierge at the Marriott was wonderfully helpful even though we weren't staying there.

Minor complaints - water pressure allows only one shower at a time, no internet access (but it's free at the tennis center - 5 minute walk away). Only 1 ice tray in the freezer (we bought another). No blender. No apparent way to recycle on the resort - odd.

Lastly - on your drive from Lisbon airport MAKE SURE YOU GET A TOLL ROAD TICKET. Price with ticket - 4.55 euros, price without - 50 euros.

Would highly recommend both this villa and the Praia del Rey resort. The villa is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. It is set in an attractive garden in the peaceful resort.

Praia del Rey proved to be a great base for our holiday. On the resort is a choice of fabulous sandy beaches, large pine forests for shady walks and golf and tennis for the more energetic. Nearby there is great surfing, windsurfing and sailing as well as the historical walled town of Obidos.

After searching many websites looking for a villa to accomodate three couples, we were very fortunate to come across this luxury four bebroom villa. The photos on the website attracted us straight away to this property: located close to the breath-taking Atlantic coast, the beautiful and safe Obidos lagoon, and the impressive fort town of Obidos, the property and location far exceeded our expectations.

The propety was clean, well maintained and exceptionally well-furnished. The British (Welsh!) cleaner was very helpful, extemely friendly and very accomodating.
Located within the Marriot resort, we were able use the on-site facilities including the conveniently placed local-shop, and various sporting activities, though we often settled for quiet nights in cooking on the BBQ and lazing by the pool!

Obidos was the closet town (15 minutes drive) and is a must see. Perferctly preserved we recommend taking an hour to walk the fortress walls followed by a Ginjinha in a local tavern. There are lots of quaint stores selling local pottery. There is also a very reasonably priced supermarket on the outskirts of town with a wide selection of produce. If you like fish, do visit Peniche. There a multitude of fish restaurants serving all-manner of fish dishes, freshly caught and reasonobaly priced. Though the fishing-town is asthetically limited, the food is very good. We made several trips to Lisbon which is easily accessable on the toll-roads. 1 hours drive. Also there are numerous vine yards to visit. In particular we were very impressed by the professionalism and hospitality of the staff at Quinta do Casal Branco in Almeirim. Excellent wine and very well priced. Again, a must-see.

The owner was professional, organised and very approachable from begining to end. He was able to provide us with detailed information when requested in a timely and efficient manner. The property we rented was perfect and exceeded our expectations: 5-star! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Portugal and would whole-heartidly recommend this property and location for family or group holiday makers.
