Million dollar view

Review Submitted: June 18, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Patricia and I had a wonderful time at your villa. The view and surf sounds were great. The pool water was warm and clean. The pictures on the internet don't do the villa justice. The beach was nice and the snorkeling good. We will be coming back. We will recommend the villa to friends. Valarie was a great help. She told us about the city market, and who to ask for to get special prices. She also recommended restaurants and grocery stores. One last thing, can you send us Valaries e-mail address so we can thank her again for being so helpful.

My vacation in paradise

'Curly' London, England
Review Submitted: November 3, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Heron's Flight Villa was an excellent choice for my long awaited vacation. The villa is located in a truly upscale area of Grenada, just 15 minutes away from world famous Grand Anse. Heron's Flight is a very peaceful place. I loved the tranquillity, simplicity, and amazing views. The Villa has a brilliant architectural design - semi open areas allow nature to blend and create an unusual climate. I have stayed in the "Blue Room", with a spectacular view of Westerhall peninsular and the ocean. The room was spacious - very clean and comfortable. The king size bed ensured a good night's sleep, along with falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. Good quality linens and towels was definitely a nice touch. The outside living/entertainment area was also comfortable with a cosy swimming pool surrounded with colourful plants and flowers. You can lay there on a comfortable cushioned chase long and enjoy splendid view and refreshing ocean breeze. I especially loved my afternoon naps in the hammock in the shade of the gazebo. The small, black sand beach below the garden is just perfect for an easy swim - and pretty good snorkelling too.
The property of Heron's Flight is spacious and very well maintained. There are lots of birds, including hummingbirds, and butterflies, feeding on bougainvilleas and oleanders. During my stay, I enjoyed fresh mangoes from the garden, and even made my own lime squash with limes right from the trees!
I was thrilled to see the kitchen was so well equipped, with good quality pots and pans, nice dishes and all the tools - even a coffee grinder and French press. And the internet never failed.
I appreciated the serenity of Heron's Flight, and the unlimited privacy and affordability.
Having a car was very helpful for exploring this beautiful island, and the owner helped me with that.
All in all, Heron's Flight is a very magic, relaxing place to spend a holiday. It is a real home away from home, where you can have a morning coffee on a patio still in your pyjamas... I would recommend Heron's Flight to anyone who is looking for tranquillity and quality and appreciate privacy.

We came to Heron's Flight ,Grenada to slowing down, sailing and diving. We are family of four, including to early teenage girls. At Heron's Flight, we appreciated the view, private pool, private master bedroom, cranking reggae music on CD player and excellent housekeeping. We enjoyed here many activitiesand most of them were : SVG flight to Carriacou and sailung to Pettit Saint Vincent and Pettit Martinique,Belmont Estate tour, diving with Aquanauts and dinning at La Sagesse and Le Phare Blue. As of tips for future Guests... just drive careful.Enjoy your private beach.
Heron's Flight has the best view around and Valarie, the manager is just great.
We will have lon lasting memories of Family time at Heron's Flight.

Return Trip

We just had a secong holiday at this property with our three children - 1 - 7 yrs. It is a lovley villa - the only negative thing I would say is that the beach is not really a beach that you would want to swim from with kids - it is very small and unappealing - there are many lovely beaches within a short drive though.
Other than that we had a lovely relaxing time and would consider it again in the future . Thanks Zofia and Gillian - you looked after us very well.
Owner's Response: It was really great to have you again for vacation at Heron's Flight. Sorry you didnt find our Boule Beach appealing. It is a real beach, just small, black sand. It is very calm beach ,however it might loose in competition with Grand Anse and the other many beautifull beaches in Grenada .

Serenity

VinWood Birmingham, UK
Review Submitted: August 25, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
As two men vacationing in the caribbean, a warm welcome isn't always guaranteed. However, any concerns we had were allayed with some reassurance from Zofia, the owner. She was also generally helpful, giving useful tips on eating out, things to do, as well as arranging for us to have some basic provisions in the villa on our arrival. Jerry also called after we arrived to make sure that all was well with us.
On arrival at the villa we were met by Valerie, the manager. She was charming and delightful. We knew instantly that we were going to have a wonderful stay at the villa. She showed us around the property and explained exactly what she thought we should know regarding the overall operation of things. We settled in and immediately felt at home. The next day Valerie called to check on us and we arranged to have her shop and prepare dinner for us for a night later in the week. We invited her to join us for dinner and she accepted our invitation. What a marvelous evening we had! She cooked us a delicous local meal and regaled us with stories about the island.
The view of the sea from the Blue Room was spectacular. We had breakfast each morning on the veranda and loved the swishing of the trees around the house, accompanied by the sound of mangoes dropping on the roof as we sipped our coffee (grab one before the birds do).
Another daily ritual was drinks by the pool in the evening before we went to dinner. Staring at the sea, the lovely plants and flowers that surrounded the property helped to create the kind of vacation that we all dream of having in the tropics.
Heron's Flight is appropriately named. We enjoyed the heron flying by and it's beauty was only surpassed by our tranquil state of mind which was acquired during our stay.

Restaurants were easily accessible and quite good but, do give Patrick's a miss. If you are seeking good Grenadian food - BB's Crabback down by the Carenage is far more likely to please. A rental car is a definite must although driving at night takes a little getting used to. If something more upscale appeals, then Le Phare Bleu is excellent for great food (loved the locally made goats cheese salad) and you can't fail to enjoy a coffee after your meal served on the top deck in the balmy breeze while admiring the stars.
Grenada is now at the top of our list of island spots having nudged Barbados into second place. This means a revisit soon to Grenada and this also means a revisit to Heron's Flight.

Weather complemented the beautiful ocean view

When I arrived last week, I was very impressed by the accomodations. The website accurately described the accomodations and there was more.

The property was well-kempt and the staff was very considerate. I especially loved the fact that the villa was in a private-gated community, but close to Town.

Further, the owner is very considerate and if there were any issues, I could always count on her for her help via email. The manager was well-versed about the Island and knew all the hot-spots.

You can go to the seculded beaches or hiking in the rainforests; And I did diving and loved it! For those who do not dive, there is snorkling available from the villa's beach or watersports (located at different areas around the Island).

If you can go to the North Shore, there is a wonderful restaurant at the Petit Anse resort with the best food--highly recommended.

There is much to do on the Island--you will never be bored! This is a highly-recommended property, especially for couples and even families with children.

Honeymoon Holiday

K and J Newly Weds Arlington, Virginia, USA
Review Submitted: June 29, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Heron's Flight was an excellent villa to stay at. We stayed there recently for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. The villa was very beautiful, accomdating, private, and met all our needs, most days we just stayed at the villa and relaxed. But there were plenty of activites available outside of the villa and we did choose to do a few.
The villa description was very accurate, although the pictures do not fully capture the beauty. The villa is built into the side of a hill so each bedroom has its own ocean view and access to the refreshing breeze (all the bedrooms are air conditioned). The kitchen was well equipped and the living room/dining area has plenty of entertainmnt - tv, dvd player, radio, games, book, magazines. The villa also had snorkel masks and fins to use at the small beach at the bottom of the hill.
The villa staff really helped make our stay easy. We rented a car from Marcus and he met us at the airport and drove us to the villa - a car and a good map were essential!. A housekeeper came every other day (or as often as you like) to do dishes, laundry, fold clothes, and just tidy up. The woman in charge of the house let us in, showed us around, helped us make dinner reservations, and provided maps and advice for travelling around.
While the pool and beach close by were so great, we did venture out to some other activities. Grand Anse Beach is a must see. We dinned at the Aquarium, the Beach House, and the Dodgy Dock, all with great food and atmosphere, and on the beach! We also drove around the island - a 3 to 4 hour extursion, and saw a waterfal and Leaper's Hill on the northern shore. We also had a tour of the Clarke's Court Distillary. Everyone we met was extrmely nice and helpful and we would recommend all of those activities. We visited in May which is not a busy tourist time of year, so some places were not open and other places we were the only visitors. That was completely fine for us, bu the locals said it is much busier September through April.
Heron's Flight was the perfect vacation spot for us. The owner was extremely helpful with helping us plan the details of our stay. This was our first vacation out of the country and she helped us prepare for customs and travel in another country. We felt very relaxed with our travels. The owner also helped us select dinner reservations and our activities. We certainly recommend Heron's Flight to anyone and we cannot wait to go back.
