What a great "Little Place!"

Alden New Orleans, Louisiana
Review Submitted: November 9, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My husband and I spent almost 2 weeks here in October 2009 and we found it very thoughtfully equipped and laid out. Bob was helpful both before we went and while we were there by email.

My husband did a lot of work in the computer room with his laptop while I would sit on the loveseat just outside his window and read.

It think it would be too small for 4 people but for a couple it was just right - we each had a comfy bed in the main room when snoring was an issue, for example.

We like to buy local ingredients and cook and found the kitchen very well-equipped and loved eating at the table on the sunporch with the glass door open to hear the clinking of the rigging of the sailboats. They have another small fridge out there - great place for wine and drinks.

We have rented in France several times - never have people been as helpful or a place so thoughtfully furnished - even a hairdryer in its own cradle in the bathroom. Their notes and directions were very helpful too.

merci beaucoup,

Jean M.

Excellent facilities and location

My wife and I stayed here in early September and had a great week. The apartment is equipped to a high standard, with lots of thoughtful touches one wouldn't normally expect from a holiday rental, like bikes, towels, connected laptop, and comfortable beds! The location couldn't be better; harbour, beaches and mountains on the doorstep. The harbour view is wonderful, and the balcony is a great place to people-watch and relax in the evening.

Bob was a pleasure to deal with. Excellent communications from my initial enquiry through to when we got home. I really felt that Bob would do anything he possibly could to ensure that we enjoyed our stay.

The only disappointing aspect, very much outside the owners' control, in that the main drag in Argeles (plage area) is quite tacky - lots of similar bars and restaurants, with little atmosphere. The port area, however, has class and atmosphere in abundance. You'll pay a bit more to eat out in the port, but the standard of food and the views make it so worthwhile. Particularly good was the Abalounge (last bar on right as you look out of apartment). We found it a really chilled-out place for a drink and a great place to eat. Only a small menu, but they use fresh local ingredients and everything is prepared and cooked on the premises to a high standard. And the staff there were really friendly, which is something that was missing in many other places we visited.

I'd recommend this apartment - and the location - to anyone. Personally, I'd find the apartment a bit cramped for 4 people - you'd really need to know you got on with the others! But for a couple or a family you'd find the place hard to beat for comfort, facilities, owners, and location.

My Fiancee and I have just returned from a wonderful 1 week break at this beautiful apartment. Before we even started the holiday Bob was fantastic with answering all our questions about the area and apartment and how best to travel to and from the apartment.

The one thing We really do want to mention is that the pictures do not do the place justice the view is breath taking from the apartment and the whole area is amazing.

You can make your holiday in Port Argeles as relaxing or adventerous as you want Absolutly Perfect!!!!

Our Holiday

We are a group of four friends, and we stayed in this apartment for one week. The port with its bars and restaurants was beautiful, so was the beach. We arrived by car, so it was easy to explore the region: Coullioure, Argeles sur Mer, The Pyrenees and Barcelona. The place is excellent if you want to have a holiday which includes relaxing at the beach at the one hand, and some action at the other hand. We went rafting and canyoning ourselves, but you can also go canoeing, diving or go for a mountain bike ride. In short, the comfort of the apartment, together with the location right in the center of the port and close to The Pyrenees, made it a wonderful holiday.

The Perfect place to stay!

Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Our family of two adults and two teenage kids had a fantastic time in Argeles. The apartment was ideal, with lots of attractions right on our doorstep. We went out for family meals every night. The use of the cycles was a real bonus to me and our son, whilst the use of the laptop meant that our daughter could let all her friends know what she was up to each day. With the beach very close, and the village well within walking distance, we couldn't have asked for a better location. A day trip to Barcelona was another bonus.
We cannot recommend your place highly enough. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic apartment

NLY Paris, France
Review Submitted: August 3, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I've just returned from vacation where we loved staying in this apartment. It is well furnished with everything you need, as well as extras like the internet and bikes. It is obvious that the owners have put a lot of time into making sure their guests are comfortable. Little extras like water bottles, beach mats and umbrellas, backpacks for day trips are the kinds of things that you don't usually find in a vacation rental. Instructions are written down in a binder so that you can manage everything like the washing machine, DVD player, TV, internet, etc.
The area is a lot of fun. Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants, and, of course, ice cream! But the main reason for going to this area is for the beach, and it is great. Also, very close for day trips to Spain. We drove down the coast and the vistas are unbelievable. We didn't get up into the Pyrenees, but our focus was on beach time. All in all, this is a great place and great value.

Home from Home on the Mediterranean

Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We have just returned from our second holiday in this fabulous studio in Port Argeles. Location - wise it does not get any better than this! This studio apartment overlooks the beautiful marina in Argeles behind which are terrific views of the Pyrenees. Miles of beautiful beach is a mere five minutes walk and a leisurely stroll along the promonade brings you to the centre of Argeles Sur Mere within twenty minutes, not that you need to go there as the Port itself just below the apartment is a hive of pleasant activity each evening with its many restaurants, markets and musical entertainment. The apartment itself is equipped to a very high standard and is ideal for two people although four can be accommodated as we discovered last year when two of our sons joined us for a week.

Port Argeles is easily accessible from both Perpignon and Girona airports and is a great base from which to explore Catalonia. While this year we spent several evenings dining from the balcony, enjoying the views and the wonderful aromas rising from the Bleu Marine restaurant below the whole area is well served with a variety of restaurants to cater for all tastes and budgets.

We believe we have found an absolute jewel of a holiday home from which to soak up the Mediterranean sunshine and we intend to return as often as possible.

Unforgettable vacation in Catalonian Mediter. Cost

Natasha&Val Boston, USA
Review Submitted: May 17, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
We spent two unforgettable weeks in the perfectly equipped, comfortable studio apartment with breath-taking view on marina full of boats and yachts. Apartment is conveniently located in close proximity to the shopping, farmer markets, restaurants, beautiful beach, ground and water transportation. Mid-October was still an active time for walking, site seeing, even swimming, though it was a little too windy at the beach.
Renting car was very convenient and inexpensive, so we traveled around visiting little villages surrounded with vineyards, castles, restaurants, museums, etc. Incomparable Barcelona is in driving distance of two hours, as well as Medieval Carcassone, Salvador Dali's Figueros- in 30 min , etc.
Extremely pleasant communication with the owner, who provided very clear and efficient instructions to accomodation. Overall experience was excellent, we'll certainly come again soon, as well as many of our friends.

Heavenly Place

Grandma Lauren Bremerton, Washington
Review Submitted: May 17, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
My husband and I spent a week here in Sept 2008 and had a wonderful time. The apartment is cozy and includes absolutely everything you need for a great stay. The location is terrific, just above a lively promande with shops and excellent restaurants. The marina is steps from the apt. and you can watch the boats come and go. While sitting on the enclosed balcony you can watch all the action, drinking coffee while the sun comes up and sipping wine as it sets.

The apt. is well appointed and includes the use of bikes which is great since there are miles and miles of flat paths for tourning. There is also use of a computer with free internet connection (and even Wifi if you want to bring your own) as well as a VOIP phone for your use. The washer/dryer also comes in handy, especially for longer stays.

The owners are terrific and very responsive. They love to hear all about your adventures! They will give advice on where to eat, what to see and what to do.

This is not the most elegant place but it is very clean and will meet all your wants and needs. We will definately return as we LOVE the area. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Cozy Place, Wonderful Location and View

usagirl22401 Fredericksburg, Virginia
Review Submitted: May 16, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
I stayed here with my husband and two children in late August. The temperature was perfect. It was very cozy for 4 of us, but the location and view were spectacular! Go with people you can share a smaller space with. Everything we needed for a family vacation was available. We could walk to the beautiful beach, bike ride along the coast, travel by car up and down the coast and even drive into Spain. The surrounding area has much to see. We loved the nightly special activities on the water front, these varied from music and family game game night to small craft markets. There was always something to do. There was the great seafood whenever we wanted it! And the internet was very handy. We would love to go back.
