Perfect for a weekend away

My boyfriend and I spent two very enjoyable nights in this adorable flat. It was the perfect central location for our weekend in Edinburgh - just big enough for two people, but nicely done and very clean, with a very comfortable bed, nice linen, and modern bathroom. The building itself is lovely and old with tons of character. It was great to be able to wake up and make tea and toast for ourselves, without having to go out for breakfast. All in all, it turned out far cheaper and more pleasant than a hotel. I may be back!

Central location

Studio was as described - clean, modern & nicely decorated but be aware it is 'wee'. Fab location, no real need for taxis if you want to explore the heart of Edinburgh. The kitchen's adequate but the surrounding area has a wealth of really good restaurants and cafes so you'll probably spend most of your time out !
At £50/night it's a good alternative to a hotel or bed & breakfast.
Owner was friendly and helpful.

We visit Edinburgh regularly and always rent an apartment.
Apartment was one well planned room, clean and nicely decorated with a modern clean shower room. Kitchen consists of one ring in a cupboard therefore no use if you want to cook. Supplies left were a small milk and tea bags, not much use for coffee drinkers, we were gasping in the morning. Flight was too late to get in supplies. Most apartments supply both tea and coffee and many supply bread too!
Owners were very friendly and helpful at meeting us late at night as our flight was a late arrival.
Lots of stairs to climb but to be fair description does say that. There was an 'unfortunate' smell in the stair-well.
Location excellent for all of Central Edinburgh, no need for taxis if on a night out. unfortunately the night club at the back of the building went on till after two on the saturday night (I finally dropped off then and it was still loud)
Overall nice small apartment if all you need is to get your head down however considering you can get larger apartment or even a hotel room of this size (and you get your bed made up!) for this price I wouldn't recommend. We have been back to Edinburgh several times since then and have not used again. Bed was comfy though!
Owner's Response: A few responses to this review:

There's been tea, coffee, milk and shortbread supplied since August. We'd only been open for a number of weeks at this point.

Our description of the mini kitchen said microwave, hob and fridge. I've changed this to microwave, single hob and fridge. Hope this makes things clearer. I will also update the site to show a photograph.

Nightclub noise, puzzles us a little, we haven't found this to be a problem when we stay in the apartment nor have our other guests.

Regarding the smell in the stairwell, again not sure what the problem was, we always leave a mobile number if our visitors have a problem and are always happy to address any problems immediately.

An excellent apartment, very clever use of space.Decorated to a high standard. A nice touch was the provision of tea, coffee and milk.
Very close to Royal Mile and Princes St.Good location for buses to the various sights.
Good bars close by with good value food and wine.Taxis passing by all the time. Eventhough in a busy area, apartment is very quiet.
There is a stairs (54steps in total) which could be a problem for some people. The hob has one ring .
Eating out can be very reasonable in Edinburgh.
To finish I would recommend the apartment as a great place to stay for all the attractions and nightlife., also as it is very well laid out. The view from the window is lovely, just as the photo shows.Owners very easy and professional to deal with.
