We all had a fabulous holiday in La Perla, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was everything we'd hoped for. Many thanks for everything Rob & Heloise.

The Perfect Retreat - June 2009

Well what a gem of a place this is...!!!!!!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much at La Perla that we have booked again for next year!!!!

The apartment is clean and well maintained and the views from the terrace and through the large glass windows are totalling stunning. A cooling sea breeze was very pleasant during the day and as the area is quiet at night then sleeping with the windows open makes for a comfortable nights sleep.

The terrace outside is superb and very spacious with direct access to the swimming pool. Inside the apartment the spacious theme continues with a very comfortable sitting area with 2 large leather settees and chair. Satellite TV gives access to dozens of UK TV channels and the owners even provided a selection DVD's. The kitchen is very well equipped and even has a cool box and ice packs and no shortage of crockery cutlery etc.

The owners Rob and Heloise are delightful and made us feel really welcome. Although they live on site you are left to enjoy your holiday but they are ready to help if you need anything. All of the apartments have a good degree of privacy.

To get about you really do need a car but the location is a great base for visiting the Andalucian area. The town of Almunecar has no shortage of restaurants and there is a good local market on Fridays which is well worth a visit.

We look forward to visiting again in 2010.

Golf Course

Many thanks for a very relaxing week. We enjoyed meeting you and settling into the Spanish pace of life in your very nice apartment. A few words about the very nice 18 hole course in Salobrena. It is mostly flat and ideal for beginners and intermediates. It is well maintained and quiet. There is also a driving range nearby. Both the course and range are near 'Robertson's Beach Club'. Ask at the range for directions to the golf course. No handicap required just pay and play. Cost to play a round plus hire of clubs, trolleys and purchase of balls and tees: approx 100 euros in total for both of us. Would definitely recommend hiring a motorised golf cart as it can get very hot on the course. Take water and some snacks. Water is only available from a fountain at the 9th hole which is a fair walk from the clubhouse. Toilets are available on the course with basins but the water is NOT drinkable. Take at least five balls each as there are lakes galore around the course and balls seem to be mysteriously drawn towards them. Course has some interesting features like a short walk along a stretch of beach between holes. The best hole is the 19th which has a bar serving snacks and a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the beach. The food is superb and well worth it! Allow at least two hours to complete this challenging hole!

Regards

Holiday celebration

Review Submitted: November 13, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Owners Rob and Heloise made us feel welcome before we even arrived, sending friendly prompt replies to our email queries. They made helpful suggestions for our stay (with our 2 teenagers) in Cotobro, including where to get the best local tapas! The nearest beach is just a short walk away, but it was tempting to relax by the apartment's pool and admire the fab view down the valley. The apartment itself was spotless and well equipped. During our stay we visited the Alhambra Palace in Granada (cooler in the evening) and MiniHollywood in Taberna (great fun!), a couple of hours' drive away. All in all a memorable and relaxing birthday celebration!

Everything described in the advertising more than met our expectations. The villa is situated in a partly rural location, beautiful sea views and very quiet. It took us a few minutes to get into Almunecar or the village of La Herradura. You can park anywhere outside the villa.
The apartment was very clean and beautifully maintained. Any questions or problems we had were dealt with immediately by either Rob or Heloise and we felt well looked after. There are a lot of really nice restaurants close by, and the area as a whole is very Spanish and relatively inexpensive. As there are three apartments in the villa, we will be going back next year with our extended family where we will be together in one villa but with our own front doors. Perfect!

We are back home in Rome and I just wanted to thank
you one more time for great time we had in your
villa. This place is amazing. Greetings! Anna and Giovanni

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay, La Perla was of the highest quality and was so well equipped it felt like a home from home. The apartment is in a fantastic location, very peaceful with a breathtaking view but also close to Almuñécar shops, bars and restaurants. The Costa Tropical is a beautiful location and we are so pleased that we saw your advert on Owners Direct, which introduced us to this special part of Spain. The apartment is like a mini villa and provided everything we could want, the kitchen and dining areas are especially well quipped, with every kind of glass, bowl and cooking utensil. We were especially surprised to find the cool box, which was very handy during our trip to the beach and it was your attention to detail and hospitality that made our stay extra special.
