Almogian Retreat

High in the hills above Malaga lies the sleepy Andalucian town of Almogia. A couple of hundred yards beyond this white-washed, typically Spanish mountain village lies the Cortijo Te Verde.
Run by its equally charming owner Giorgio, the Cortijo offers the rare opportunity of truly getting away from the modern rat race.
Each of the property's seven bedrooms is decorated quite differently, but all contain sturdy rustic furniture, and offer a comfortable and cosy environment. The same can be said about the communal areas such as the two living rooms, one complete with library, and bathrooms, which are strategically and conveniently positioned arond the house.
The property also boasts a considerable range of facilities, which among other things include a swimming pool, barbecue area, nightclub-style bar, and children's play area.
All of this is set within a lovely plot of well maintained land, with the owner Giorgio, growing his own figs, apples, herbs and of course, green tea (Te Verde).
Despite the serene feeling of isolation however, the (very) nearby village shops offer the day to day basics, and the local bars and restaurants serve quintessential dishes for a very low price. The city of Malaga isn't too far either, 25-30 minutes. The local taxi driver Jose, was kind enough to give us his number and reassured us that we could call him at any time of the day or night to drive us to or from Malaga, in his old Mercedes with nearly a million kilometres on the clock!
The Cortijo Te Verde is the genuine article; a quiet retreat in the Andalucian monutains with freindly neighbouring villagers and stunning views. If you are looking to get away from it all, but require homely comfort and helpful hospitality, then this is the place for you.
