another splendid week in Chamonix

This was my fifth or sixth trip out to this appartment in Chamonix and still the only fault I can find with this flat is having to leave it at the end of the week! It's such a homely atmosphere, and so well situated in the centre of town, that it's almost as if you're not on holiday at all... apart from the idyllic surroundings of course!
I visited, on this occasion, with four friends (one couple, two singles) and the five of us were easily accommodated between the main and bunk bedrooms without getting under each other's feet. It was their first visit, and I'm very confident they'll be returning again!
We weren't as lucky with the weather as I had hoped, but there was still plenty of exploring to be done and I had a very liberating time on my off-piste excursions, but unfortunately was not able to tackle La Vallee Blanche on this occasion... another reason (as if I needed one) to go back out at Easter!
Those of the group who'd not skiied or boarded before sorted out lessons with ESF in the main square which they thoroughly enjoyed. After just a week they were joining us up at Flegere, Brevent and Grands Montets, and were thoroughly enjoying being up in the mountain. Their instructors even picked them up from the flat which was a real bonus.
We ate in most nights, which, quite apart from being a little easier on the wallet, is such a pleasurable experience in this flat. It really lends itself to a convivial atmosphere and we shared many a joke around the dinner table until late at night.
If you've not visited this property before, it's well worth a look as I don't believe you'll find a better situated or more welcoming apartment in the whole of Chamonix. The balcony, of course, is a huge added benefit in the late Spring and Summer months when the days are longer and the air a bit warmer!
