Guest Book - 1) What a great place to come for a restful holiday, great cottage, tranquil garden and friendly hosts. Thank you for making us so welcome. We would love to re-visit. Once again, thank you. Keith & Ethel, Sheffield. 2) Another lovely relaxing holiday that was blessed with great weather. Hope to be back soon. Sandy, Sue, Billy & Roberta, Portsmouth. 3) I don't think either of us have slept so well as we have in this wonderful cottage. We have been lucky with the weather and visited too many places to mention. Thank you for a lovely stay in a fantastic location! Paul & Lorraine, Sussex. 4) Lovely cottage set in an idyllic garden. Breakfast in the garden with the robin - I'm away - fantastic! Peace and quiet - slept like a log! Thanks for a good holiday. Alan and Susan, Tyldesley, Manchester.

An account of the Old Counthouse

Review Submitted: October 11, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
The Old Counthouse is every bit as idyllic as described. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, extremely well appointed and tastefully decorated. We particularly liked the paintings by local artists, so much so, we sought out the galleries to buy our own permanent souvenirs of a delightful holiday. My sister and I are interested in industrial heritage, so there was much to see and enjoy in and around Creegbrawse but it was also an excellent touring base. We could have filled our entire week just with visits to English Heritage and National Trust properties – as we are both members, we didn’t have to pay to get in at any of them. The money “saved” soon went on delicious cream teas! We made the most of the glorious weather by driving far and wide but we always looked forward to getting back to Creegbrawse to relax in the pretty garden. There was a wide choice of books, games and DVDs in the cottage if we had wanted to stay in. Similarly, although there were several pubs serving good food within a few minutes’ drive, the cottage kitchen was very well equipped when we chose to eat in. Our breakfast highlight was scrambled eggs from the Creegbrawse chickens. Liz and David could not have been kinder – they were never obtrusive but always willing to answer questions and make helpful suggestions. We would thoroughly recommend The Old Counthouse to anyone wanting a quiet, comfortable place to relax and unwind.

Wonderful getaway!

We took our two granddaughters aged 9 and 7 for a week's holiday in this wonderful secluded cottage. The features in the cottage are so right for the period and the cottage is so welcoming - beautifully furnished throughout with a modern bathroom. Although secluded, most places of interest are within reasonable driving distance as are some lovely beaches and Gardens. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the lovely gardens. Unfortunately, the weather was not particularly kind to us during our week and therefore we were unable to take full advantage of the garden amenities. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage and plan to go again next year. The owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful to us during our stay and we feel we have now made new friends.

The Cottage was much better as the describtion in the internet. A very nice place to stay for holidays. Everything was very clean and tidy. The garden is build like a park.We felt really welcome.
From this place it`s easy to get with your car to the most interesting sight-seeings, like S. Ives with its beautiful beaches, the eden project, or Pendennis Castle in Falmouth.Arround the cottage you can see the beautyflul nature. We enjoyed this nice and quiet time.

We found a jewel at Creegbrawse. A lovely, cosy, clean and tastefully decorated old cottage surounded by a lovely garden. We enjoyed it to have breakfast there. Returning from our trips we liked it to sit in front of the open fire. Immediately we felt at home.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful in finding some beautiful places and where we could have a good meal. Short distances to all nice and interesting places in South-Cornwall.
We will come back any time.

A Top Notch Holiday Hidey Hole

Review Submitted: June 10, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is a superbly presented cottage with everything necessary for a relaxing holiday. You don't get a sea view but then you are not paying for one. And there are compelling arguments against being in a frantic seaside position. The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the far end of Cornwall. Truro is 10 minute's drive and is a relaxing and interesting little city.
The extensive garden, designed by someone with a deep love of jungles, is a cracking place to relax. In total privacy. Would we go back? Definitely.

The cottage is situated in the centre of a fantastic area with the possibility of visiting sites such as: the Lizard, mines, little markets in Truro, beautiful beaches.
The cottage is delightful, clean and large for a family of 4: the garden is very large and beautiful and useful for children's games.
We have enjoyed every minute of our stay.

We had a great time in this lovely, cosy, clean and comfortable cottage. We felt like home. The garden is really beautiful. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.
The cottage is located in the middle of Cornwall. From there you can make daytrips to the different highlights of Cornwall. There is a lot of information in the house.
Certainly a place to come back to.
