Brilliant situation

If you want to visit Unter den Linden and Mitte by foot then this apartment is unbelievably well situated. If you'd rather use public transport then it's also very well place, only a five minute walk from the Spittelmarkt U-Bahn station. If you're self-catering there's an excellent Edeka supermarket only a short walk away.
The apartment is quiet, warm and has everything you'd need. In short, this is an absolutely ideal place to stay if you want to really get to know Berlin from a central location. My wife and I stayed here with our two daughters and were very impressed.

Just an "okay" place

The good news is that this apartment is in a perfect location to do anything in Berlin. So, in that sense it fulfilled our needs. But...there are definite drawbacks that potential renters should be made aware of. First of all, there was an odor to the apartment - in other words, a bad smell. My husband and I argued over it: I thought it smelled like pet urine in the carpet, but he swore it was some kind of bug spray or insecticide. Either way, it was downright unpleasant to come home to. Secondly, there are no fans or screens for the deck doors. It was very muggy and stuffy during our stay and even though we left the deck doors completely open (even during the night) we still felt like we couldn't breathe in the apartment.By doing so, however, we had to deal with mosquitos and other bugs. We called Jochen and asked for a fan, but he said he doesn't use them. Lastly, we received 5 flimsy towels for the 5 of us for 5 days. Needless to say we couldn't wait to get rid of those towels! We could not wait to leave this apartment by the last day and we would not stay again. By the way, we have stayed in many apartments/houses around the world and almost never stay in hotels, so we know what to compare this apartment to. In addition, we travel very light (only backpacks) and are not very picky people. So, although this apartment served its purpose, we really would not recommend it to other travelers.
Great Location but Not Clean

This property has a perfect location close to bus and subway stations. No rental car is needed.
We were a family of 6 from the U.S. staying for a week in Berlin. I did make specific arrangements to be able to check in upon my arrival at 10 a.m. I spoke on the phone 3 days prior to verify that this would be okay to check in early because this was a specific need or I would choose another property. I was told it was not rented the night before and I would for sure be able to check in upon my morning arrival. When I arrived I phoned the owner and was told I could not check in until 2p.m. he had rented it last minute. I had 10 large suitecases and 4 tired children and was very upset to hear I would have to hang at the airport for 4 hours. He did rush and let us check in by noon.
The apartment did meet our needs however, the kitchen I would describe more as really just a sink, microwave and mini fridge. Not really a full kitchen.
The only issue with the appartment was that all the bedding and towels were covered in hair. I imagine pets were allowed and thus pet hair was everywhere. This was a problem for 2 of my children suverely allergic to pet hair.
The blankets and pillows did not smell like they had been washed after the last guest and had bad odors. I did have to go to the shops and purchase bed linens and towels to use that did not have hair all over them which was a large cost. I would suggest bringing your own bed linens and towels if using this appartment because there is a LOT of hair on everything.
Again, though, the location was superb. We had a fabulous stay in Berlin. So much to do!!

Wir waren zu viert, 2 Mütter mit 2 Töchtern (17 und 23) und haben uns sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist warm im Winter, hat 2 Balkone für die warme Jahreszeit. Sie ist nicht romanisch (ein grosser anonymer Block) aber sehr zweckmässig eingerichtet und am grossen Esstisch oder in den Sofas vor dem Fernseher kann man es sich richtig gemütlich machen. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Super ist auch der Internetzugang. Abends zu Fuss ins Restaurant im Nikolaiviertel.

Die Häuser in der Berliner Innenstadt (Berlin-Mitte ist die ehemalige DDR) sind sicher nicht sehr romantisch, direkt vor der Tür befindet sich aber die älteste Brücke Berlins, die Jungfernbrücke, die über den Kupfergraben führt, hier werden auch des Öfteren Angler gesichtet.
Nach einem Anbieterwechsel steht nun eine noch schnellere kostenlose DSL-WLAN Verbindung (6000) zur Verfügung. Zusätzlich ein Festnetztelefon mit Deutschland Flatrate.

Mitten in Berlin und doch so ruhig und idyllisch mit Grünanlage und Grachtenatmoshäre.
Wir waren begeistert die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet in jedem Zimmer ein Fernseher und Musik, spitze! In Ihrer Küche fühlten wir uns gleich Zuhause, es war wirklich alles vorhanden.
Lage des Apartments ist super zentral ;wirkonnten das "alte Ostberlin" ,sowie viele Sehenswürdigkeiten ganz toll zu Fuß erkunden .Dank Ihrer Insidertips, unsere Jugendlichen hatten auch abends viele Möglichkeiten etwas zu unternehmen, Riesig, der WLAN Anschluss, so hatten wir kostenlos Internetzugang,( ohne schwere Bücher) viele nützliche Zusatzinformationen auf unserem Notebook. Wir kommen wieder!!!

Owner's Response: Liebe (potentielle) Feriengäste, nunmehr ist auch ein WLAN - Internetradio (TechniSat) vorhanden, d.h. selbst wenn Sie kein Laptop mitbringen, können Sie über das Internet in erstklassiger digitaler Qualität mehrere tausend (!) Radiosender hören. Um aber nicht in der Vielfalt zu ersticken, ist ein ausgekügeltes System vorhanden, mit dem Sie z.B. auf Knopfdruck ausschließlich französische Sender aus einer bestimmten Gegend einstellen können. Über das Display erhalten Sie jeweils zusätzliche Informationen zum Programm. Ich habe nun selbst das Gerät zu Hause und kann das Gerät nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.
Weiterhin ist nun der neue große Holztisch mit 6 Polsterstühlen vorhanden, die neuen Bilder hängen schon fast und die Balkonmöbel aus Plastik wurden durch solide Bistromöbel ersetzt. Kommen Sie doch und schauen es sich an!

Wir waren mit dem Appartement(2Zimmer) bestens zufrieden.Optimale zentrale,dennoch sehr ruhige Wohnlage,sogar mit original italienischer Espressomaschine.Besonders angehem, jedes Zimmer mit Lodgia.Kommen gerne wieder!
Owner's Response: Leider haben die Grevenbroicher den 5. Koffer vergessen, telefonisch mir aber zugesichert, ihn das nächste mal mitzubringen. :-) Das Apartment hat nunmehr einen neuen massiven Esstisch mit 6 Stühlen erhalten (s. Foto)

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in Berlin! Das Apartment ist wirklilch absolut zentral gelegen, und, da es zum Innenhof gelegen ist, von wirklich ländlicher Ruhe! In fünf Fußminuten ist z.B. das Nikolaivierte erreicht mit diversen Lokalen und kleineren Museen - die großen Museen der Museumsinsel auch direkt erreichbar. Zur Selbstversorgung ist wirlich alles im Apartment vorhanden, von Plaster und Nähgarn bis hin zur italienischen Espressomaschine, Die beiden Balkons (jedes Zimmer hat einen eigenen!) sind bei wärmerem Wetter sicher sehr schön.
Sehr gut hat uns auch gefallen, daß wir über den vorhandenen DSL-Anschluss ohne weitere Kosten unser Laptop anschliessen konnten und uns so abends über das Erlebte noch einmal im Internet informieren konnten. Herr H. sagte uns, dass demnächst auch internetfähige Computer vorhanden seien, so dass das nächste Mal das Laptop zu Hause bleiben kann.
Die vielen Informationen im Vorfeld unseres Urlaubes, die Unterstützung während des Aufenthaltes - wir hatten einen Blechschaden, der ´Dank der Hilfe von Herrn H. schnell behoben werden konnte in einer ihm bekannten Werkstatt - die Ausstattung und Sauberkeit des Apartments - kurzum, wir sind rundum zufrieden, kommen gerne wieder und machen gerne Werbung für dieses wirklich schöne Ziel, vielen Dank.

Die Einrichtung des Internetanschlusses hat sich als sehr erfolgreich erwiesen, Sie können so kurzfristig aktuelle Termine abrufen (z.B. über meine Internetseite die tagesgenaue Veranstaltungsdatenbank mit über 500 Terminen in allen Bereichen), Verbindungen des ÖPNV usw. . Auch im Nachhinein auftauchende Fragen (in welche Richtung schaut die Quadriga auf dem Brandenburger Tor?) oder auch wesentlichere Fragen können Sie blitzschnell und unkompliziert klären.

Herr Stomsky aus Hohegeiß: sehr zentrale Lage. Hinweise vom Vermieter hervorragend. gute Anregungen. gemütliche Einrichtung. vollwertige Küche. für 6 Personen voll ausrechend.
Betten sehr gut und bequem. Balkone mit schönem ungestörtem Ausblick. sehr ruhig.
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gut zu erreichen. Wohnung sehr gepflegt und sauber. Wir planen den nächsten Urlaub wieder hier.
