Neat and clean apartment in great location

As per all the reviews the location (Barri Gottic) is superb, get off the Aerobus (from Barcelona Airport) at Plaza Catalunya <5min walk, yes 75 steps (your legs will be toned) and into a secure, neat, and clean 1 bedroom apartment as per pictures. Kitchen has everything you need to make a meal. The couch/sofa bed is old and worn and has lost a bit of its padding so you can feel the frame when you sit or sleep on it. The double bed in the room is fine. No problems with bathroom and hot water. No laundry facilities but there is a laundromat downstairs opposite the apartment. No Wifi which would have been handy (to research where to eat and how to get there etc) but there is a Starbucks around the corner and Internet facilities on Las Ramblas.
The Hop on/off bus starts at Plaza Catalunya which is where the tourist info centre is too. The metro/train station Plaza Catalunya and Uriquinoa are <5min walk away. Gaudi's creations Casa Batllo and La Perdera are <20min walk. Two streets away 5min walk is the start of Las Ramblas then 20 min to the bottom which is the beach and port. 10min walk on the Las Ramblas you get to Mercat La Boqueria (the fresh food markets). There is also a Carrefour supermarket for anything else... like wine and beer! Cafes/bars/tapas/restaurants are in abundance and you are spoilt for choice.
Lorenzo was prompt to respond to all queries and a pleasure to deal with.
This property was adequate for our needs (party of 2) and would be happy to recommend it to family/friends or hopefully get a chance to return to Barcelona to rent again.
Thanks Lorenzo!

Great location for an apartment to be in if you are travelling to Barcelona for the first time, It is about 5mins walk from tourist information, tourist bus tour and Las Ramblas (the happening place in Barcelona). 5 Mins walk from the Metro plaza cataluyna.

Apartment also offers a kitchen to cook your own meal, just below the apartment there is a shop where you can buy your food from. Shopping places is only 2 mins away.

Me and my friends had a great time and we will definitely be booking this apartment again if we goto Barcelona in the near future.

Thanks Lorenzo

Good location in the centre of Barcelona

Review Submitted: March 28, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This was good-value, budget accommodation in the heart of Barcelona. Great situation, just a short stroll from the Ramblas, the Gothic Cathedral quarter and Plaza Catalunya (for the airport shuttle). We spent every evening wandering round delightful, old Barcelona.
It is definitely not luxurious (but it is cheaper than most), and there are 75 narrow steps, so not suitable for elderly travellers; but we had hot water, a heater for the cool evenings, and plenty of kitchen equipment.
Note: just 1 small bathroom.

Plaza Catatunya Visit - March 2009

The location is excellent for visiting Barcelona. An easy walk from the airport bus drop off, metro, shopping center, and Las Ramblas. Other than the location, this property was a disappointment. There are 75 steps from the first floor to the floor the apartment is located on. The hall and stairs are very narrow, dimly lite and difficult to "lug" a suit case up and down in. The futon sofa is like sitting on pieces of lumber. When you sit down, you feel the wood supports in the sofa frame. The furniture in general was uncomfortable. The directors chairs were in need of repair. The electrical outlet in the tiny bathroom didn't work. We had problems with the hot water heater not working twice. Sometimes you could take two showers without running out of hot water and sometimes you didn't have enough hot water to wash the dishes in. The apartment is extremely small and out dated. Some of the floor tiles are loose or broken. The bathroom shower curtain and ceiling had mold. The ceiling paint in the main room is peeling. There are limited utensils for cooking.
This was our fifth time renting self catering apartments in Europe and by far the worst apartment we have stayed in.

We rented this apartment for 1 week and found it to be ideal for what we wanted.

It was only 5 minutes walk from las ramblas, 20 minutes walk from the beach and 2 minutes from the drop off point for the airport bus and train stations.

The apartment was clean and well maintained and had a couple of cafes very near by as well as a small grocery store.
