August in Flanc de Roche

a fabulous holiday house and we can't wait to return. We couldn't understand why there was a tv as the views from the terrace surpass any film or programme..passing yachts en route to Monaco...the trains....people clambering the rocks and going for swims...the dogs padding around the grounds of the Greek's mansion..the marvel of the bridge-to discover more you must visit yourself!
It is possible to manage without a car as the 100 bus service is v frequent to both Nice and Monaco. It does not run late at night though. The trains too are doable if you walk to Cap d'Ail. Cannes is an hour by direct train.
The nearest large Carrefour supermarkets are at Monaco in Fontvielle (a mall) and at Mont Baron on the Eze side of Nice (and on the 100 bus route).
The villa is truly hidden away but be prepared-the steep steps number 117 and there are paths in between. It's great exercise though especially when managing a supermarket visit!!
Do explore Nice. The museums and galleries are superb, as are the clothes shops and beach areas. Monaco and Cannes are too busy but perhaps worth a half day visit if only to see the cars, people and yachts.
Lastly, go to Eze village at 9 in the morning before all the cruise ships land!! The views are to die for. Have petit dejuner at the Eagles Nest restaurant and then go through to the the jardin exotique. It's one of those places in the world that your brain can photograph.

We had such a good holiday - this house is beautiful - romantic, secluded and so near the beach!
There are lots of steps to get to it, so no good for elderly or disabled people - but what a great location right above the bay, a few steps away from the beach!
House is lovely, clean and comfortable - we had very good service.
We were glad to have a car as it´s about 10 mins drive to Monte Carlo and 25 mins to Nice.

Romantische Villa

Wunderschönes Natursteinhaus, sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Hohe Räume vermitteln das Gefühl der totalen Freiheit. Die Villa ist im Grünen versteckt und mittels einer romatischen Brücke erreichbar. Viele Rückzugsmöglichkeiten weil diverse Terrassen und Gärten. Die Umgebung und das Dorf Eze-Sur-Meer und Eze-Village (Mittelalter) sind ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Die Abgeschiedenheit und Ruhe in der schönen Landschaft DIREKT AM MEER war für uns absolut idyllisch. Der Privatstrand nur "one step away" ! Total abgeschieden und ruhig. Ein Auto für Tagesausflüge können wir nur empfehlen. Vielen Dank für die unvergesslichen Tage, wir kommen gerne wieder nach Flanc d´Roche. **Silvia & Alexander**

This small lonely Villa is the most delightful place we´ve ever stayed in. We´ve rented Flanc d´Roche three times now and each time in a different season. This small summerhouse away from the world and just above a small and natural beach makes it the ideal place to read or write a book, to paint or to just to rest and enjoy the views and the passing boats, yachts or even trains. The steps to get there are a lovely promenade in the green. No cars. No usual tourism. The house is maintained to an excellent standard. Very clean. Well-appointed comfortable rooms. Beautifully designed Alessi-bathroom. Everything you need in the kitchen. Small international library. Spacious living areas and several terraces with direct seaview. No close neighbours. No need for a pool. The sea is just 43 steps away. Thank you again. We´ll back next year!

wunderschön gelegene kleine Villa mit Traumblick auf das
Meer und die Berge. Der kleine Strand unterhalb des Hauses erlaubt es ganz ungeniert zum Schwimmen zu gehen und man hat das Gefühl eine eigene kleine Badebucht an der Cote dÁzur zu haben. Herrlich zum
Beine und Seele baumeln lassen.
Das Haus ist gut und persönlich eingerichtet mit allen notwendigen Fazilitäten.
Werden sicherlich nochmals den Weg Richtung Eze, mit der wunderschönen Aussicht ueber die Küste und den kleinen Geschäften und zur Villa Flanc de Roche finden.

Wunschlos glückliche Tage in Flanc de Roche

Wir hatten zu viert eine wunderschöne, sehr entspannte Woche in Flanc de Roche. Die riesige Sonnenterasse ist einfach herrlich zum Lesen, Dösen, aufs Meer Schauen und Entspannen. Das Meer absolut sauber (keine Quallen und ähnliches) und daher besonders toll zum Baden. Die Ausstattung und der Komfort der Wohnung war für unsere Ansprüche hervorragend. Besonders die Küchenausstattung hat unsere Erwartungen deutlich übertroffen. Man merkt, dass die Eigentümer selbst Wert auf gute Küche legen. Es fehlt praktisch kein einziges Küchenutensil und die vorhandenen Messer schneiden tatsächlich (kommt bei FeWos leider nicht häufig vor...)
Die an der Küste verlaufende Zuglinie stört absolut nicht. Direkt an der Straße oberhalb befindet sich auch die Bushaltestelle. Für nur einen Euro kann man von dort mit dem Bus nach Nizza oder Monaco und Menton fahren und den eigenen PKW mal stehen lassen. Besser geht's nicht.
Wirklich der einzige Wermutstropfen ist, dass man sein Gepäck wegen der fehlenden Anfahrtsmöglichkeit ein ordentliches Stück zu Fuss zum Haus tragen muss. Aber das muss man einfach sportlich nehmen. Dafür wird man allerdings reichlich mit wunderbaren Urlaubseindrücken entschädigt: Ein kleines Paradies für ganz normale Leute mitten unter den Jetsettern, Reichen und Schönen dieser Erde.

Dieses kleine Häuschen ist wirklich ein Geheimtipp. Irgendwo zwischen den Jet-Set Metropolen Monaco und Nizza taucht man steil ab, in eine wild bewachsene kleine Schlucht, in der Ferne lockt das Meer. Die Stufen führen hinab zu einer wagemutigen Brücke, die hoch über das enge Tal auf die andere Seite führt. Der Pfrad darüber ist so schmal, dass zwei Personen kaum aneinander vorbei kommen. Dann erreicht man die kleine Villa über dem Fels. Durch einen Torbogen gelangt man auf die weitläufige Terrasse, die einen überwältigenden Blick auf das Meer freigibt. Der gleiche Blick eröffnet sich einem, wenn man morgens, gut erholt aus dem Schlafzimmer kommt und durch die Hausflucht nach draußen schaut. Man befindet sich hier so schön abgeschieden und doch mitten drinn. Ein Ort zum Aufatmen und Durchatmen. Ein Ort zum Träumen und Denken. Ein Ort zum Lesen und Schreiben. Abgesehen von all den Möglichkeiten zu spannenden Aktivitäten in der Umgebung, die verlocken, aber sich nicht aufdrängen. Also, nicht weitersagen, sonst ist bald nichts mehr frei!

peaceful green valley and the secluded beach were a welcome change to living in a bustling city.

Located among the lush green gardens of the idyllic valley, the villa offers the perfect hideaway for a refreshing and inspiring vacation.
The villa has very nice rooms, an inviting terrace and is located only a short footwalk away from the Mediterranean Sea. Opportunities for sightseeing (for example in Monaco) are within short driving distance.
We enjoyed our stay extraordinarly and we would always come back to enjoy the beauty and comfort of the place.

ich kann diese entzückende kleine villa nur weiterempfehlen!
„flanc de roche“ ist landschaftlich idyllisch zwischen nizza und monaco gelegen. man spürt an der liebevollen einrichtung sofort, dass der eigentümer hier auch zeitweise wohnt. die villa ist gemütlich und sehr sauber. der Wintergarten und die große terrasse mit meerblick sind ebenso wundervoll wie der in ein paar minuten erreichbare kieselstrand für ein erfrischendes bad in einer kleinen stillen bucht. der vermieter ist sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. mehr braucht man nicht zum glücklichsein! ich komme auf jeden fall wieder!
