Villa Neptune: A Little Slice of Heaven on Earth

Review Submitted: September 16, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Just returned from a 7 day stay at this wonderful villa. The photographs do NOT do it justice as it's even more beautiful in real life.

The starter pack was excellent, but do yourselves a favor: shop for the week in Chania or Kissimos before driving to the villa, as the way back is long and windy. Incredible scenery, but it chews up your day if you just need to get groceries. Also would recommend a 4-wheel drive or standard vehicle for the dirt roads & hills.

Elafonisi Beach is superb and should not be missed and we had a magnificent lunch at Koyzin Restaurant, a Taverna close by.

We didn't need or want to make many day trips as Villa Neptune is in such a beautiful, tranquil setting. Suggest a two week stay if you do want to explore Crete as there is loads to see (covered market in Chania is a one-stop-shop for souvenirs). Would have loved to hit the north east side of the island, but we were too jealous of our time to spend it in a car!

Bring your hiking shoes for the ridge behind the villa and climb to the top, marked by a huge, hand made cross for amazing views! Be sure to pack sturdy swim shoes for the rock beach at "Goddess Cove," (unless your feet are made of leather, it hurts!) which has the most beautiful, clear water to swim or just float in!

All in all this was a dream holiday for my 2 traveling companions and me (the 3 of us have known each other for 30+ years and wanted a special girls only vacation).

Thank you Innahorion Villas for what truly was the trip of a lifetime. I recommend to all who read this as well as to all of my friends. Although I do so with a bit of regret since I don't want it to be so popular that I can't get a booking next time!

I shall return!!!!!!!

the best place to stay in West Crete

It's the nicest et most confortable villa where we ever stay.
The view is fantastic and we have spent a lot of time in this marvellous swimning pool. The place is very quiet and private, about 12 kilometers from elafonisi.
Crete is a wonderfull place. We've made a travel trip during one week before staying in Villa Neptune. It was difficult to leave this magic place. We'll be back as soon as possible!

Exceptional Villa

I have stayed in many villas across the world and this seems easily one of the best.

Fantastic infinity pool (much bigger than usual), amazing views, very tranquil and private, quite modern inside with good quality furnishings and jacuzzi and very well cleaned and maintained.

We really didn't want to do many day trips as we had such a relaxing time and you really feel like you have absolutely everything, even the bedrooms feel like a 5* hotel bedroom.

Still Crete is an amazing place and there were many places worth visiting and the suggestions provided by the owner were very good.

Don't forget to eat at Gialites taverna in the village, Yiannis is an excellent Greek cook and will make you feel very welcome. You can even have the dishes of your choicedelivered straight to the villa.

We'll definitely stay there again, the memories from that villa are just too good!

luxury living on the rugged west coast of Crete

We have just returned from two glorious weeks at the Villa Neptune. The setting is spectacular and the house with its cliff side pool is absolutey great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Also, be sure to visit the excellent In Gialites tavern in the local village village of Livadia. And you can buy very decent homebrew wine and olive oil in the village's rustic shop.

Excellent place to get away from it all!

We have travelled extensively around the world and Crete and find this property and location an ideal location to really unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of busy hotel properties. Despite its remote location, the scenery is amazing whilst the property has all the modern amenities needed to make your stay truly comfortable.

We have visited this property twice and we are planning a third visit. The kids absolutely love it! The infinity edge pool with a view of the Med Sea on one side and the rock cliff on the other provides the most spectacular views.

From this property you can walk down to a rock beach via a staircase built into the mountain side. There you will find the smallest church built on a rock and a very pleasant sea side walk. You can also make your way along a dirt path to other local churches.

On the other side of this property is a more hardier walk that takes you down to the sea and to a church built into a cave. All of the local sites are worth exploring for their historic significance and scenic beauty.

By car you can visit either Elafonisi beach or Balos beach which provides some of the most warm and beautiful beaches that Crete has to offer. Along the way there are many small restaurants or tavernas offering Greek specialties or pack a lunch because you will definitely not want to leave.

Suppies and groceries can be bought in Chania at the large supermarket or at many of the the smaller ones along the way. If you do not want to cook then you can easily arrange for some tasty Greek specialties to be cooked and brought to you by the locals.

A spectacular five star property in one of the most scenic places in Europe. We can't stay away!
