Reviews of Property: Luxuriously 4 star rated lodge with breathtaking sea views

Beautiful, comfortable, clean accomodation - very well designed, spacious & warm, & facilities are excellent. Stunning views & lovely sheltered garden with hammock. Tim & Doris are wonderful hosts & provided helpful information & advice for visits,resturants & trips etc. The local resturants, outdoor activites, & arts/music were all fantastic depending on your preferences. Local people were very friendly & helpful. Nothing we disliked at all! We found so much to do, that 2 weeks were not enough. The only 'bummer' was we had to come home! We would certainly recommend this property to friends & are planning to visit again in the autumn.

Solar Lodge is certainly well away from the hustle and bustle, and this is just what we were looking for. The stunning views and very stylish and comfortable furnishings meant we had a nice time just relaxing in the cottage. However, there is plenty to do in the area and in spite of bad weather we had a great week getting out and seeing the sights of Kerry. The fully appointed kitchen meant we could self cater in style and as such the holiday was fairly inexpensive in comparison to staying in B&Bs and having to eat out every night. Tim and Doris are very congenial hosts and we loved the fascinating paintings that Tim has decorated the cottage with. Solar Lodge is thoroughly recommended (but the weather is out of their control!)

We lost no time in locating the Solar Lodge as the directions provided were excellent. We were warmly welcomed and shown around the property and gardens and were immediately impressed with the quality of the accommodation - comfortable; functional and stylish. The views from the Lodge are breathtaking - rolling countryside, mountains and the sea.
Situated in Ballinskelligs Solar Lodge is ideal as an escape fom the "rat race" and to recharge the batteries - although I did find the WIFI internet access very useful.
Despsite its out of the way location we found the property to be a very useful base to explore the Iveragh Peninsula - the drive to Kenmare is beautiful and we got to the National Park in Killarney in just under an hour. Portmagee and Valentia Island are practically on your doorstep and Cahersiveen is about 20 minutes away with plenty of shops to stock up on all the essentials you will need for your stay.
Overall we rate the Solar Lodge as excellent and we hope to return soon.

I found the Solar Lodge to be exactly what I had hoped it to be: a quiet place to escape from the rat race, but at the same time, a place with all the comforts one looks for in a holiday spot. The lodge is situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful scenery of a bay of islands, and is surrounded by lush rolling hills. The accommodations are modern, stylish, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. I found Tim and Doris, the knowledgeable and amiable hosts who live next door, to be extremely helpful while at the same time allowing me lots of privacy when I wanted it. Tim is an artist and has his studio in their home (and his beautiful art decorates the walls of the lodge). The garden is a lovely spot to sit and read. There is lots to see and do in the area if you want to explore. I spent hours walking and beachcombing within a few minutes' drive of the cottage (or a hefty hike). They also have a couple of other rental properties in the area that are larger and equally stylish and comfortable, if you need more room. I have already recommended the spot to a number of friends in Canada.

Wir waren eine Woche in der Solar Lodge eingemietet. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage der Lodge ist sehr ruhig, richtig erholsam. Mit dem Wetter hatten wir Glück, so dass sich die Insel von ihrer schönsten, sonnigen Seite zeigen konnte.
Die Lodge entspricht der Beschreibung voll und ganz. Man wir nicht enttäuscht sein. Empfehlen würde ich die Lodge auf jeden Fall wieder. Wir waren mit unserer einjährigen Tocher unterwegs. Normal ist die Lodge nur für zwei Personen und im Alter von einem Jahr ist denke ich gerade die Grenze für einen Aufenthalt mit Kind.
Die Vermieter sind nett und zuvokommend. Sie bereiten Ihren Gästen einen reibungslosen Aufenthalt und stehen für Fragen und sonstige Anliegen gerne bereit.
Alles in Allem war es ein schöner Urlaub in einem wunderbaren Domizil in dem man Ruhe, erholung und Gastfreundschaft genießen kann.

Möchten Sie sich erholen und Irland in Ruhe genießen, zögern Sie nicht! Abgesehen von der wunderbaren Landschaft ist dieses kleine Häuschen sehr gemütlich, mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und bietet jeden Comfort. Hinzu kommt, dass Sie Gastgeber erwarten dürfen, die mehr als nur Vermieter sind. Ganz liebe Leute, die wirklich ein Interesse daran haben, dass man sich wohl fühlt. Wir werden sicher oft an Bellinskelligs denken!

Die "Solar Lodge" liegt wirklich wunderschön und bietet einen grandiosen Blick über die Bucht von Ballingskelligs. Bei schönem Wetter lässt sich dieser besonders gut von der kleinen Terasse bewundern. Da es das letzte Haus an einer kleinen Straße ist, kann man dort eine unbeschreibliche Ruhe genießen. Die Lodge selbst ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, vorallem die genialen Gemälde des Vermieters an den Wänden sind mehr als einen Blick wert (auch in seinem Studio!). Insgesamt eine luxuriöse Ausstattung und sehr sauber. Durch den kleinen Elektrokamin, der das Brennen eines echten Feuers simuliert, kann man romantische Abende bei einem guten Buch genießen. Von der "Solar Lodge" aus kann man sehr gut Ausflüge über den "Ring of Kerry" in die näherer Umgebung und schöne kleine Städte machen, aber auch lange Strandspaziergänge und Wanderungen durch die Natur. Wenn man bereit ist, ein paar Kilometer mehr zu fahren, lassen sich von dort auch die beiden anderen Halbinseln Dingle und Beara gut anfahren bzw. bereisen.
Die Vermieter wohnen direkt neben der Lodge und sind sehr, sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Die Buchungsabwicklung hat einwandfrei funktioniert und Emails mit Fragen wurden schnell beantwortet.
Wir können die "Solar Lodge" wirklich nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen, wenn man auch im Urlaub nicht auf Komfort verzichten möchte und eine super entspannte Zeit in atemberaubender Natur verbringen will.
