Fantastic Holiday

RichHarii Bristol, England
Review Submitted: August 12, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My family and I stayed for 8 nights in this lovely garden appartment. The location is ideal with an abundance of picturesque beaches close to hand and plenty of restaurants in Port Vendre and the surrounding area.

The appartment offered plenty of space for our group which included two couples and my nine year old son - with space for another young child. The garden terrace is ideallic.

I would have rated this excellent however we were unfortunate to have two nights of festive celebration in the port which interrupted our sleep. However, this was down to timing of our stay and didn't reflect on the apartment or location.

Would go back.

September Getaway

Review Submitted: February 23, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
My partner & I together with a couple of friends were fortunate enough to spend a 5 night 'getaway' in Port Vendres staying in the Garden Apartment at the end of Sept 2008. Wow, what a wonderful location & a beautiful apartment. The apartment is large, airy & very clean & comfortable & so well equipped, there was everything that you could possibly want. We had breakfast on the terrace every morning & although we ate out on 4 of the nights it was still warm enough to sit under the stars in the garden for a nightcap when we got back. The information pack was invaluable & covered virtually everything. Port Vendres itself is absolutely charming & the locals were so friendly & welcoming, the surrounding area affords some quite breathtaking scenery & is perfect whether you want to walk, drive or make use of the local transport. We hired a car but we did lots of walking along the coast & into the nearby hills. Although it was end of Sept there were still a good selection of local restaurants open & the food was sensational. Our 5 night getaway, to re-charge our batteries certainly did the trick & we will definitely be going back but for longer next time. Thank you Karla.

Spring in the garden apartment

Four Canadians Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Review Submitted: February 8, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
We stayed in the Garden Apartment for a week in March 2008. While there, the weather was warm and pleasant and plants were just beginning to bloom. We arrived late in the evening, and when we awoke the next day, we were delighted to find that the apartment was spacious, sunny, and very clean. The neighbouthood around the apartment is friendly and welcoming. Our young teenage daughters immediately were comfortable exploring the area by themselves. We took a number of day trips in the surrounding country side in France, and in northern Spain. The directions in Karla's guidebook were helpful and easy to follow. The area is spectacularly beautiful, yet has retained a relaxed pace, perfect for a restful family holiday. We highly recommend this area for a vacation, and we look forward to future visits to the Garden Apartment.

Spring 2008; Port-Vendres with 2 young children

Review Submitted: January 26, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2008
We stayed in the garden apartment late April 2007 with our 2 kids (2 and 4) and we had a great time. The apartment is very central, close to shops and restaurants (walkable within a few minutes), a couple of nice beaches (few minutes by car), lovely Collioure, and let's not forget to mention: the P-V fish market!
6 of the 7 days we had sunshine and temperatures to have lunch and dinner outside, the kids enjoyed exploring the garden, watching a DVD before sleeping and of course the close-by "attractions" I mentioned above. Very helpful were Karla's recommendations we found in the apartment for day trips!

Wonderful days in Port Vendres

Dear Karla
We all enjoyed the pleasant stay in your lovely Garden Apartment. Most of the time we where outside that means on the beach (most times the smaller one in Paulilles) or on a trip in the region (St. Martin, Perpignan, vineyards around, Peyrepertuse, Gorges de la Fou and so on but the rest of the time we loved to sit on the wooden terrace and had a good time there with comfortable temperatures (only the last two evenings of our stay were to cold for eating outside in the evening).

We love the expanding view over the harbour, the hills around Port Vendres and the Pyrenees.

The highlight of our holidays was the menu and wine tasting in Clos de Paulilles what we can recommend with a lot enthusiasm.

Hello Karla. Thank you for letting us stay in your apartment this summer.
We had a great 14 days with lovely weather, great food, nice beaches and a lot of “action” in the village.
The village was cozy and had what we needed for a pleasant stay, but parking spots scarce! We can absolutely recommend boh the appartment, the town of Port Vendre and the area. Thank's again.

Cosy Apartment

Heihaaner Dreieich, Germany
Review Submitted: November 22, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We enjoyed the Garden Apartment very much. We had a wonderful week. The
house is located calm, but very central. Shops and restaurants are nearby.
The apartment is very cosy and has much atmosphere (we say this in German, I
don't' know if it's correct in English). We felt ourselves at home.
Our children love your DVD-collection!
Our whole family can imagine staying again in Port Vendres.
Thank you very much for being your guest in the Garden Apartment,
