We had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Just waking up to those views every morning was amazing. Villa was very well equipped, could not fault it. Will be back next in 2006, and maybe for a winter break in 2005 !

Beautiful villa and scenery. Local restaurants were fab..and very good value. Very peaceful place
Margaret Strange - July 2005

I did not know such unspoilt places still existed in Spain, NO mass tourism , lilo shops, English cafes. Just traditional Spanish villages and beautiful countryside. Pat Buckland - July 2005

We stayed in the villa for 2 weeks in july 2009. We had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Just waking up to those views every morning was amazing.
The villa is well equiped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
The villa has a great pool, wich is not to deep, so the overall temperature of the water stays agreable.
We got excellent instructions, advise and help from the owner and from the local contacts Peter and Dee. Special complements to Peter who came by on a Sunday to repare one of the toilets.
This was our best holiday ever. The children didn't want to leave.
Family from Belgium with two young children.

Fantastic!!!!

To get up in a morning to the view is fantastic and that alone is enough to give a 5* rating. The villa is well equiped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Eileen couldn't have helped more and eased any concerns I had on my 1st booking(regarding our 2yr old). Nothing is too much trouble for Peter and Dee and they have lots of tips on the local area. We stayed in the villa Aug 2005 and July 2007 for 2 weeks, we totally re-charged our batteries and we spent most of our time at the villa relaxing and getting lots of quality family time.

What a wonderful goodby to winter

We had the pleasure of being the first visitors from Finland in this lovely, lovely villa. Must say that it is as hard to impress a Finn with a lake view, as it is to impress a Brazilian with a beach or fresh fruit - but we were speachless in front of the stunning view from the patio and from the living room panorama window. It was like being in a very beautiful painting - added with the charm of the birds singing and lovely fragrance of the surrounding nature.

We spent there a week in Feb-Mar, after a very rainy winter. Had some rain during the week, but also enjoyed meals on the sunny patio - luxury in February! The nice fire place kept us warm during the cool evenings. The villa is extremely well equipped, clean and comfortable. It has a very nice feel of a home. Location is very peaceful, safe and relaxing.

We got excellent instructions, advise and help from the owner and from the local contacts Peter and Dee. Made nice walks thru the surrounding area with olive grows, visited close-by villages e.g. Frigliana, voted to be the most charming Spanish village. City of Nerja on the coast was nicer than the horrible tourist colosseums along the Costa del Sol. Good shopping centre with excellent supermarket on the way from the airport or Nerja. There are some restaurants within a short drive, the best one was in the village on the hillside, the other side of the main road. You will find the name in the guest book.

We warmly recommend to anybody seeking a relaxing place just to enjoy, or to explore Andalucia. Maybe not for families with toddlers, but for any age above 3 years. And you do need a car. We hope to return - in later spring or early autumn time!

The perfect villa

Looking to escape from a busy lifestyle at home and find a cure for “executive stress” the villa proved to be the perfect remedy. We went out for two weeks but ended up staying for three!

Located in an idyllic location with what can only be described as the perfect view of Lake Vinuela, the villa provides everything you could need. The cleanest villa we have ever rented, great range of utensils and lovely outdoor facilities with great good size pool, BBQ and loads of outdoor seating and loungers.

There is a lovely butchers and bakers nearby as well as larger supermarkets a short drive away.

Pete and Dee who greeted us were always on hand if we needed anything and if you crave a taste of home, Chez Spice will provide a great view and some good quality Indian food to match.

A great villa for couples or families in a lovely part of Spain ...we will certainly be back.

Simply paradise

The Swailes Family Ilfracombe, North Devon
Review Submitted: November 27, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We travelled to this villa in August 2008. The family were myself and hubby, 3 grown up children and a friend and my disabled Mum. The whole idea was to give Mum a holiday and for her and us to have the opportunity to spend valuable time with the rest of the family who are working away or are at university. What we didn't expect was for all of us to have such a fantastic time. The views from the villa are out of this world, so good we didn't really want to do anything else but gaze at them or go very far away. In fact we did go on a few trips and walks. We went into the Sierra Nevada, Granada, down to the beach and hyper market and explored many of the local villages, all of which were absolutely lovely, but on our return we all felt that the best views were right on our doorstep. The villa was fully equipped. We tended to eat at the villa, taking it in turns to produce BBQ's and meals eaten under the stars overlooking the hillsides lit by village lights and on a couple of occasions by firwork displays. Siestas were taken in the cool lounge or bedrooms, sometimes in front of a video. This holiday was a complete get away from it all, rest and recuperate holiday. We did very little but sleep, read, talk, eat and drink. We were able to get my wheel chairbound Mum into the pool by sitting her in a pool chair and carrying her down the steps, surrounding her with floats and floating her into the water. After some trepidation, on our part as well as hers, she was able to float unaided in the water and became independantly mobile for the first time in 10 years. It was great to see this and once she realised how easy it was to scull around the pool, floating in the cool water, sucking on pieces of melon we couldn't get her out! The pull to return to Lake Vinuela next year is very strong - so who knows.....

July 2008

2 Surrey Couples! Guildford, UK
Review Submitted: July 30, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We stayed at this property for a week in July and would highly recommend it. The villa was exactly as described, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the pool and views were fantastic. We meant to go sightseeing but didn't end up moving from the poolside as the view across the valley was so amazing.

Miguel's restaurant is well worth visiting, as is the large hypermarket en route from Malaga airport. Eileen provides plenty of directions to get you there, as well as some provisions to get you started. We hope to return.

Hi I have been to stay at this Villa three times now with my wife two cousins and my disabled neice and it has had the same effect every time the views are wonderful it is a great place to relax and absorb the scenery just watching the many birds Eagles, Kites and the swifts wheeling around at head height and drinking from the pool in flight if your into flora and fauna there are documented local walks you can go on.

If you want to get out and about it is well placed to drive to Grenada,Seville,Cordoba etc and of course Malaga which is well worth a visit.

If you don't want to go far there's El Torcal,Comares,Nerja I could go on but I am sure you get the idea, there are plenty of places to go out for a meal and good shops in Velez-Malaga.

I feel I should add something about the Villas suitability for the disabled everything is on one level in the Villa the easiest door to use for a wheel chair is the front door it has a step but it is small once out you can access the pool quite easily, I will tick the box to recommend this property for people with disabilities but you must contact the owner about specific requirements and whether it is possible to accommodate your particular disability I know at least in this case they will be both helpful and understanding.

Chill-Out Retreat

Review Submitted: June 5, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We were looking for a place to relax, re-charge the mental batteries and spend some time with friends - this villa did not disappoint in any way. The advance information and service provided by the owner and local agent was very helpful. The property was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with stunning views from all angles. It is set in a very peaceful, private area, not too close to other properties and is in easy travelling distance of shops and the coast. All in all, an essential 'bookmark' on your web favourites list!

My wife and three children had a perfect holiday. Everything went according to plan. Both Eileen (owner) and Dee (who manages the propertly locally), were so accomodating and friendly.
Property is in a perfect location, is clean and well maintained. View in the morning is fantastic.
Looking forward to returning this year.
