Great place for a break

This is a location to die for and the apartment lives up to all the claims.
After finding the bed, cunningly hidden in a cupboard, we set about enjoying the view from the balcony and sinking a couple of sundowners and enjoying a meal bought from the local shops.
The proximity of Vence itself with its historical streets and produce shops plus amazing restuarants made it a pleasure to return 'home' after a day sightseeing.
The accessibility of the medieaval villages, and the Cote d'Azur make it a perfect place for a quiet week or so without the hustle and bustle of the coast and yet within 30 minutes of all of that!
The apartment is very tastefully decorated, has everything you need and is highly recommended.

Mike & Dawn from Sydney Australia
27th Sept - 16th Oct 2009.

We loved every minute of our stay in "our home" in Vence. Your apartment, Lindsay was so wonderfully welcoming and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need and yes we borrowed your shopping trolley once or twice and even your umbrella on one occasion. It was great to stroll into the olde village 3 or 4 or 5 times a day and just enjoy the atmosphere and buy our baguettes, cheese, wine, fresh vegies from the market stalls and whatever else took our fancy.

In the evening we often sat on the balcony watching the planes fly in & out of Nice and enjoyed the changes in the sky as the late afternoon changed into evening, whilst feasting on a luscious pizza from just up the road along with a glass of wine.

We went on many walks - to St.Paul de Vence and back on several occasions - Tourettes sur Loup and back - col de Vence - and several others and discovered a number of interesting tracks.

The apartment is so well located - bus to Nice at the door - only a couple of minute's stroll to the "village" and within a short drive to the mountains and the sea.

A great holiday, in your great apartment in our favourite place in France.

Great place to stay!

We spent a great week in this apartment in Vence. It was really comfortable and beautifully furnished. Don't be put off by the pull down bed - it's very comfortable - much more so than a sofa bed that you often find in studio apartments.
The apartment is well located for all the amenities of the old town including some great restaurants and excellent food stores.
We travelled around the area for a week without a car and managed well. A bus to the airport and Nice stops right outside the apartment and is very cheap. Lots of lovely walks straight from the door.We particularly enjoyed the walk through the woods to St Paul de Vence. You'll find a huge amount of information in the apartment about local attractions.
Highly recommended!

The property was everything it claimed to be. Charming, convenient location, great views, clean & well equipped.
In addition, the attention to detail by the owner was great. She left lots of local information & provided more support online & on the phone.
We would love to stay there again!

A lovely apartment with great views

We stayed at this apartment in early March 09 and were delighted with our choice. Clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and well-maintained with an excellent use of space ( comfortable and easily managed wallbed) and excellent facilities ie DVD player, dishwasher etc.We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed many lunches on the sunny and airy balcony. Although we already knew Vence and loved its provincial feel, this time we also made the most of the lovely walks centered on and around the town . There was a good supply of information on the area in the flat and Lindsay provided us with additional data. If you are a foodie, Vence provides wonderful delis full of local specialities and the restaurants are pretty good ( we had a great couscous royal at the Victoire brasserie on the main square). Pre-trip, Lindsay provided us with lots of very useful information which helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. All in all , we would not hesitate to recommend this flat and area and we hope to be able to enjoy another stay there in the future.

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment - it really was more like a home than a rental property - spotless, tastefully furnished and with every conceivable comfort. The payment and adminstration was really smooth and the owner gave us lots of practical advice about places to visit and restaurants etc. Vence is beautiful - historic and picturesque - but we spent most of our evenings on the wonderful balcony, enjoying the tranquillity and the amazing view and dining on local delicacies. We stayed without a car, which is easy, but you need to organise your timetables. This apartment really is something special - we thoroughly recommend it!

Apartment Vence - 2 rooms 54 sqm

Review Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
This apartment is a short walk from walls of old town. Its in a good location and suitable for couples. It is very clean and well equipped especially if you are using Vence as a base for travelling east and west along the coast. A car is recommended if your stay is longer than a week as bus travel is slow as typical journey on bus to Nice is 1 hour. The old town is lovely for meals and while there are no typical bars there are cafe style bars to sit out and relax until approx 1 am in morning. there is no pool with this apartment but there is a local pool about 150 meters to left of apartment which is clean and has grass area to lie out. This apartment is more for a couple than a family as on 3rd floor and no lift only stairs. It is south facing so gets sun from mid-day right through until approx 8 pm in evening in summer.
Owner's Response: Very pleasing that people do seem to very much enjoy my apartment in Vence and appreciate the great location, atmosphere, sun, views and comfort of the flat. My home rather than just an bare rental investment and so I hope much nicer for a visitor than coming back to a hotel room. One comment on the last review, I would like to say that there are indeed 'typical' bars in and around the old 'Vielle Ville' historic walled city of Vence. These are the 'local bars' as Vence is still, thankfully, a lovely unspoilt town with a big local population. Perhaps visitors tend not to go into the local bars? The bigger brasseries and cafe's also have bars inside and these too I would say are 'typical'. Hope that helps. The Owner.

wonderfull apartment in great location

Review Submitted: February 13, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
My husband and I stayed with our 2 year old daughter in this apartment in July 2007. The apartment is very well furnished, has a great balcony with a wonderfull view of the bay and mountains and is very spacious. We slept in the double bed in the livingroom and our daughter slept in a babycot in the kitchen area. Because the apartment is quite spacious, we did not have any problems with this solution. The location is great if you want to visit the nearby towns, go to the beach, Cannes, Nice, Villefrance, Monaco or go for a trip to the mountains and the Loup. However you must have a car in order to get around.
The owner was very helpfull with questions and the guest book in the apartment helped us locate great places to see and eat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tastefully decorated apartment. It was so enjoyable to come "home" everyday to such a well equipped and comfortable homebase. The apartment is ideally situated to explore the surrounding villages and an easy bus ride to the CoteD'Azur. Vence is an alive town with markets and great restuarants so we could choose to eat out or prepare a gourmet dinner in the well equipped kitchen. We also appreciated sitting out on the small deck soaking up the sunshine with a glass of wine. The owner was so helpful with the rental arrangements and even organized a ride from Nice as our plane didn't arrive till 1 am. As you can see, we would highly recommend this apartment for anyone who would like to explore this part of France.
