August 2009 Holiday with friends

~True Blue Pete Bishop's Stortford, England
Review Submitted: August 26, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Having read the other reviews before departure our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. The description was spot on and the pictures do not tell lies in this instance.

The villa is so clean and well equipped we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone (already have actually).

It's so peaceful you forget the time of day in the hot Algarve sun.

You do need a car though. It is essential for even the basics such as shopping and the beaches. All are within a few minutes drive though.

Special mention should go to Lesley and the local rep Anna. Both are extremely friendly and helpful.

Just book it!

Casa Portugeezer - May 2009

JJDTFE United Kingdom
Review Submitted: July 2, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We are a family of six who visited Casa Portugezer at the end of May 2009. By the time we actually arrived in Portugal I had spoken to the villa owners Lesley and Tony a number of times. Lesley obviously loves the area and her enthusiasm is contagious. By the time you arrive you know most of her family members life stories and every place you visit will seem familiar due to the tales she passes on. The villa itself is stunning. Its not too remote - a small modern community of nice villas. However Lesleys back garden could be miles from anywhere. It is not overlooked and the views are spectacular. Other than my own four children, sometimes the only noises you heard all day were the church bells and the goat herder who passed twice a day.(honestly!) The villa is literally about a 5 minute drive to the coast and the beaches are superb. The villa is simply furnished to a very high standard. Not a single naff plastic flower arrangement in sight! Its very child friendly and Lesley is very realistic that occasionally accidents do happen. She refused to take payment for a broken lamp that one of my children had knocked over. The house is full of every convenience that you could need - from tupperware to binocuars, to hairdriers to multiple sets of crockery. I really can not fault it. We had a fantastic week and shall definitely be going back next year.
When we arrived at the villa we were met by Anna. She manages the house for Lesley and meets you when you first arrive. She is a mine of local information and seems to genuinely not mind an odd 'can you tell me where?' phone call. One of children had an accident while we were in Portugal and needed hospital treatment. Anna was superb. We called her in a panic asking where the local hospital was. Because it was difficult to find she dropped what she was doing and met us en-route to show us where to go. She then stayed with us to translate until our son was patched up. Thank you Anna - you're a star!

My only advice that I can offer to anybody thinking about booking this villa is to book for a fortnight. We only went for a week and it really wasn't long enough.

2nd to None

Review Submitted: May 21, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
As the title suggests, the villa is 2nd to None.
Excellent facilities, good privacy, spacey, everything you need is catered for. I really cant think of any bad points.

The owner provided every possible detail required and was so helpful. On arrival we were greeted by personnel provided by the owner, with local contact numbers if required.

The villa is placed in a good location, with easy access (very short drive) to local historic interest, excellent restaurants, motorway travel, and the beach. The beach by the way is superb.
Spain is also accessible within 10 - 15 minutes from this location, we had a local trip to Spain for lunch, and a separate day trip to Seville.

We were a party of 6 adults and a 2 year old child. There was plenty of room so we didn't get under each others feet, there are separate tables and chairs outside each bedroom, all private to each other, but all overlooking the swimming pool. There are also 2 common area's where we could all join in for lunch and refreshments outside.
Internally was also very spacious and spotlessly clean, with TV, DVD, and satellite also catered for.

I 100% recommend this holiday, its not to be missed.
I really cant wait to book up again next year.

Early Holiday

Review Submitted: April 30, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We were a party of six adults and as usual apprehensive about the property we had only seen on the web but all our doubts were swept aside as the villa looked even better in real life and we were given a warm welcome and guided tour on arrival by Anna Marie. I suppose it helps when the weather is good so early in the year but it is really a stunning property.
Before going we were e-mailing Lesley and Tony almost every week asking for information on the locality and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The villa was equiped with everything we needed and a lot of extra things we were not expecting, some of our party even managed a swim in the pool even this early in the year.
We would certainly recommend this property to friends and would love to go back although I would say that a car is a necessity if you want to spend time away from the villa. We particularly liked Tavira about 30 mins drive and the local beaches are very good also.
We had a great time and were sorry we had only booked for a week.

2008 Summer Holiday

summerbreak Shropshire
Review Submitted: October 7, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
This year our party (my mother, my 8 year old daughter, my friend and her 10 year old daughter) chose a completely new location and property.

The website is so vast and most of the properties take your eye....but Casa Portugeezer really did! I liaised with the owner (Lesley) initially by telephone and she was so helpful on all aspects.

The holiday details were simplified tremendously with the help of Lesley who offered suggestions with airlines and car hire.

The villa itself was perfect - bedrooms really were a good size and all have French windows opening directly on to the lawns. The terraces were huge and space for all. The kitchen facilities were great too and such a good size.

The location is convenient for motorway access and near enough to the town, yet retains the rural feel. Mostly the only sounds we could hear (apart from the children's laughter) were the goats and the church bell.

Monte Gordo is a lovely town and some great restaurants too. Tavira is gorgeous - but busy so go early! We also visited Aqualand (even my mother!). Fantastic day, but ensure you arrive by 9.45am as it does get busier later in the day.

Our August holiday was perfect and we will definitely consider Casa Portugeezer again for the future.

Villa Portugeezer

Review Submitted: September 14, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
30th July - 15th Aug 08.
We found this to be the most tranquil and relaxing setting for a holiday villa, with beautiful views. The villa itself was spacious, well maintained, very clean and well equipt. Andrew & Else were friendly, welcoming and helpful during our stay. We found a car to be essential. We visited a number of attractions, all about an hours drive away. These included Zoomarine, Aqualand and Go-karting. (Details of places to visit are available in the villa.) we also had a couple of day trips to saville, which is approx a 90 minute drive. local Restaurants had good menus which catered for children. We had an enjoyable holiday which we would recommend.

Casa Portugeezer - 2008 - July 20th to 29th

Lurchio Ipswich, Suffolk, UK
Review Submitted: August 13, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Always a bit of a gamble when picking a Villa of the net....will it be as it looks, is it overlooked, is it peaceful etc etc. Well we (family of four, Mum, Dad, eight yr old boy and 3.5 yr old girl) picked Casa Portugeezer and we were very happy with the result. It is as it says it is and more: spacious lounge with TV, DVD, Satelite, nice dining area with table for at least eight if you need it. The kitchen is modern and very clean - all you need. Bedrooms are a good size - we only used two as the kids slept in the same room (twin double beds!) and we had the en suite. There are two good sized bathrooms downstairs(including the en suite) and both are very well presented and very clean, with another WC upstairs equally well done.Bedrooms are without clutter and of course the whole villa has tiled floors.
Pool is great and we really used it a lot. Eating outside with wonderful view and beautiful weather - we rarely saw any clouds with the temperature around 30-32C every day. Beaches in the area are long and sandy and the sea temperature was quite warm - nice for the kids to swim/paddle in.
We were welcomed on arrival and all was explained to us re the Villa and where to go for provisions and to eat out if we wanted. Local supermarket is only a few minutes in the car and there are plenty of others if you go a little further.
We flew to Seville in Spain and drove which was approx 150kms and took around 90 minutes - roads were good and it is easy to find.
I'm happy to recommend this Villa as an ideal place for a family holiday, and we had a very relaxing time from start to finish.

A wonderful villa with stunning views. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and the villa and views exceeded all expectation. Casa Portugeezer was superbly equipped - lots of little extra touches that we had not expected. The surrounding area is beautiful and the beaches are second to none. Lots of quaint and typical places to visit. Plenty to do to keep our children entertained along with lots of great food & fantastic weather - a great holiday had by all. Looking forward to returning
