Great place to stay

Review Submitted: November 18, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Just returned from two weeks stay this property, it was a terrific place to stay, the house was lovely, clean and very well looked after. The main attraction for us was the proximity to the beach, we had a 4 year old with us and she had a great time, the buckets, spade and paddling pool that was provided were a great job. The fact that the property had an enclosed patio was excellent. We did not have a car but the tram is very convenient and very cheap. The Jet set bar was a great place to eat and the staff are lovely. Congratulations to Kate and Domnic this is a great place to stay. We will definately stay there again and recommend it to others.

We are first timers at Kate & Domnics lovely holiday home.A very well equiped, clean & maintained house which caters for everyones needs.Beautiful beach where the waves are great fun & addictive. The pool area is clean and quiet allowing everyone to enjoy their own space. The jetset bar is so welcoming Christine & Steve make you feel so welcome where we enjoyed good hearty food.We did not hire a car & found it so easy to get around using the trams, visiting all attractions from Alicante to Benidorm. All in all a terrific family break. We will definately be recommending to our friends & family! Peter,Alison and boys.

Relaxing Holiday

This is the 5th year we have been to this well equiped property. There is a spacious patio area where you can relax. The beach is just across the road where you can laze in the sun or swim in the warm mediterrean sea. This year we travelled up to Calpe which was well worth a visit . Lots of restaurants along the promenade. Altea is our favourite place to eat out with lots of restaurants in the square beside the church.
Campello is a five minute drive with lots of supermarkets and a good range of shops.
The Jet Set Bar is a short stroll from the property where you can dine overlooking the small bay . The food is good and Christine and Steve are always very welcoming .
All in all a totally chill out time. Cannot wait to go back.

Good, if you like it quiet

The property was very clean and well kept, and if you just want a short break to relax this is fine. You do get a sea view, but is is partially obscured by construction work which has been abandoned, and there is a huge unused crane which dominates the skyline! On the one day, we had an incredible amount of noise from workers on the land adjacent to the property with diggers and landfill, as they were sorting the sewerage system, and had to leave the property as we could not hear ourselves think! The work was supposed to have been completed the week before, but the dates given as to when the work was being done mean nothing to them. Other than that, it was very quiet.

Facilities are minimal - the nearest supermarket is two kilmoeters away and an uphill walk - so unless you don't want to use the tram to get your shopping, then a car is necessary. The local supermarket closed recently due to a lack of trade. The tram runs regularly, but stops running about 10.30 at night, so if you want a drink after that then youm are really restricted to the one bar in the resort or on the patio, listening to the sea.

Overall, good for a short break and for peace and quiet. We found it very restful for a week, but if we had been there for a fortnight, we would have been a little bored.

I would rate my experience in this property as 5/5. The photos matched how beautiful it was and we hope to go back there in the summer. We had a barbecue on the patio, looking out to the sea..fantastic.

Many thanks to Kate and Dominic, we have just had a perfect long weekend in this property. Located the villa relatively easy with sat nav, we didnt have a map so kinda guessed a bit but found it ok. We were met by Judy who was very informative and friendly. The villa has superb amenities, everything you could think of it was there for us. We also felt so safe, staying with two small children, the villa has electronic gates entry and secure shutter bars for if you want to windows open in the heat and not worry that the children are safe, we loved the property, fantasic view of the sunrise every morning (yes we were up that early, kids!!). Location wish is was great, easily assessable to the main highway taking you by car to the popular resorts (ie, Villa joyosa, El Campello, Benidorm etc) very quickly, and also 3 minute walk to the tram/train station which took us up the cost to Calpe, next time we'll go on to Denia. Very impressed with Calpe, much different to the touristy other resorts listed above. Overall definately recommend, and felt very welcome and at home in the villa and area! Thanks to the McCann's for a great base for our trip, definately hope to stay again in the future.

Recommendation for an excellent property

If you are looking for a holiday destination away from it all but still within reach of the bright lights then look no further. The beach is only 30 meters away from the front door. Likewise, if you want to visit Benidorm, Alicante, or any resort in between the tram is just a short walk away & runs every 30 minutes. If you just want to lounge around in the sun there is a garden area with sun lounges & chairs available. There is bar & restaurant within a very short walk. We have spent many years going to Spain & can say this is amongst the very best we have used.

This holiday has been the best yet, as this was my third time to visit this property I think it is appropriate to write a review. The building works across the road having now been completed the atmosphere is again quiet and relaxed.
This location is truely superb as you have train and bus connections close by. We have always enjoyed a day out to Campello with all its resturants and a beautifull marina,
promanade with palm trees and miles of white sand. The new train now drops you right in the centre of Alicante with all its shops yipee !!!!!.

We ahve just spent 5 days in this lovely well equipped house near the sea.The Weather was great for january and a welcome break from uk Winter weather.
Building works across the road but didn't bother us too much.
Veta Lanuza itself is peacful and quiet - not suitable if you want a lot of night life but perfect if you don't want noise.
Good views to the sea.
Tram not far and the service is good and cheap.
I would recommend visiting Altea, Calpe and Javea.
El campello is quite an ugly town but the beaches are nice.
Alicante is also big and ugly for the most part but the older streets are lovely and Town hall etc the castle is very much worth a visit.
