The perfect villa for two families

Villa Christina is a beautiful villa on a quiet and peaceful urbanisation, just outside Nerja. I must admit to being slightly worried that it would be noisy and very overlooked but apart from a few days of lively music from a nearby family, there was no problem. The villa itself was perfect, with breathtaking views and was spotlessly clean. Many thanks to John and his team for all their hard work.
Our party consisted of 4 adults and 4 children/teenagers and although I hate to admit it, the Sky TV was an absolute essential for sports mad husbands and teenagers!!
The pool was fantastic and because the temperature didn't drop below about 38 degrees we tended to spend most of the day lounging around the pool, enjoying the odd glass or two of wine!
The evenings were the best time to go out as the heat was more manageable then and there are some lovely restaurants and shops in Nerja and Frigliana, which we enjoyed visiting.
We did have a slight problem with one of the air conditioning units, but as soon as I notified John, he organised an engineer to visit. Unfortunately, it couldn't be fixed until the end of our visit, but these things happen, and apart from mopping up the leaking unit each morning, it didn't spoil our holiday.
I agree with some of the other reviewers, a car really is essential, especially in August when it is just too hot to walk any distance. The children preferred to visit Burriana beach because of the choice of water sports there and to walk would have been just too much! You need to get there early though to be able to park, so I should aim to arrive there by 11.00 at the latest, otherwise you face a long walk!
All in all, a fantastic holiday and I'm sure we'll be looking to return one day in the not too distant future.

Owner's Response: So glad you loved the Villa and the views. Ladera del Mar is an established and quiet urbanisation, so offers a peaceful holiday where you can quite happily stay in the Villa for days and have everything you need with the pool and bbq. For those who prefer to do lap swimming the communal pool is set in pretty gardens overlooking the sea and is for the sole use of the residents and their guests. Nerja at night is wonderful for families and couples alike, with so much choice of restaurants, tapas bars and the best ice cream parlours and coffee shops ever! My favourite is Anahi. It's a pleasant little cafe to have breakfast at with outside seating. Its attraction is that it has hot chocolate and churros, both delicious and a popular breakfast or mid-morning snack for Spaniards. It’s also a great café to pop into in the evening after dinner for a wonderful cup of coffee, a liqueur and a great choice of cakes. Nerja has all this but still maintains that quaint Spanish feel. There are often street entertainers on the Balcon de Europa in the evenings and the pony & carriage rides are always popular. We're sorry you had a problem with the air con unit in one of the bedrooms. Engineer has now serviced all the air con units, so all should now be ok again, and thanks for being understanding - these things do happen from time to time but our Managing Agent John is always just a phone call away to sort out any problems as soon as possible. We do always recommend a car as there are so many lovely places to visit during a stay in Nerja, and it does get very hot during July & August. Burriana Beach is fantastic for the kides and teenagers alike with loads of water sports to choose from. There is also a place called 'Adventura' located here. You can book many activities there from horse riding, fishing and water sports to day trips further afield. So glad you had a great time and we hope you will visit us again.
