Perfect Location

Absolutely perfect. The sun shone every day and it was consistent at around 28 degrees. The apartment is on a small residential complex with great views all round. It's in a very quiet location but close enough to explore the nightlife if you feel the need. It's very well fitted out with all the comforts of home. A 5 Euro taxi ride takes you into Puerto Rico. I went one evening but it's a bit too busy and 'in your face' for me. The Europa centre is an easy 10 minute walk away and is full of bars, restaurants and shops which are, sometimes, a little pushy but not as bad as Puert Rico. Amadores, on the other hand, was great. Great white sand beach and the restaurants in the evenings catered for all tastes. Further afield is Mogan which is very pretty and well worth a visit. There are boats from P. Rico regularly. Another must is the dolphin boat from P. Rico. They guarantee you will see dolphins and if not, then you get a free trip. We must have seen fifty! This was my first trip to G. Canaria and I count my blessings I booked 13 Vista Golf. I will definitely be back. It was so laid back compared to Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas. If I were to offer one word of warning it would be that G.Can is VERY hilly and so a car is a must for me. Although there were some Norwegians who seemed to delight in walking up and down. To sum up then I thoroughly recommend Gran Canaria and particularly Vista Golf.

Owner's Response: That's pretty hot for late autumn - we've just had a beautiful week late November, 23 or 24 degrees C and sunny all day - couldn't be better.

Beautiful Holiday Home with Fantastic Views

Review Submitted: May 13, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We stayed here for 1 week in April 2009, a quiet relaxing break without the kids - it was wonderful! The apartment is very well furnished, spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Nice to have a double bed! The views of Amadores Beach from the Balcony are stunning. We picked up a car at the airport which we used the whole week, it worked out really reasonable and would definitely recommend. We had the pool to ourselves the whole week. Plenty of nice places to eat nearby, would recommend Oscars del Puerto at Puerto Rico Harbour and the Harbour at Puerto de Mogan also has some lovely restaurants. We picked up our weekly supply of drinks & nibbles from the 24 hour supermarket at the Atlantico Shopping Centre which isn't far from the Airport, worth a visit if you have a car.

13 Vista Golf

Perfect 1 bedroom Apartment for Puerto Rico. It is not located in the louder and lively main city centre, but positioned high up in the next valley. Views to beach and to the mountains north are stunning. Within easy walking distance of Europa Centre but away from late night noise.
Apartment cosy and clean and pool is also clean and "refreshing".
We had a car, but buses are frequent to Amadores beach and to the shops.
Would definitely go back.
We went with another couple who used apartment 14 so it was ideal proximity and some privacy as well. Great set up

Vista Golf

Stayed at Vista Golf from 30/03/09 to 07/04/09. Weather was excellent throughout. Nice breeze when sunbathing at the pool, which we had to ourselves for the entire week!!
Amadoras beach is fantastic but very busy on a weekend, I was really hoping to see dolphins, but no joy!
Even took the 10 euro boat trip to Mogan (inc sailing through the dolphin zone) which was well worth the money - but still no dolphins, maybe next time!!
The apartment is very clean and spacious, also lovely and quiet, but only a 5 min walk to the Europa centre which seems to be suffering due to the euro. Expect to pay 4 euros for a glass of wine in the bars and 3-5 euros for a loaf of bread in the local supermarket!! The Irish Bar in the Europa centre was the busiest place, with live music and dancing. I would highly recommend staying at 13 Vista Golf, a fantastic apartment in an ideal location.

Owner's Response: Local convenience stores, just as at home, can be expensive. If you have a car, pop into the Carrefour supermarket on the way from the airport and stock up at cheap prices (wine from two euros, and it's not bad!). Bar prices vary with the time of day and the mood of the owner, so ask first! And if you do stay in and eat on the terrace, that view is so bewitching...

just returned from another 3 weeks at No 13 vista golf, had a couple of dull days but overall the weather was brilliant.
The apartment again was first class, we spent a lot of time on the balcony as it a really good size with full sun from morning till night.
Whilst walking on amadores beach we saw the dolphins at the sea entrance, if you are looking for a good restarunt and night out call at ellington bar at the puerto plata hotel halfway down the hill on the right, also at puerto mogan opposite the taxi rank 50yd down the street is a spanish bar/restarunt where the owner plays the guitar and sings.
We left the cards on the notice board in the apartment.

Could it be this good?

Was this as good as all previous reviews state? The simple answer is yes and more. The weather is what you expect in Gran canaria and there are always views.-but rarely from a balcony which has continual sun and a view of beach and sand.
It was a pleasure dealing with the owners-from the first enquiry throughto directions to Vista Golf, the reception from Pat and the very prompt refund of deposit. You are also aware that they want your feedback to further improve.
The entrance to the complex is interesting but most welcome was the reserved parking spot which again is a bonus in Gran Canaria.Perhaps we are lazy but a car seemed essential
The apartment is very well appointed with several bonuses of libraries including his/her fiction and a seperate touristy guides/maps.The spiral stairs were interesting after a few bevvies but with the bedroom/ main entrance on the upper decks no suitcases needed to be manhandled down.Plenty of storage space in the bedroom
You basically have a choice of two local eating areas-the Europa Centre which is basically a flat walk but is reminiscent of a Magaluf/Torremolinas or the Amadores Beach front restaurants. As elderly bofs this suited us,While there are several very acceptable restaurants we would recommend Ciao Beach for both service and food.We also noticed a significant price difference at these restaurants than those at the more trendy Puerto Mogan. Certainly visit Puerto Mogan, lunch there but eat away from the harbour area.If you are more into self catering the local supermarkets (Spar and Netto ) in the Amadores area are significantly higher than Carrefour just of the GC!
If you want to go to Puerto Rico the most leisurely way-is to park (free) on the Amadores beach front and take the gentle cliff walk round to Puerto Rico harbour -then comes the fun of avoiding the camera sellers and "have you visired Anfi yet" questions. Just smile and indicate you are from Kazakstan.
Would I recommend this to a friend- when I find one I will

Owner's Response: That's why we love it! Yes, some of the restaurants in Puerto de Mogan are a bit pricey, but our favourite La Tortuga is waterfront, and very reasonable with a free starter/appetizer and excellent house wine. Nearer home, it's worth taking a 3 euro taxi ride down to the main commercial centre and choosing one of the many restaurants upstairs, sit out in the open under the stars. It's a bit more hectic than Amadores Beach, but mighty cheap - 3 courses for 8 euros in Churassco's for example.
Oh, and the stairs at the house just have a single turn - must have been a good evening!

My husband and I have just returned from 2 weeks holiday at Vista Golf. our stay was 14th July - 28th July 2008.
We had a lovely time in Gran Canaria, the apartment was just as you see on the web site clean, & tidy with all the equipment you need for a self catering hoilday.
The location was good for exploring the island we hired a car as recommended by the owner and it was well worth doing. It is also very relaxing by the pool and a great lttle sun trap for working up your holiday tan.
Do visit Puerto De Mogan it is a beautiful harbour town with lots of good places to eat and a nice beach.

The apartment was an excellent base for our first trip to Gran Canaria. The accommodation was spacious, clean and well stocked with plenty of towels and utensils. The views were fantastic and we would recommend this to our friends.
