The flat was very clean & came with all the neccessary items to make the stay enjoyable. The kitchen has a balcony which allows breakfast to be enjoyed in the sun.

There is a street market every other day, around the corner, selling fresh fruit & veg

The property is only a 10min walk from the beach & train station

Owner's Response: Thank you to Donald for your succinct comments. He and his teenage daughter rented our flat last July for a week and he contacted me a month ago to book the flat for just under a week in May this time for him and his partner. Good to read that he appreciated the flat.

I learnt that I need to sign my guide books for visitors to use during stay as his daughter left with our copy thinking it was hers. They posted it back immediately on return. Thanks Marylise

Octobre in Nice

Review Submitted: October 31, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Our Review:
We spent a week in this flat on Gambetta. It was easy to co-operate with Mrs K. Everything in the flat was just like she had discribed. The neighbourgs were helpfull and friendly. At the streetcorner there was all the shops we ned. The bus-connections were good: busses number 7 and 4 goes to Old Nice and center and bus 23 to the airport just few steps from the door! We also found a gym: at the end of Boulevard Cessole ( World Gym Center ).

We suggest!

Arvio:
Löysimme myös kuntosalin : Boulevard Cessole päässä ( World Gym Center ).

Suosittelemme!

The apartment is in a lovely Art Deco building, as described. Very elegant and safe entrance, and wonderful antique lift to the fourth floor! Everything you would need, and lovely features, i.e. marble and parquet floors, and two gracious balconies, big enough to sit and look over the rooftops, or over the town and the mountainside. Very good position, and situated on a lovely authentic boulevard, with ample shops and transport.

Commend the apartment for its large selection of guidebooks and reading material which is good if the weather should change. UK owner very helpful when contacted. Other good point is that the sofa bed is extremely easy to put up, and very comfortable.

Would recommend this highly, and in addition the pricing is excellent value.

Me and my family had á super holiday in Nice, the appartment on Boulevard Gambetta was perfect. Bakery, butcher, shop, busstop just outside the door. When we not used the bus there was á nice walk to the beach, 20 minuts and then bath in the turquoise sea. From the appartment it took 10 min to walk in to the shopping street and trainstations. Two rooms, big enough for four/five people to live and eat.

We stayed in the appartment July 2009 for a week. The appartment is situated about 15 mins walk from central Nice and ideally located for the train station. There is a bus stop outside the front door that enables travel all over Nice for a Euro, also two streets away is a tram stop. The appartment is in a lovely old block, it is ideal for a self catering holiday as cooking and washing facilities are provided. There are balconies on both sides of the building so there is sunshine all day, the beds are very comfy. There are bars and restaurants in the local vicinity minutes walk away so ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of central Nice. Nice is a fabulous place for sight-seeing, shopping and beach... the appartment suited out needs perfectly.

Gambetta apartment

Pitchfords Manchester
Review Submitted: September 27, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Apartment was fair for price and was in more remote area of Nice, though had reasonable access to public transport once found our way around. The apartment was dusty on arrival and was basic. There was a leak from the flat above in the bathroom and there was a lot of noise from the surrounding appartments. The wooden bathmat broke due to being rotten, nearly causing an accident. Over expectation of cleaning appartment by selves when leaving , despite paying a cleaning fee to owners.
Owner's Response: As do all conscientious owners of property who let, we welcome feedback from those who have experienced living in our flat. Our response to feedback is always to use comments to improve provision and information for future clients.

Remote area of Nice:
The flat is in central Nice yet away from the tourist hubbub; it is just behind the proposed New Town Hall and a 2-minute walk from Nice's daily food street market; it is a 10 minute walk from the SNCF train station and a 4-minute walk to the Train des Pignes station for trains into the mountains; it is a 5-minute walk to the new tram stop and a 1-minute walk to a bus stop from where it is only minutes to the sea front should you not wish to enjoy the 15-minute walk . It is always made clear when asked that the flat is not on the sea front nor in the old town.

Basic:
The flat has all basic facilities provided to a high level of effectiveness. The flat is in an art deco block and wherever possible has been renovated to retain original features. It is used as a family home when not being let, so has additional items (eg pictures, antiques, period furnishing and fittings, floorings) not usually found in "basic" rental accommodation.

Apartment dusty:
There is the expectation that the flat will be left "as you would wish to find it". In order to ensure that that expectation translates into an acceptable high standard of cleanliness/tidiness for the incoming client someone is employed to visit the flat and ensure it is brought to that standard. The complaint about dust has been brought to her attention.

Leak from flat above:
The leak was unfortunate and regrettable, but clearly beyond our control. Its cause has been addressed.

Noise:
We have learned that it is noisier living in the flat (people above, below and next door on two sides) than in our London terrace. Noise levels vary according to sub-letting patterns in the block and possibly for other reasons that are beyond comprehension. Previous client-feedback has rarely mentioned noise being intrusive.

Wooden bath mat:
It is regrettable that the wooden bathmat came apart and I am pleased that noone was injured because of it. It will be replaced.
