Perfect holiday

Memese Budapest, Hungary
Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Dear Jane,

we're so happy that we found your villa. It was a good feeling from the beginning that i always got quick answers from you, for all my questions.
As we arrived to the villa, we know, that was a good choice. Beautiful garden, nice, clean villa, well-equipped kitchen. Paleokastritsa is also fantastic! Our little son loved having holiday there too! We could do whatever we wished, just lying on the beach, going out by car, walking, sleeping!

We wish to return!

All the best, Emese
Owner's Response: Thank you Emese for my first great review of the 2009 season. I am so happy that you enjoyed yourselves and that your holiday was fulfilled. It really is a place to be enjoyed. Every year I try to upgrade what I can but still like to hold on to the simplicity that is so Greece and the charm that is so Corfu. Villa Stephanie and Villa Nola both have their separate charm and the garden is becoming a real place to relax and enjoy the evenings with the BBQ's. It is so rewarding to hear that you enjoy your holiday with us and you are very welcome again next year. Repeat visitors ofcourse enjoy a discount if they book early!
Please note: This year just a few weeks ago they blocked some of the satellite channels that we had enjoyed for free for so many years, although I do not believe TV should be too much part of a holiday I must apologise to some guests that expected a fuller range of programmes. There are still however some English channels with movies, sports and childrens programmes. I will be buying a Nova satellite for next year which has to be paid for every month.

Stunningly beautiful ........

Dec and Family Dubai, UAE
Review Submitted: January 10, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We decided we needed a complete break and found Villa Nola, Paleocastritsa, Corfu, just what we were looking for. We knew it was out of season and alot of places would be closed. Also the weather was cooler than expected but even after the rain showers when the sun came out it was very beautiful. We knew it was out of season as Jane had given us the low down and all the information we needed. The location was fabulous and very quiet which is what we wanted. The Villa was a good size for the whole family, the kitchen had all the equipment, the lounge and dining were fine and beds, baths etc TV and internet all in order, clean and comfortable. The CH kept us warm and we were ready to go for walks, drive around the stunningly beautiful island of which the area of Paleocastritsa and Villa Nola its self certainly was. There were enough tavernas open, butcher and supermarkets around. A good tip for families is a visit to the Bowling and Pool Club near town, a great time had by all and not expensive. Corfu town was just lovely , great for sightseeing and walking around. Yvonne and Jimmy the caretakers were a couple of great characters and helped us with information and settling in. The Villa, the rental car and CH was all reasonably priced and as our family wanted a quieter holiday reading and relaxing it suited us fine. An addition of a DVD player would have helped. Jane has said she would install them for this year. All in all a great holiday and well worth it. We would recommend Villa Nola to anyone in Winter and would love to visit in the Spring or Summer and we are sure it would be just as great, having the more secluded location but in reach of all the facilities you need, but you do need a car in the winter, in the summer we can see that that is not so neccessary depending on what you wanted to do. The Villa and surroundings of Paleocastritsa are a great place to chill out, we would definately love to book a visit again.

Owner's Response: My first real winter guests and they had such a good time! Yvonne and Jimmy were there to make sure everything was in order and also to let them know what was open. The winter work on the property is going well. The wooden decking platform will be finished by April and in front of the studios the new garden layout with new very large BBQ and sitting, lounging areas under the olive trees will be ready too. I am really looking forward to welcoming everyone this year as I have improved so much with the addition of satellite TV and DVD to new bathrooms and roof insulation. The platform will increase the sea view by another 200 % and will be a great place to relax, sunbathe and dine for the Villa Nola guests. Remember the price is all inclusive, I charge no extras except for heating oil in the winter. So the internet, satellite TV and extra beds etc are all free of charge. No hidden extras. If you wish to book more families at the same time I can organise a beautiful small villa just down the path from me if Villa Nola is booked. So keep those email bookings coming....We know you will have a great time with us away from the "madding crowd" but near enough to join in if need be!

Studios clean and tidy with small kitchenette. 5min to small beach. Nice BBQ area and garden.
Did not like the adjoining interior door to next door studio as you can hear neighbours...(their snoring woke me up one night). Many restaurants along the main road. Would recommend the dolphin for friendliness and value for money.
Very beautiful coast best seen from one of the many boats you can pick up at the marina.
Great walks up into the mountains and villages where the beer is half the price of the coastal bars and restaurants.

Owner's Response: The first guest that had a small complaint this year but it is true! I did not want to rent the studios separately and now I know why! Sometimes you just want to help people last minute on a late booking. From next year the studios with the connecting door will be rented together so that even a couple or a family of 2, 3, 4 or 5 persons can have both rooms, ensuring privacy. This winter we have been busy and the second, very large BBQ has been installed in the garden opposite the studios and I have made a lovely new stone low walls and steps,a beautiful flower garden and more lemon and orange trees. this part of the garden needs no gazebo as it has the shade of the olive trees, as well as the sunny spots.
For the top Villa the decking will be ready by March and will be a 6 metre x 4.5 metre area with full sea and mountain view for sunbathing and dining. The TV's have been installed both in the studios and the Top Villa with a selection of news, movies and childrens programmes. The internet facility is there for both properties. I am also having people book for winter now as I have central heating and a wood burning stove. Christmas is still availaable for the Studios if anyone is interested. Although out of season it is still a great place for walking, dining, shopping and museums in town. There is also a bowling alley. The one thing you do need is a car in the winter for shopping and to drive around. On sunny days of which there are many Corfu often looks it best in the winter as the light is so wonderful and all the vegetation is evergreen. You are definately away from the "madding crowd" and really have a peaceful holiday, ofcourse no sunbathing but I have swum until December as the sun is so warm. the temperature ranges from 8 or 9 C degrees at night to 20 C degrees during the day. Each year I am improving the facilities, the top villa is having a new roof and being painted also plumbed anew with a new shower area. Look forward to seeing you in 2009!

Very nice place

We stayed at Villa Nola studios 10 days in August.
This is a great place for a private break in a nice location.
The studios are very well equipped and Jane, the owner really have thought about everything to feel like at home. The studios are also clean and well maintained by Yvonne,a wonderful lady who is also very friendly and very helpfull.
Our favourite place was the garden.
Thank you Jane for your hospitality!

Owner's Response: August in Paleocastritsa can get crowded especially during the day with the coach visitors going to the Monestary so to have a garden like we have at the Villa is a godsend and a haven of peace with shade from the sun under the olives trees and a refreshing breeze from the mountains. The swimming pool is a very short walk down the path and there is an outside shower in the garden to refresh yourselves. I am now opting to rent the Villa Studios as one package so even if you are a couple or a family you can take the whole building with the interconnecting door and have your privacy. Therefore on the whole property there will be two renting units each sleeping from 2 to 5 or 6 persons. There will be next year separate facilities of two BBQ's and two gazebos and with all the space in the garden they are offer privacy. Dimitri, Yvonne's husband will be concentrating this winter on the garden so that next year it will be even more beautiful. The decking will also be built for the top Villa and add to the large areas for lounging, lunching and dining outside with the fabulous views. When you want to book I will send you many more photos than what are displayed to give you, the guest, a better idea. As said before Villa Nola is simple not luxury but some of the best things in life are simple! It is comfortable and homely, clean with naturally beautiful surroundings. All guests who appreciate the above and who take care when staying in someone else's property are very, very welcome.

vous nous avez portez;
même si notre relation ne fut que par email,
nous avions l'impression de
vous connaître un peu.
Philippe CHELIN
