Helliwell Family We had an excellent time at the cottage it is lovely and in such a wonderful location we even popped into the estate agents at the top of the road to see if there was anything we could buy, on reflection though that is something we will now look at maybe in a year or so!! The cottage itself was excellent, clean and very well furnished with a very pleasing amount of space. ....... Your key holder Anne was very helpful and polite. ...... Again I would just like to reiterate how much we enjoyed your cottage and our stay in Cuxac and we have already been recommending it to family and friends. July 06
Meg & John Nicholson We had such a fantastic time. You have a lovely, lovely home - we didn't want to leave. We think Carcassonne is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric places we've ever visited, and the weather was brilliant (27 degrees when we left on Sunday afternoon). The children enjoyed getting out and about - we had some lovely walks in the woods in Cuxac.

Our Autumn Break at Les Coquelicots

We found the cottage to be clean and well looked after. The cooking, heating and plumbing facilities were excellent, and parking just down the road was never a problem. There was plenty of space for our needs, and the rear garden was delightful. The instructions in the house, and the tourist information provided were particularly useful. A local English resident welcomed us and ensured that any problems could be resolved. The local grocers and bakers were within walking distance, and Carcassonne was 20 minutes drive away.
I would recommend a holiday here to any friend or relative without hesitation.

Although my review is a little late i still have great memories of a wonderful holiday in this quiet, picturesque, rural village. The cottage was lovely, very pretty, spaceous and comfortable. We all loved the garden and patio where we sat most afternoons and evenings in the warm sunshine listening to a cuckoo calling for a mate. I adored the chickens at the back who i kept fed with scraps.
The little shop in the village was well stocked and the people very friendly.
We loved the views of the allotments and the keen gardeners there every day.
We found many walks around the village and up through the woods coming out into fields with lovely views of the countryside.
A must place to visit is Carcassonne with its Fairy Tale Castle and Lastoures with its many small Turrets
We also marvelled at the wonderful array of wild flowers everywhere.
We would recommend the cottage and area to anyone and hope to make a return visit one day.

Cuxac Cabardes Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful cottage in Cuxac, the immediate surroundings are idyllic and we couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. Not only was it spotless but had everything we could have possibly needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The patio area was the perfect setting to spend a warm evening with a bottle of wine! We found the neighbours and locals very welcoming and Ann was extremely helpful. The medieval castle in Carcassonne provided fantastic views over the city and we had a fun filled day visiting the many shops, restaurants and in particular a trip around the ghost house, which is not for the feint hearted!! We would have no hesitation in recommending your cottage to friends and family as there was plenty to see and do, it caters for all.

My partner and I had a wonderful week staying in Les Coquelicots in the lovely village of Cuxac-Cabardes in July 2008. The cottage was ideal and each evening we spent sitting on the veranda drinking wine and chatting with anybody who happened to pass by. As keen gardeners we were particularly interested in watching what went on in the allotments facing us! We visited La Cite of course as well as Narbonne – brilliant market and shops, Hautpoul a fantastic village perched on a mountainside with a wonderful view across the mountains; Chateau Saissac was wonderful too. We also stopped off in Montelieu to watch a game of boulle which was fun. Overall we had a fantastic holiday taking in the history of the area, and I cooked probably the best roast lamb of my life as the produce was absolutely brilliant! It was lovely to arrive back at the cottage to unwind; to read, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the village, away from the crowds. Sorry to leave in the end, but this was a memorable holiday in a fantastic area of France. I have posted all of my holiday photographs on my Flickr webpage - search for Bertrom1 on the Flickr homepage - which I hope do justice to the holiday. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Sue and Clive F. Just to let you know we returned yesterday evening having spent 2 lovely weeks in your pretty cottage, which was so well located with its unimpeded views of the mountains and the well tended allotment plots. We were very comfortable there, loved the village and had beautiful weather, with just one days rain last Saturday.
The highlights for us were of course the beautiful city of Carcassonne, even with all the tourists, and also the Millau viaduct, which we drove over twice and visited the tourist centre both at the top and bottom...a truly remarkable feat of engineering.
We were also lucky enough to see the firework display in Carcassonne, and also last Sunday to see the Tour de France pass the village, which was great, as were the decorated cars and lorries that preceded the actual cyclists.
We are so glad we spotted your ad and will remember fondly our holiday in the Languedoc region. - July 07

Terry and Jane B. We enjoyed our holiday so much in your comfy cottage in Cuxac. The village is so picturesque and very friendly,we were so comfortable and relaxed we didnt want to leave. The cottages situation is so pleasing with gardens all round and an open aspect to the front which looks over allotments and forest. At night we could hear the owls hooting and in the morning when the sun peeped over the tree tops it filled the bedroom with sunlight. The weather was excellent just right for reading our books on the quiet patio with a nice glass of wine or two. Carcassonne was fantastic we really loved its atmosphere and restaurants,we also liked the region and found many places of interest to visit and also the Canal-Du-Midi.We would recomend your cottage to anyone Thanks very much for a really super holiday. - September 07

Fran W. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the area.....Ann was most helpful on our first day and very welcoming.... a great little cottage, providing everything we needed, we felt part of the village by the time we left - thank you so much. - October 07
