Superb villa and views in a nice quiet area

Review Submitted: May 31, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had a very relaxing week in this beautiful comfortable spacious villa with superb views. We would reccomend it to anyone visiting Luz and wanting to stay in a secluded area with plenty of space around you. Situated in an up-market area of Luz, with just a few other villas around it. Makes a change from villas that are crammed in together.

Lovely pool, pool area and gardens with a nice barbecue area on the patio.

Plenty of room for a large family, or a couple of families. With their being just two of us we 'rattled around' in the villa!

It was like 'home from home' having evrything you would ever need and more. Tim & Caroline have thought of everything for both adults and children. Bruna the maid came 3 times during our stay and was very helfpul. The welcoming wine was a lovely touch!

Very much looking forward to returning to the villa again in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks Paul and Jan - you would be welcome to return to our villa any time. Our guest book has many other comments similar to these, but it is pleasing when rental clients take the time and trouble to do a review for the Holiday Rentals website, which I am sure is helpful to prospective future renters.

Beautiful Villa in Quiet Location

LC2009 Suffolk
Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We have just spent a week in this lovely villa and would certainly recommend it to friends. The location is peaceful and although it means an uphill walk back to the villa from the village the peace more than makes up for the walk. We were looking for somewhere quiet and secluded and it fitted the bill perfectly. The villa is well equipped, clean and maintained to a high standard. There were ample sun loungers for the four of us and the pool was perfect.

Dear Tim and Caroline
Thanks for the use of you lovely villa. We had a fantastic holiday and the villa was a home from home. Very private and quiet with everything we could possibly need and lots of space for two families. The children had a great time in the pool and we all enjoyed BBQs in the evenings. Only a short walk into the peaceful town of Luz, where we enjoyed some lovely meals out. All in all a great family holiday with friends. We would recommend to anybody.

Casa Por Do Sol

Review Submitted: September 3, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
An excellent property, well located for both south coast and west coast algarve beaches. Indoors the house was clean and spacious with four good size bedrooms two ensuite, and two other bathrooms. A good size lounge and well appointed kitchen. Outside there is a lovely pool which was a great temperature in the summer and an eating and barbque area. There are fantastic views from the [gin and tonic] terrace of the sunset. I would thoroughly recommend this villa, one of the best I have been to.

Lovely villa, great location

Review Submitted: September 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We had a fantastic week at Casa Por do Sol. The villa itself is like home from home - comfortable, clean, spacious and attractively furnished. The pool area is great with a wall providing shelter from the wind and surrounded by a garden that is flourishing ( and looks better than in the photos!).
The location was perfect for our needs. Our 4 teenagers enjoyed walking down to the resort for water-sports, bars and cafes and were happy to pick up groceries from the small supermarket on the way back up the hill. They even caught the local bus in Lagos a couple of times.
Us oldies enjoyed the coastal walks and some of the tiny bays that were off the beaten track and spent lots of quiet time (the villa is in a really quiet area) by the pool.
We all had great fun body-boarding at some of the beaches further down the coast, which benefit from Atlantic breakers.
The local restaurants were very good, but we mostly cooked at the villa (there's a great barbecue) as the kitchen was so well equipped.
The owners were most helpful whilst booking the property and Bruna, the lady who came to clean twice during our stay, was friendly and extremely efficient.

When we arrived we found that one of the parasols around the poolside had broken. We contacted the lady who looks after the villa and she replaced it with two new parasols very quickly! We were very impressed.

We'll definitely go back if we get the chance!

September Holiday 2008

Wakker Leicester, UK
Review Submitted: September 30, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
The whole family (6 adults and 3 babies all under 1) stayed at this villa for our holiday in Sept 2008. As we had 3 babies we were rather restricted on evenings out and so as a result spent alot of time in the villa, and what a Villa! It took just over an hour drive from Faro airport and the directions given by Tim were spot on and dead easy to follow. We had 2 estate cars and parking was fine at the villa. The villa had everything we could have needed, if you didn't want to you would not have to leave. The bedrooms were all of a good size, and having 4 bathrooms (2 baths 2 showers) was great with the kids. The pool was good to have but was quite cold (but nice on the sunburn). We took a toddlers paddling pool and left it there for future guests (fill it up in the morning and it gets quite warm). The town / beach isa 15 min walk and easy going in (downhill all the way) but a climb back up especially pushing a pushchair, but not too bad. Location was great and very quiet and not overlooked whatsoever. Facilities in the Villa were great, it even had some UK TV channels, DVD, CD player, phone, full laundry facilities, dishwasher etc. We would certainly go back and I would recommend it to anyone. Weather was good late September (was 24-28 most days and only rained one afternoon). My top tip would be if you went and had a car then to do your shopping at the Intermarche in Lagos (5 min drive) rather than using the supermarket in Luz which was far more expensive. The bars / restaurants in Luz were all good (some expensive) and Lagos were worth going to. Sand City in Pera was very good, especially for families. Great holiday and could not fault the place! Fantastic

This is an absolutely fantastic villa, away from the noise of the town but within easy walking distance, though not for the infirm as it's at the top of a very steep hill. The villa is superbly equiped and was a delight to be able to stay here, the maid was excellent and we couldn't find fault with anything. I would certainly recommend this to anyone and hope I get the chance to stay here again sometime.

Owner's Response: Thanks for this very positive review - walking back to the villa from Luz is uphill, but it's not too bad! If you are reasonably fit, you would have no problem. The location does mean we have fantastic panoramic views from the villa. Tim and Caroline (owners).

'What a fantastic villa - a real home from home. We wanted for nothing - you really have thought of everything!'

'We had sun every day and the children were kept fully occupied by the pool - a very relaxing week. Thank you; we will definitely return!'

'Lagos has some superb restaurants. We spent many happy hours exploring this beautiful town. Our teenage children found some great nightlife and taxi fares for them (even at 4am!) were amazingly cheap.'

'Our first bird spotting holiday in the Algarve and we were impressed......by both the birds and your wonderful Portuguese home. Thank you for the great selection of books and CD's. We have left some of our own to help with the library. I hope we will return.'
