Dream Trip

Sharrie and Bud Michigan, USA
Review Submitted: November 20, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
The apartment was everything we were looking for as an older couple. The location was convenient, safe and with easy access to the metro and shopping. The Passages (covered areas with shops and cafes) were just across the street. There were lots of good cafes and not very expensive either. There were several outdoor markets within easy walking distance and two super markets only a few blocks from the apartment. The apartment itself had everything we needed for our seven day stay. The kitchen was well equipped and just right for preparing the few meals we ate there. The lounge area and bed were most comfortable and the apartment was very quiet. Be sure to read all the tips in the books that Sam and former residents have left as we found that most helpful. We will definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review. Delighted you enjoyed Paris, the apartment and its super location and the famous Passages in the 2e. Look forward to seeing you back soon. Very best, Sam

Perfect Paris

We spent 5 wonderful weeks in paris in Sam's unit.
It made a great base from which to enjoy the sights and experiences of the city. The unit is comfortable, clean, well fitted out and is very conveniently located with easy walking to many of the main attractions and the metro lines. The owner's assistance and advice as to what to do was very helpful. This unit made self catering an enjoyable experience when not going out. The Italian coffee shop on the corner in the gallery opposite the unit is the best in Paris. This all makes a great place to stay in Paris and still have time to relax.

lovely quaint Parisian apartment

Jackat Chilliwack, BC Canada
Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This apartment was central to restaurants, including 100 feet from Hard Rock Paris, which has great food at decent prices. The apartment was clean, and well put together. The bathroom was a good size and it was a thoughful gesture to include a blowdryer for drying my hair. There was ample amounts of both water pressure and hot water. The water tasted good was drinkable right from the tap, which I didn't think would be the case in an old building. It was lovely to look out the window and see the top of the Eiffel Tower especially at night. It was great to have an elevator as many apartments in Paris do not. Samantha is most accomodating and provided us with great tips on where to go, how to get there, and what to do ---loved the outdoor market she gave us directions to. The bed is comfortable. The description is acurate. We enjoyed the Segway Tour of Paris however note that reservations are a must and there is definately walking involved to get from the meeting point of the Sud Pillar of the Eiffel Tower and the Segway Store so if walking is an issue get the address and have a cab drop you right there for your tour. Watching the fireworks going off from the Eiffel Tower on Bastille Day July 14 was really special. It's close to metro, buses, and taxis. When staying there consider taking a full day trip out of Paris to the Palace of Versailles and Monet's Place at Giverney. It's a trip well worth it and you can be picked up and later dropped off right at the apartment's front door. Thank you Samantha and family for letting us rent your apartment, we highly recommend anyone to rent this space when coming to Paris.

Dream stay in Paris

Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This was our 2nd visit to Paris. The first time we stayed in very small apartment in St. Germaine. Sam's apartment in The Opera area was fantastic. It was large, light and and a great location. You can see the top of the Eiffel tower through window and very charming. We enjoyed reading all the tips from previous visitors and also the information left from Sam was invaluable. This time we went to the Opera, Versailles, Musee D Orsay, frequented the local market, spent time in the Palace Gardens and enjoyed great shopping nearby. The facilities in apartment terrific, bed very comfortable, and we folded up screen which seperates sleeping from living area to make it more open but you don't need to. We loved our stay in Paris and my husband and I hope to return again one day. We would totally recommend this apartment for location, comfort, friendliness and value.

A second home in central Paris

Hang Hong Kong
Review Submitted: February 27, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
It takes 10 min to get there from the Eurostar station by taxi. The studio is quiet, clean & well-maintained. Look at the guest book first as it gives you informations about the studio & nearby. It is next to 2 tube stations and not far from many attractions & department stores. Tourist books & maps are very useful. Sam's recommended restaurants serve good foods. Please make reservation first. Free IDD and internet keep you in touch with your family, friends & the world. We did enjoy the DVD while having home-made steak & soup after shopping for a whole day. We will come again with our children. Thanks Sam.

We had a great stay in Paris with this apartment very centrally located and serviced by buses at the Metro only 50 metres away.

I spent many hours researching apartments for 2 adults and 2 children to stay at and I can thoroughly receommend this property. Samantha, the owner is very friendly and helpful and helped make our stay a memorable one.

We cooked quite a bit due to the Aussie dollar being so strong :( and found a great market at Montorgueil St Denis - walking distance from the apartment and offering great fresh produce and the best pastisserie in Paris - Stohrer's, nearly 300 years in business and out of this world.

Loved the DVDs, cable and free internet access.

AAA rating!!

Great Appartment in Paris

We (2 abults and 2 Children) started for a week in October 2008. Great central location. It was all as Samantha (owner) said it would be. The place was small but I think they all are relitivly small in central Paris. For the price it was great value. Samantha could not have been more helpful, provideing lots of local information and gave us an insite into the Paris of locals.

Thanks Samantha

Quiet, convenient - even better than expected

Review Submitted: February 3, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Making the reservation - quick, easy and professional.

Arrival - Sam is a delight. She explained everything we needed to know and gave some additional information that was helpful.

The apartment - We have stayed in many apartments and hotels in Paris over the past 25 years. This apartment is spacious for a Paris studio and the bathroom/shower are way above average.

The room is bright. Believe me it is much nicer to look out at sky and rooftops than to stare at a dingy wall a few feet away.

Quiet may be the best part. Very little noise from the people in the building and ABSOLUTELY ZERO STREET NOISE! Most Paris rooms have quite a bit of noise and never in 25 years have we had a room where there wasn't at least some traffic noise, especially horns and sirens.

Can't think of a more convenient location for so many attractions in all of Paris.

You will do yourself a great disservice if you give any creedence to the single negative review. This is a gem.

Owner's Response: Thrilled you enjoyed staying at our apartment and used to the full its super location. It was a real pleasure to meet you both and hope to see you again in Paris. Very best regards, Sam

Really happy to call your apartment home

Review Submitted: January 14, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
'Your apartment has been a safe, quiet and comfortable place to stay while finding our feet in Paris.
At the end of each day we have been really happy to call your apartment home after all the
walking and gawking at such a fabulous city.''Paris is just the greatest city to wander
around and to be so central to everything was perfect''We started by trying to walk
everywhere but soon realised how fast, reliable and cheap the metro is. Guide books helped
us to quickly comprehend the way it operates and we have been impressed by the culture of
courtesy and helpfulness exhibited by Parisians! 'Parisians respond well to a smile and a
meant 'merci ... ... We have visited all the big attractions and have not had to endure appalling queues except for a 10 minute wait at Musee d'Orsay. The Louvre is mind-blowing ... A week was not enough BIG THANKS!
