Stunning villa in wonderful location

Review Submitted: June 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We have just returned from spending a wonderful week at Kera Villa. This villa is stunning - well maintained and decorated, in a beautiful location. The villa is truly a "home from home" - not just a holiday let and is well looked after by locals who are friends of the owners
I have been travelling to Greece since 1983 but can truly say that I have never stayed in accommodation as good as this. My 71 year old mother accompanied myself and my partner and although she has travelled extensively, she has never been to Greece before. She was truly delighted with the accommodation and her favourite pastime (as was ours) was to have breakfast on the patio whilst gazing at the stunning view. We did (reluctantly) leave the villa to explore the local countryside but always made sure that we returned in time to have a swim in the fabulous pool.
Peace and quiet reign supreme here - this is truly a place to "chill out" - I could feel myself relaxing after only a few hours of arriving and we really were sad to leave.
If you only ever go to Greece once, then make sure it's here - you will not be disappointed!
Owner's Response: We really appreciate it when our guests can find the time to write a review - and are always thrilled to hear that Kera Villa and its location have provided an ideal holiday location. We are already taking bookings for 2010 so if the details about the villa and the experiences of our reviewers tempt you to make a reservation please get in touch soon!

"Does everything it says on the can"

Review Submitted: October 6, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
The villa was exactly as we hoped and expected. The views are simply breathtaking. We have stayed in many villas over the years but none so well equipped and comfortable as Villa Kera. The personal touches and brilliant communications with the owner made this a perfect holiday.

Crete is a lovely island and this is the first time we have visited the western end. Almyrides is a super little town and the restaurants delightful (we tried them all). Chania is magical - we loved it.

Thanks once again, we and I am sure several of our friends will be booking again in the very near future,

Herausragende Lage für perfekte Erholung

sinful but lovely Wiesbaden, Germany
Review Submitted: September 28, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009

Beautiful villa in a stunning setting. We had a great week in Kera. The villa was everything and more. The property is a credit to the owners who could not have been more proffessional and helpful providing everything that was required to make it a great holiday. Great to have a mid week cleaning service provided. Hard to tear youself away from the villa but lots to see and do nearby or further afield if you want to explore the west of the area.

Wonderful Kera Villa

Bernie & Frank Harefield, Middlesex, UK
Review Submitted: September 15, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
If you want beautiful views, peace and quiet, a lovely big villa and a fantastic pool then Kera Villa is the place to stay. We have just spent two weeks here and had a fabulous time.
The villa, pool and gardens are all maintained to a very high standard by the local english team. The villa is extremely comfortable with lots of spaceand the kitchen is newly fitted and had everything you would need. There are various places outside to sit and enjoy the views of Kera Bay and out to sea. Sitting on one of the patios with a glass of wine watching the light fading and the moon rise, perfect!
The pool is a great size and all the same depth which is great for me as I'm not a very confident swimmer but it was also good for my husband who had plenty of room to do laps. The pool is very private and although not heated it had a minimum temperature of 76 degrees.
We didn't hire a car, so walked to the nearest towns of Almirida and Kalyves. Almirida was the smaller of the two and was about a 25 minute walk away, it had some nice tavernas on the sea front and a few food shops. We preferred Kalyves (20 Minute walk) as it was bigger and offered more choice of tavernas and shops, the seafront and beach are also nicer than Almirida. The whole area is very hilly and there are steep slopes up and down to both towns, so if you're not very fit you will probably need a car. However if you want to get fitter then this is the ideal place to do it!
We didn't do any sight seeing as it was too hard to drag ourselves away from the villa and pool. We relaxed as soon as we arrived and enjoyed every minute. We had the pleasure of meeting Pattie and Mick briefly whilst we were out there as they were visiting friends, they have done so much work on the property and it is a credit to them both.
We will definitely return in the future as we enjoyed it so much.

We stayed at Kera Villa this Summer. A wonderful house, beautiful large pool and stunning location. Extremely helpful owners. Good location to explore Western Crete. Good quality tavernas nearby in Almerida and in Vamos. Facilities include a wonderful barbecue on the terrace. Highly recommended.

Stunning Kera Villa stole our hearts...

Review Submitted: May 12, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
How often do you arrive at a holiday destination and know almost immediately that you must return? That's what happened to us at the beautiful Kera Villa, set in a perfect garden and with stunning sea views from every window, most of them showing the wide sweep of Almerida bay.
On our return home we immediately booked two weeks next year (this year we stayed for one week in late April). At this time the wildflowers are amazing - whole fields of them - and we enjoyed visits to Chania and the nearby archeological site at Aptera. The local tavernas, overlooking the sea, are romantic and all Cretans seem to really enjoy contact with holidaymakers, and not just for our Euros. They are naturally courteous and hospitable.
Kera villa delivered everything and more that was promised on the website: it is spacious, comfortable, a real home-from-luxury-home, and immaculately maintained by an all-English staff. The owner's pre-holiday contact and information was prompt, friendly and helpful and we have already recommended the villa to family and friends.
The area is surrounded by beautiful walking country and there's lots to explore in the whole island. What's not to like?
Owner's Response: We are always delighted when somebody really enjoys staying at Kera Villa because it means that we have achieved what we set out to do. Our advert seeks to provide an honest and accurate picture of Kera Villa so that our guests will not be disappointed and genuine reviews from guests like this one confirm that is the case. In addition we are happy to provide further information or to answer queries that anyone has before they make a booking.

Fantastic experience

Lincoln Chicago
Review Submitted: September 29, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We rented the house for a week and were very pleased with the location, amenities, and everything. The large pool, with comfortable chairs, made it difficult to leave the property. Well-stocked kitchen was nice, as were laundry facilities, and the views were simply breath-taking. Beautiful flowers all over the yards, and so many nice areas that could allow for privacy. Very peaceful and quiet, except for the crickets and birds! Great memories, thanks so much.

A little bit of Paradise

Apopsi High Wycombe, Bucks. UK
Review Submitted: September 5, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
After visiting this area of Crete for twelve years we were delighted to find such a beautiful home in such a superb location. Wherever you are in Kera Villa there are magnificent views to delight you. The front of the house has stunning sea views whilst the rear looks out to the beautiful White Mountains. The property is situated at Kera which is particularly convenient to the many facilities offered in the area. As well as a beach on your doorstep, Kalives is an authentic Cretan town while Almirida offers all the facilities of a holiday resort. There are many tavernas nearby and a short drive inland finds genuine Greek cooking with amazing value for money.
However, if like us, you will find it difficult to drag yourself away from the Villa. The house has a superbly equipped kitchen and the veranda offers a splendid al fresco dining area. The pool at the Villa is large and has many little areas in which to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The property is in an extensive plot and so your privacy and solitude is guaranteed.
Pattie and Mick the owners of the property are a pleasure to deal with and the house and its grounds are very well maintained. They have a great back-up team in Crete and the house and pool is kept spotless.
Kera Villa provides a beautiful home with many more facilities than the average holiday rental. We love the place and have no hesitation in recommending the property. It is a privilege to stay there.

Outstanding Villa in Wonderful Location

Old Crock Farnborough, UK
Review Submitted: January 2, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
This is a truly wonderful villa in a quiet, unspoilt area, the pictures do not do this villa justice. It is immaculate both inside and out and includes everything and more that you could wish for.

The owners cannot do enough to help you, both before and during your stay, and have thought of everything to help you enjoy your stay.

It is an easy walk, mostly downhill, to Kalives, although uphill on the way back, but this does help you to walk off your evening meal. Almerida is a bit further but still within reasonable walking distance.

I cannot recommend this highly enough - you will not be disappointed.
Owner's Response: Reading this review on our advert was a delightful surprise for us - many thanks for taking the trouble to write it! We look forward to welcoming you back to Kera and will keep you updated on further improvements.
