This villa feels like a millonaires retreat.

A fantasticaly well equiped villa, in a equally fantastic location. The patio and decking over the harbour made the villa feel like a millonaires retreat.
Our mornings were spent dangling our toes in the water whilst trying to catch fish for dinner from the end of the pontoon, with the sun just appearing over the hill in the background, and the water as sitll as a mirror.
And our evenings were out on the patio drinking home made pina colada's with the BBQ crackelled in the background.
All in all a holiday we will never forget, and will quite possibly never be able to better.
My only regret is that we didn't have a yacht to moor on the private pontoon!

30th wedding anniversary celebration

This trip was by far one of the best times we have had in many years. The combination of the comfortable villa, the beautiful beach, the convenience of the supermarket, primetime mango season, the local foods - it was just perfect. We are seafood lovers and you cannot beat fresh grouper and red snapper directly from the ocean. The weather was hot and the sea breezes were so refreshing. We will definitely go back again - and soon. Thanks Linda for all your help in making our anniversary so special.

My family and I loved the island, we had some flight delays and mechanical trouble with one of our planes so we were delayed by about a day and a half. We were very tired and frustrated but as soon as we entered the villa that first night at about 10pm, every bit of the frustration left. It was absolutely beautiful. It was wonderful, the place was clean and comfortable. The views of the harbour and mountains were fabulous. I took almost as many pictures from out deck as I did on the whole island. I highly recommend it, The neighborhood was quite and secure. I felt as safe as if I was in my own home. Everyone was most helpful and very friendly. Don't go expecting Wal Mart or a ton of Fast Food places, they are not there. But I didn't miss them at all. The places we ate we locally owned like Dennis' the food was great and the view was spectacular. We rented a car and explored the island but we were never too far from where we started. Jolly beach is the best one for swimming and playing that we found and it was just a short walk from our villa. We spent one morning Zipping across the rain forest, I highly recommend this too, it was one of our favorites (especially my niece who is 8). Make sure to visit Devil's Bridge and Betty's Hope. The shopping experience was a good one, people asked for you to look at there things but they were not typically high pressure assults like we have encountered in some places, ie jamaica, or Mexico. The whole experience was the most relaxing and restful vacation I have ever been on, and it all started with our villa in Jolly Harbour.

I’ve probably told 25 people how nice it is, I’ve given the web site and information to 3 seriously interested parties who are looking into going there next year and hope to stay at her villa. I thought it was awesome and the perfect place to stay. I felt very safe and enjoyed every minute of my stay.

Fabulous villa in a stunning location

We stayed at the Jolly Harbour villa for a week in April and it was one of our most memorable vacations. The villas had pretty much everything you could ask for: 2.5 bathrooms, A/C, ceiling fans, cable TV, DVD player, tons of DVD's and books, a dishwasher, a BBQ grill and an amazing porch and deck.

The beach is a 3 minute walk from the villa and is fantastic. Castaways restaurant is good for a casual lunch or drink. We also enjoyed Mellini's and Java JoJo cafe. The supermarket is a 10 minute walk or a 1 minute drive and has pretty much everything you need, except good fresh vegetables. Those can be purchases at an outdoor market on Saturdays in St. John.

We went zip-lining at Antigua Rainforest Company - best experience ever! Snorkelling at Long Bay beach on the other side of the island is incredible. And of course, sunsets at Shirley Heights should not be missed! Never have we seen a more breathtaking view. A trip to English Harbour is a must, too for the gorgeous yachts and great restaurants.

We recommend that you rent a car because there is a lot to see and do in Antigua (not to mention the 365 beaches!). We rented a car from Dollar for $179/week.

On your way back, keep in mind that security procedures at V.C. Bird airport are diffrerent from those at home and take a long time. Get there at least 2.5 hours before your flight and you will thank yourself.

Linda was super helpful and responsive to all our questions before the trip and we recommend this property wholeheartedly! We cannot wait to come back!

Lovely villa in a great position

Nat2009 Hertfordshire
Review Submitted: March 31, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We have recently returned from spending 10 days at this villa. The villa itself is lovely, well looked after, and more spacious than it appears from the photos, although I guess the bathrooms are relatively small, but then there are two of them plus one toilet! One niggle though, when we first arrived, the villa had not been cleaned since the departure of the previous occupants, who had been there for two weeks. We rang the local contact immediately who was very apologetic and came over to clean the villa himself personally the next day, but it did mean that we had to change the bed sheets ourselves on the first night and dig around to find clean towels etc!

The location is great, a short walk from a stunning beach, and a slightly longer walk (10mins tops) from the shops, but this is a very pleasant walk. There's not much to do within walking distance (except the beach and beach-related stuff) but hiring a car is pretty cheap (we used Avis - 220US$/wk). If you do hire a car, you need to get a security permit from the Jolly Harbour main office - we were not aware of this and got told off by the security staff when trying to drive back into the resort.

The villa contains pretty much everything you need and the dishwasher is a real bonus. We tended not to eat out as Antigua is pretty expensive and eating on the patio at the back, looking out over the water, was a lovely experience in itself.

I really liked the fact that there were books and DVDs there, and also basic stuff like cleaning utensils/liquids and toilet roll (albeit probably left over from previous tenants). There were also various SPF creams left behind which also proved useful! It can be really tedious having to buy these basic items in.

I would recommend this property to a friend and would definitely stay there again. There were just two of us, and we were quite happy with that, however any more people than that, and I think it would get quite crowded.

Overall, very nice though.

Owner's Response: This was a late booking. I e-mailed and texted my Housekeeper, but unknown to me he did not get my messages in time. There are always lots of clean linen and towels in the wardrobes and I leave extra toilet rolls, cleaning items and mosquito creams etc. in the villa for my Guests. I apologised to Natalie and had a lovely e-mail back from her saying how much they had enjoyed themselves and would love to go back.

So close to the beach!

Been home a week now and getting used to the snow!
The villa is in an excellent location, just 2 minutes walk to the beach, which is to die for! It was very quiet and peaceful there except when 'cruise ship trippers' arrived from St Johns, thankfully only on the last 2 days of our stay.

The villa has been well looked after and Linda was so helpful both before & during our stay there.

We didn't hire a buggy, no need for one, only a 10 minute to the supermarket although you may need one if you intend to play golf. We hired a car for 2 days, well worth it, never felt unsafe at anytime during our stay.

We didn't use the marina swimming pool which again is a 10 minute walk, but it looked well kept. Manged a game of tennis (took our rackets) and the boys were going to play squash but never got around to it.

Eating out costs about the same as home, Mellini's was ok, but a bit of a hit & miss. Enjoyed a lovely meal at Sheer to celebrate our anniversary, beautiful setting, expensive but worth it! Castaways at the beach was good for a burger, their cocktails were again a bit of a hit & miss, it all depended who served you! Carib, the local beer was excellent though!

Well worth visiting!

Lovely relaxing holiday

Tourist 62 United Kingdom
Review Submitted: December 4, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We stayed at this villa with two children in October 2008. We were provided with excellent customer service, and the owner answered all my queries pre travel very promptly. The property was clean and well maintained and the housekeeper Charles was friendly and informative. There was a range of books, games and DVDS which was a nice touch and plenty of clean linen.
The beautiful beach was a few minutes walk away and the pool and tennis courts within a short walk. If you want noisy nightlife( we don't) then the location would not be for you, but for a peaceful holiday in an idyllic location this villa is excellent and I would highly recommend it.

Caribbean dream!!

Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2007
We had the most wonderful holiday here in Antigua with this fabulous villa to stay in. It is equipped to the highest standard and was serviced regularly throughout our stay by the ever efficient and smiling Charles. The location is perfect with all amenities close at hand yet in a very peaceful and safe setting.

Your idyllic powder white sand beach is two minutes away where you can sit sipping a 'Castaways' cocktail every evening and watch the sun go down.

In addition the patio decking at the rear of the villa is a fantastic bonus, a great place to sunbathe or sit in the shade just watching the world sail by.

I totally recommend this property and would love to stay there again in the near future.
