Heaven on earth!

I'm not going to make a long and drawn out description of this place because the photos should speak for themselves! This place really is idyllic if you're after a rural retreat. Eight of us went last year to celebrate a friends birthday and we couldn't have chosen a better place - we really did have a great time. A car is necessary really but there is also a local taxi driver who ferried us all back and forth to Uzes on the occasions we decided to eat out.
The owners are lovely and will go out of their way to accommodate you and make sure everything is the way you want it.

Family Bille says Thank You

burlaub Dortmund, Germany
Review Submitted: November 3, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Its already a week we are back again in Dortmund (Germany), but its not to late to say a very big thank you for our wonderful tim in Mas des Mirabelles. You have such a wonderful house. When we arrived (a family with 4 persons and two friends of us) and we saw the house, the garden, the pool, the interior and the little mazet, I whished it could be mine. Believe the fotos, believe the description, but its much better. It was an Honour for my whole family to spend our autoum holidays in such a tastful location. In some moments I imagined I would spend the summer weeks there and would slepp outdoor near the pool. Wonderful but too expensive for us. Although it was very cold but sunny this autoum in the first week (one morning 2 drees, when i startet to the baker) and very rainy in the second week, we made two barbecue evenings outdoor near the pool. I hope we vcan come back some time or other.
Best regard from Bille family

July 2009

romapaec Edinburgh, Scotland
Review Submitted: July 30, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The website and photos give an accurate impression of this charming and unique property. We were a family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and an 8 and 11 year old. The house met all our needs, especially the large, clean and well maintained pool. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area - we enjoyed canoeing, a water park, wine tasting, eating out in Uzes and visiting the Haribo factory store!
Not detracting at all from our stay, but worth noting:
Access to the mezzanine is via a ‘floating’ stone staircase and may be difficult to access for the less physically able.
As described, the setting is ‘rural’ and really requires a car. Also in keeping with the rural setting there is an abundance of local insect life which does its best to invade the house!

Owner's Response: Whilst country 'criters' are part of the French country landscape, we aim to limit them invading the house by providing insect curtains on the majority of our windows and doors. We have noticed that sometimes these are removed by clients preferring easier acess i.e.to the kitchen. However, we do recommend leaving them in place or even asking our staff to replace curtains that have been removed by previous occupants - as I fear might have been the case in this instance.
Please note that wasps -the 'bane' of most summer pools- are conspicuous by their absence around our salt water pool; They don't like the salt at all!

Our holiday retreat

Rache Heathfield, East Sussex
Review Submitted: September 7, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We have 4 small children and were after somewhere child friendly with plenty of local activities available and a treat for us. Mas des Mirabelles ticked all the boxes. The house is very original in style with extremely comfortable beds, cot and linen provided. The pool was salt water and big enough for everyone to play or do some lengths. Great under cover BBQ area. Our excursions included Pont du Gard, canoeing, donkey trekking, Haribo sweet factory, local markets and Nimes. Uzes is a great place to eat with the children with plenty of space to run around. We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Glad everyone enjoyed themselves! It was a pleasure to met you and we hope that you will all come again....Mas des Mirabelles will continue to evolve and will be even better in the years to come because of the advise and reviews we receive. Thank you and have a great and dry winter!!!

Idyllic Holiday

Jan & Andrew London
Review Submitted: June 4, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2007
We have stayed here twice as this is an ideal place to relax and get away from the fast pace of life. The Mas is spacious and very comfortable, yet at the same time retains authentic rustic charm. Highly recommended if you are looking for the perfect relaxing holiday

Owner's Response: We were delighted to welcome Jan and Andrew back to Mas des Mirabelles when they returned on their honeymoon.

May break

Ian & Nikkie Leicester
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We stayed here for a week, just two of us. Fantastic accomodation, furnishings, decor and facilities excellent. Very rustic but superbly put together, even down to the wood provided for the outside barbeque. The owners obviously have a gift for home interiors. If there was a tiny down side its the fact that the pool is underheated, so really can only use in hotter months. We have been going away for a week every year for 5 years now, always looking for a place that is quiet, remote, not overlooked. This place is the best place yet. Thank you Craig and Julie

Owner's Response: As the whole town of Uzès is an historic classed site, gaining planning permission to install a solar panelled heating system for the pool has proved very difficult. We were also not too convinced a heating system was indeed necessary as the pool can get up to 30°c during the summer. However, Ian and Nikkie's useful comments show that the need for pool heating does exist outside the hot summer months. We are confident that from next year we'll have a heating system sorted and out-of-season clients will be welcome to come feel the difference!

Easter and summer 2007

Review Submitted: May 19, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2007
We came to stay at Les Mirelles twice last year. Spring sunshine and cool eveinings made swimming in the pool and wood fires in the evening a delightful possibilty. The owners will stop at nothing to make your visit a special one. When we arrived with three tired children we found jugs of lavender on the kitchen table, the fridge full of wine, honey, cheeses and even a home made stew.

The house is utterly charming and feels like a home, rather than a rental. It is ideally situated between Uzes and St Quentin and we can't wait to go back.

Owner's Response: Mas des Mirabelles has a very special place in our hearts and we feel every visitor is more a house guest than a 'client' . We always organise a welcome hamper and a bottle of our favourite local wine. As we knew this guest was arriving alone with her 3 young children, as parents of 3 ourselves, we knew that a ready made supper would be a welcome surprise. Time restraints, and our other comitmments (namely 3 children) means we can't offer this service as standard. However, there's a large variety of shops, grocery stores, restaurants and cafés all in the near vacinity. Unusually for France, our nearby supermarkets open Sunday mornings and lunchtimes.
