Beautiful & Comfortable

Review Submitted: October 11, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
An incredibly comfortable cottage, and a delight to return to after a day wandering round chateaux!

The living room are is a nice place to sit and relax, and it's great that there's room for a good table to sit at to eat. The kitchen has most things you could need (the only thing I'd say is missing are a couple of BIG pans for cooking in).

The beds are a decent size, and good if you like extremely soft mattresses.

The location is great for visiting a lot of the Loire Valley, and yet feels nicely detached in the evenings. It's a quiet corner for the evenings as well.

Perfect!

Delightful Cottage

This is a lovely cottage in a quiet location for a relaxing holiday and well positioned for exploring the surrounding region - Chinon, Saumur, Richlieu, Tours, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Loche etc etc.
Booking was easy and responses were prompt. Directions to find the place were spot on. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and well equipped - no complaints! We benefited from perfect weather, got to use the charcoal bbq twice and ate every day on the outside patio.
Big supermarket - Intermarche - at Pouzay (12 mins drive) -great wine selection -cheapest petrol too! Recommend the Gardon Frit for seafood dinner. Cafe de la Place in Saumur good for lunch but recommend book in advance or get there by 12.00. Chenonceaux really worth a visit. Lots of brochures in the cottage to help you plan your day trips.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We recently had the pleasure of spending a week at this amazing property - it was perfect!
We spent a week in the house end August 2009 and had the most peaceful, relaxing time.
We loved the garden and every inch of the fabulous house. The kitchen and dining place is well equipped and perfect for entertaining.
The owners were very friendly and easy to deal with, also there is a local contact if you got problems.

Relaxing in July

Es and DK Biggleswade, Beds
Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We arrived at the cottage after a slight hiccup with the navigation (we were looking on the wrong side of the road). The cottage was just as described though slightly further away from the River than we had thought (at least a 15 second walk). The cottage was spotless and with clean linen and towels provided, beds already made and all we had to do was settle down with a glass of wine.
Would recommend this cottage to a friend, but if you are considering fishing, check out what is needed first. We never quiet resolved whether you could fish anywhere (English advice) needed a permit (local farmers advice) or a bottle of scotch granted you fishing rights (neighbours of the cottage advice). A car is essential as you are miles away from towns of any size but for us, that was perfect.
All in all....... a fantastic place to relax, chill and unwind.

What a nice, tranquil place

The house was everything that it promised to be from the website photographs, if not better. The owners provide a clean, well maintained and tastefully furnished properties. It possesses an old world charm with its woodwork and stonework, but everything modern is of a good quality. We particularly liked to sit out on the terrace after dinner with a glass of wine and watch the River Vienne flow by. The road through the village must be one of the least frequented in the region, providing peace and quiet. The car parking is good and there is a well placed mirror allow safe access onto it.
The owners are easy to deal with and reply promptly to all queries etc. They have a local contact who is, apparently (from the comments in the visitors' book) most helpful. Fortunately we had no need of her services.
I would certainly recommend the property.
I should particularly like to recommend the Logis Hotel St. Romain in Dange St.Romain (and if you can prise the recipe for his starter of creme brulee with foie gras out of him please let me have a copy).
Chinon is quite close and one of our favourite places - Fontevraud L'Abbe.

Away from it all

Lazyman North of England
Review Submitted: June 14, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
First week of June 2009. Blessed with hot weather and a quiet cottage in which to relax.

The cottage is very comfortable and patio area attracts the sun for most of the day. For the serious cook the only gripe could be the lack of the odd, but useful, utensil.
No garlic press !!

Was that content that excursions and the need to get out and about wasn't a priority. The little general store next to the bar in the village proved useful.

If you do go to the Chateau at Chenonceaux try the Orangerie Restaurant for afternoon tea. The Strawberry Soup was a highlight.

A Perfect Place To Stay

Lansdown Northampton England
Review Submitted: June 8, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
A beautiful property in a very beautiful part of France, the
cottage was cosy and designed to a very high standard with your every need thought of. We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed many lovely walks, my daughter
loved the Kayaking on the river and the bike rides. Chinon
is a lovely town to visit with it's narrow cobbled streets full
of restaurants and shops, we can't wait to visit again and
would recommend to all our friends and family.
