Great Property & Location

Avman Bedford
Review Submitted: July 7, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This is really well equipped for a rental property and it is in an excellent location with wonderful views from a very comfortable veranda that are far better than 99% of any of the other properties in Ferragudo.
It really is just a short walk to a nice beach (with 3 good beach bars), or a small supermarket and numerous bars and restaurants ranging from cheap to expensive, just take your pick.
There is also a very large supermarket about a 5 minute drive away.
If you are looking for a holiday in Portugal that is not all about late night discos but where you can still enjoy a drink and a good meal without driving then this is the place.
The next time I return to The Algarve I will definitely try for this place again.

Owner's Response: The location of the house is nice and quiet, even in August, but being in a traditional fishing village and only a short drive away (or by water taxi in the summer) from bustling night life of Priar de Rocha means you have access to the best of both worlds!!! Some guests have been returning on a regular basis for a number of years as this little haven is so easy to enjoy, not matter how often you have been before.

Lovely property in a good location. Clean and well maintained.

Plentiful food shopping available- best shopping for fish was from the fish market on the harbour front (open in the mornings).

Enjoyed by 2 teenagers...so must be good!

Very good contact and information from the owners, with rapid return of security deposit.

Holiday June 2009

We enjoyed our trip to Ferragudo and to this apartment enormously. I found the owner a pleasure to deal with from the start.
The description of the apartment was completely accurate and the apartment itself was very comfortably furnished. It was spotless and clearly well maintained. We particularly appreciated the kindness of the owners in providing some food and milk for when we arrived on a Sunday when no shops are open.
The owners have obviously carefully thought about what guests want from an apartment and what are all too often missing so we were very pleased to find plenty of wardrobes, hangers, sockets and mirrors. The air con is efficient.
We liked having a choice of balcony so we would have breakfast on 1 balcony and then in the afternoon, sit on the gorgeous and extremely comfortable garden furniture on the other balcony.
The complex itself is also of a high standard. The spotless pool is only 1 minute walk from the apartment and it is nice to have a reception should you have any questions while you are there.
We ate well in the restaurants in the resort. Eating out is not expensive. I would however say that the routes to the centre, if you are walking, seem to involve a large number of steps and should be taken into consideration if old or disabled.
I would definitely return to this apartment in the future.

Owner's Response: We are glad that guests enjoy our home as much as we do and we like to add new things on a regular basis for everyone (including us) to enjoy. It is quite hilly around the resort but this does not seem to detracted guests from enjoying the this super location in this pretty little haven of the Algarve!!

Wonderful Holiday Home

This is our 3rd visit to this lovely home in the Sun. We have been regular visitors to the Algarve for many years and this house and location is the best we have experienced with all of its extra comforts and super location.

The view and balcony are quite special and provide the perfect place to relax in comfort and watch the world go by across the water and lovely sunsets.

The owners are a delight to deal with and very helpful in making every visit a little bit special. The staff on site are very pleasant and able to provide assistance with anything that you may wish to do in the local area.....and there is lots to do if you want to!!

We would recommend this Holiday home to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a traditional fishing village with easy access to beaches and many superb restaurants.

Owner's Response: Guests that return on a regular basis still continue to enjoy our home, little additions each year and continue find plenty to do in the local area. The sun just keeps shining, even in February!!

Description on holiday rentals website:

House - 100% accurate, wonderful townhouse, good location in complex. Very very well equiped especially the kitchen (great to have lots of plates and cutlery so that the dishwasher could be stacked and only run once a day.)

Balcony superd and spacious - easily sat 4 of us and table, the view was wonderful and very relaxing.

Courtyard area, wasn't sure what to expect from the writeup but an excellant area for our two KS2 children to play, totally safe and shaded especailly with the bat and ball games provided.

Very impressed with the extra touches the owners have done to name but a few cd players, hairdryers in both rooms, bats and ball as well as boogie boards, lots of cusions etc, games cuboard, books and if really required freeview.

Plenty of sitting area, sofas comfortable, good size dining table easily sits 6-8.

Bedrooms - spacious and well furnished, good having two bathrooms with children.

Supermarkets - would recommend the Intermarche rather than the Le Clerc

Restaurants - Lots of choice with a good range of prices, recommend the Farragood

Beaches - excellant, two beaches within 5 minutes walk, good facilites including the Aqua land floating in the sea! If you perfer a quiter spot lots of coves only a short drive away.

The only slightly negative thing I will say is that Ferragudo was a little bigger than I imagined and Portimao is certainly growing!

We did the dolphin boat and were lucky enough to see lots!

I have already recommended the property to lots of family and friends. The townhouse is excellant, and the location suberb.
Thank you Tx

Owner's Response: We do like to keep the house regularly updated and fresh, so it is nice for both our own use and that of our guests.

It's very nice that many guests love the house and village as much as we do......... we, and some our friends, have been going for serveral years now, and we just seem to enjoy it a more each time we go!!

Superb house, beautifully kept, lovely views

Review Submitted: June 17, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My husband, his elderely father and myself spent a lovely ten days here. We found the house to be very well equipped and to be in a lovely position with views from the balcony of the castle of Sao Jao, the sea, and Portimao across the estuary. The surrounding area was quiet and the village of Ferragudo not yet overdeveloped and spoilt, with a some pleasant local restaurants and 2 supermarkets within a few minutes drive. It was lovely to sit on the balcony for breakfast and in the evenings, enjoying the sunshine and the views.

There are lots of lovely beaches in the area to explore by car and Praia Grande is only a few hundred yards walk away. It was a great base from which to visit the beautiful coast around the Algarve, and we enjoyed seeing the sand sculptures at Pera and Cape Saint Vincent.

We would thoroughly recommend the property and the excellent communication from the owners. We'd certainly like to come back again.

Owner's Response: Guests always seem to enjoy our home and it's super location. Quiet beaches and great restaurants with in a few minutes walk!! But you can always get to Praia Da Rocha in 10 minutes by taxi or car if you fancy a bit of night life!!
