French Villa

Dianejoe Washington U.S.A
Review Submitted: October 31, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Four of us spent two wonderful weeks at this lovely villa and enjoyed every minute of it. Almost everyday we ventured out to explore a different ancient, picturesque village - all within an easy, short drive of the villa. Shopping was exceptional especially in the seaside cities nearby.

As four senior citizens we found relaxing at the villa very comfortable with seating outside in several different areas that provided us with alone time while others were nearby. To dive into a pool overlooking the Mediterrean is an experience that we won't soon forget.

The villa is exceptionally comfortable and exceptionally well equipped, particularly the kitchen with its many amenities. There were excellent restaurants nearby, but with the villa's outside eating areas, as well as the terrific BBQ and the lovely setting, it was actually fun to cook and we ate "at home" more than we thought we would. What a treat it was to have an ice maker in France!

The charetakers were gracious and helpful.

Would we go again? Would we recommend this place? You bet we would. It is even better than the photos on the website.

Fantastic time in Agay

Review Submitted: October 25, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We just returned from a wonderful stay at Le Bonne Etoile. We could not have asked for anything more from our first visit to the French Rivera.

Many rental descriptions are merely hyperbole but the Le Bonne Etoile villa is as advertised - beautiful with gorgeous views, it is well-stocked/furnished, well-maintained, and well-situated close to all the places we wanted to visit (Nice, Cannes, and Monaco). The weather cooperated - we were able to enjoy the pool and we had the best time.

The caretakers, the Coureaus, were very hospitable and very helpful when we needed them (not often). We felt very at home while on vacation.

We loved that we had the freedom of using our time in the manner in which we wanted - go to Monaco one day, walk down to the beach the next, go to the nearby boulangerie (bakery) for fresh croissants in the morning, etc. If you ever want to visit the French Riviera without the canned feel of a tour or hotel, stay at Le Bonne Etoile and explore the area on your own. It will be worth your time (and money).

When we return to southern France, we'll be returning to Le Bonne Etoile. We have already told our friends of our fantastic vacation.

Great French Riviera Villa

DMNT1122 Italy
Review Submitted: July 2, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We just returned from our stay at Shirley's Villa and we absolutely loved it! Not only was Shirley accommodating, the villa was MORE than we expected. The entire duration of our stay, we never once needed something that wasn't already provided for in the villa.

The view is most excellent and the small. stone beach across the street provided for excellent diving from the 20 ft rock. Just down the way, about 7-8 minutes walk, there is an excellent white sandy beach, as well as a small market and bakery to get some essentials.

Further down the way, about 15 minutes walk there is a Supermarche' (supermarket) and another sandy beach. Also, we went to the local farmer's market on Tuesday and found some great local fruits/vegetables and cuisine.

As Americans living in Europe we have had the opportunity to stay at many European rentals and this one is by far the best we have encountered so far.

OVERALL A+++++

just arrived back after a fabulous week at the villa.
Dealing with the owner and caretakers was a joy, and I have no hesitation in recommending. The property is fabulous and we enjoyed many an evening sitting outside watching the boats sailing by. The pool was fantastic, clean and warm and we used it all day long. The rest of the villa was very well equipped, the air conditioning was useful on hot nights. The villa was furnished to high standard. We enjoying a holiday with no car. We used public transport only. The buses were limited at the villa but there was a more regular service from the commercial centre ( 10 minutes walk away). There were a selection of great beaches just a short walk away as well as shops withinh easy walking distance. I would definatley consider returning.

Beautiful Villa with a really great view

comfortseeker Frankfurt, Germany
Review Submitted: October 18, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Beautiful Villa with a really great view on the ocean and the coast, and it’s more than completely equipped. The owner themselves live there during the winter, and so it’s really gemuetlich and everything is there.

Fanyastic holiday

Natali Russia, Moscow
Review Submitted: September 28, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Hello there!
It was an unforgettable week our family of four spent in "La Bonne Etoile". This villa has so much to offer: swimming pool, beautiful garden, TV, new furniture, the kitchen has everything for cooking. It is spacious, clean and well maintained. The owner of the villa was not present but we all felt very welcome. The interior of inside the house is so tastefully designed. Everything in the house – statues, books, vases and even a piano – made us feel pretty much as at home rather than in a hotel.
The villa is situated in a very comfortable location – two minutes walk to the bus station, only a walk distance to the beach, local store, cafes.
And a breathtaking view around…! Our breakfasts on the terrace with a view towards the sea – this will remain in our memories for ever!
Dear Shirley, thank you very much again for your efforts to make our holiday so fantastic!

Villa La Bonne Etoile

Bernard and Fiona Cheshire, England
Review Submitted: August 27, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Villa La Bonne Etoile has been a wonderful place to stay for our two week holiday in the South of France.

It is a real home from home, tastefully and comfortably furnished, clean and with every modern convenience. I have stayed in many villas around the world and have never seen one with a kitchen so well equiped.

And, it was great to be able to sit overlooking the sea while having a meal. You can spend hours watching the fabulous yachts go by and see people diving into the sea from the rocks by the pebble beach which was only just across the road. The beach is small but we used it regularly as it was so convenient and much quieter than the big beaches round the corner.

Also the whole family enjoyed the pool and south facing sun terrrace daily.

Tom and Carole took good care of the garden and pool, and were very helpful with guidance regarding local resturaunts, supermarkets etc which were excellent.

Overall, myself, my wife and three children were very happy at this villa. We would recommend it and we would return here.

Bernard and Fiona, Cheshire, England.

The heaven on earth

Review Submitted: July 22, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We spent one week in this beautiful place and we really cannot think of any improvements that could be done there. Everything, in real, looks even better than on the photographs. You have a great range of services including distinguishable outside BBQ, complimentary WiFi service and both the owners and managers of the villa "La Bonne Etoile" are extremely helpful people.

Location of the villa is something really extraordinaire. You do not need to use a car to get to the beach, because there is one just ten meters away from the villa! If you want to do some sighting, "La Bonne Etoile" is a lovely place to start from. Antibes, Saint-Raphael, Frejus, Cannes, Juan-les-Pins - all of these beautiful cities are just in your reach.

We are really proud about choosing villa "La Bonne Etoile" for our vacation. It is a great place.

Thank you!

Wonderful Say in your Chateau in Agay

TRoy Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, USA
Review Submitted: July 7, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Aloha Shirley,
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your wonderful and charming chateau in Agay. It worked out just perfect for us because we were able to take the local train or bus for day trips to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Biot, St. Raphael, and St. Tropez. The best part was being able to return to your secluded and quiet chateau in Agay after a busy day site seeing and refresh ourselves for the next day. We look forward to returning to your place in Agay again and again. Mahalo for providing us with such an enjoyable vacation. Roy

Magnificent Stay

Darylg Los Angeles, California, USA
Review Submitted: July 7, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
The Bonne Etoille - C’est Manifique! This beautiful home over-looking the Mediterranean Sea has every amenity one could wish for. The kitchen has top-of-the line appliances. There is a large master bedroom and bath. The bath has a tub as well as a state-of-the-art shower which will spray you from all directions. The home is beautifully furnished and decorated.
The chateau is situated midway up a small hill in a the midst of a tiered garden with trees, flowers and plants everywhere. There is a gourmet barbeque with a full outdoor kitchen and covered dining area. There is a second outside dining area right outside the kitchen door that overlooks the pool and Mediterranean Sea.
The most spectacular aspect of th Bonne Etoille are the incredible panoramic views of the of the Mediterranean. There are huge picture sliding glass doors from the master bedroom, dining room living room and kitchen that all providing this view.
The first thing you see in the morning as you open your eyes is the Sea. Then you go into the kitchen, open the glass door and step outside to the garden table. There is no better way to begin one’s day in Agay than to sip coffee while savoring a croissant in the garden overlooking the pool and Mediterranean Sea.
From the Bonne Etoille, it is a 15 minute walk down the hill to the bakery and another 15 minutes walk into the main part of town. From Agay it is easy to hop onto the train and take day trips to the various cities along the South of France. If you like to walk or bike ride, the countryside is breathtaking.
The Bonne Etoille is truly a piece of Heaven on earth.
