All over fun!

Review Submitted: January 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
My family and I had a fabulous time at this villa and we'd recommend it to anyone if we didn't want to keep it to ourselves. :)

In all seriousness however, there were very few cons to this property, it was really well stocked in the kitchen and the staff was courteous...we had everything we could ask for, including our privacy.

The four en suite bathrooms really helped everyone in keeping their personal space so we never felt like we were crowding each other. And the pool was great, it wasn't too deep so everyone felt safe swimming there but it was big enough so that we were all comfortable.

I'd recommend a car as Tobago can be a bit of a hassle to get around without one but that's it. Can't wait to go back!!!

EXCELLENT FOR VALVUE AND SCENERY

I stayed at Villa Sans-Souci in Oct 08 and enjoyed my stay. The Villa is spacious and well situated with its pool and jacuzzi overlooking the 12th Fairway of Tobago Plantations Golf Beach & SPA Resort. The sunsets are magnificent and the island is green and lush.

The villa is well maintained. The hotel is closed for renovations but that is understandable as it is on the sea coast. However to be at Villa Sans-Souci it is recommended to rent a car and there are several restaurants to enjoy. Villa Sans-Souci is situated in the only gated resort on the island. You feel safe.

The golf club, its restaurants and bars are open and functioning as normal. One can walk the fairways and enjoy the fauna, flora and wildlife of the resort.

I would recommend Villa Sans-Souci and the island of Tobago. For a Caribbean Villa Holiday it is honest in its pricing for the quality offered.

We had a wonderful vaccation at the Villa and on Tobago overall. The only thing was that Hilton Resort was closed for renewal. This made the place rather deserted with no possibillitys to have a near place to eat and drink in the evnigs.

Sans-Souci December 08

Review Submitted: December 13, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
We have just had a pleasant stay at the villa. It is very spacious, garden/pool areas are lovely and has a great view over the 12th hole. Close to shops, the gorgeous Pigeon Point, lots of eating places, but a car is essential.
In most instances the description provided is correct, although the hotel is not the Hilton now and it is closed for a lengthy refurbishment, so don't go there expecting to use the hotel's facilities as we were. The BBQ was broken by previous occupants and had not been replaced and 2 of the air-con units were not working. Although the maid comes in to clean (not daily) kitchen/bathrooms and change beds, I felt that the villa needed a team of cleaners to bring it up to the cleanliness standards | would expect. It was really very grubby in places and was never dusted or polished during our stay. I also think it is need of a paint job inside and bathroom/kitchen refurbishment. We found the lounge furniture very uncomfortable and the beds are rock-hard.
Building work being done next door.
I would disagree that it is suitable for the infirm. Yes, it's all on one floor, but the bathrooms would be completely unsuitable for those with mobility problems.
A welcome pack should be provided. I don't think you should be expected to do basic shopping after a long haul flight when you arrive at night in an unfamiliar place.
My husband is a golfer. In his opinion the condition of the course has gone downhill over the last six years, but still provides millionaire's golf which he considered good value for money at £35 per round including a cart. This cost is cheaper than in 2002. In my opinion and experience this is not a 'luxury' villa, but would not take much to make it so.

Ideal Vacation Home - Excellent!

Review Submitted: December 11, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
This villa was above all my expectations. It completely catered for my entire family and is designed in an extremely child-friendly way. I did not have to worry about my kids as it was easy to monitor them from almost every room in the house, and they loved the place. My Husband and I truly loved Sans Souci. We were able to genuinely relax and lay back.

The location is ideal as you can access the most popular destinations easily, and the villa is very secure. Hourly patrols were noticed every night and we were there for eleven nights. The pool is very well maintained and the lawns also.

It is truly a home away from home as you are provided with almost all the amenities your home would have.

If you are looking for the perfect vacation spot for your family, this is the place for you. It's serene enough to just relax with your loved ones and enjoy yourselves, there is no hustle and bustle like the Store Bay area accommodations but close enough to Crown Point and Scarborough so that you can access everything you need.

We definitely plan to visit Sans Souci again.

house is comfortable with everything you could need (full kitchen and bathrooms) to enjoy your stay. it can sleep up to 8, each room with its own bathroom or ensuite. There is a huge dining / living area with tv. this leads out onto the patio which again is fully furnished with table, chairs and sun loungers. And the pool and jacuzzi make this house complete. Great view of the golf course behind. Plenty of parking. House is alarmed for your safety, on a private plantations site with security desk.Housekeeper available (we only saw her once during our stay but that was fine with us) although the cleanliness wasnt as we'd hoped. Under the beds and skirting boards hadnt seen a broom or cloth for a long time! But it didnt detract from our stay. However we learnt not to leave the outside doors open as the birds will readily come in to scavage food and your left with alot of mess to clear up! Check out the Cayman in the lakes on the site too. They make a terrific clicking noise at night. You can also use the facilities at the nearby Hilton Tobago hotel. Great stay for all , disabled included as its all on one level - but especially families. You can put the little ones to bed then have a dip in the pool or read on the patio enjoying the warm nighhts with a drink!

Tobago holiday, July 2008

I visited Villa Sans Souci in July with my family (wife, son 15 yrs, son 11 yrs, daughter 3 yrs and son 18 months) and a nanny. This was our first time to Tobago and we hired a car, also through Paul.
The villa is extremely pleasant, spacious and comfortable. The facilities are very good, the villa is clean and a maid attends regulalry. Although a reasonably large family we had plenty of room and were not squashed at all.
The pool/jacuzzi is excellent and we spent time in there every day.
Shops are a 10 minute drive away (you'll need a car), although the hotel is very close by and you can use their facilities.
Watch out for mosquitoes - well, take lots of repellant, and ideally pick up some groceries on the drive through from the airport.
We felt that the rate paid was extremely competitive and represented excellent value for money.
All in all, highly recommended - no complaints!

Beautiful villa

Review Submitted: December 4, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
No longer considered on Hilton property- hotel grounds were bought by VHL.. (check out trip advisor.com). We went April 2008. Villa is as pictured - very clean - only real complaint are the beds - very, very uncomfortable - like lying on stone. Great kitchen, nice sitting area, rooms very clean, outdoor dining area is well lit. Bit of a walk to beach. Definitely would rent a car otherwise you're relegated to staying on the property grounds at night. The bar and restaurant at the Hotel were mediocre and pricey. We bought our own groceries down the road b/c we had a car. There are no stores or towns w/in walking distance. The hotel area (i.e. pools, laying out areas, beach) is accessible to you as a guest of the Villa - is quite a walk away. Hotel grounds have beautiful layout but its facilites are run down and rusted but I believe renovations - given the new owners are underway. Villa itself is in tip-top shape. Would recommend for those seeking quiet, romance - not for partiers. We had a wonderful stay.
