My husband and I stayed here with our daugter, partner and grandson in September this year. I have stayed in lots of villa's over the years and this is the nicest one yet. Fantastic location, excellent views and very well equipped. A nice large swimming pool enjoyed by all especially my grandson. Davinia was very helpful and it was nice to have someone on hand if we needed anything.

Overall a very enjoyable holiday.

I don't really want to write this review because more people will want to holiday at this villa.... BUT I feel I must tell you we had a lovely relaxing holiday.
The villa was spacious and well maintained. The garden was beautiful with lots of trees, shrubs and flowers. It was lovely opening the shutters in the morning to a stunning view. The area is very peaceful.
The Villa is within easy distance of Girona airport. The beaches are a short distance away on good roads. The local supermarkets are well stocked.
The villa is spread out over several levels so a quiet place can always be found but the BBQ area and pool levels are great for gathering together.

If you want top class accommadation with a view to die for, than look no further this is the villa for you!
We spent two fantastic weeks here in August, yes it was very hot but we had a fantastic pool to cool down in which the girls did'nt want to come away from. There are steps down to the pool and around the villa but they did not cause any concern. The villa is well equipped for all your needs it's home from home.

The Village of Cologne has all the neccessary facilities required with two fairly large Supermarkets a small town centre with a great bar which serves great coffee, a good bakers and butchers and a small market every Thursday. And if you like visiting local markets there are a few to choose from which we did and in our opinion nearby Palamos by far the biggest.

If you have kids a trip to the waterpark at nearby Playa d'Aro is a must visit, a good day had by all.

Sean and Davina who look after the villa were great for local knowledge and recommended good local restaurants and were always on hand if we needed advice, Thank you for helping our holiday be one we shall always remember.

Fantastic Villa and Holiday

Review Submitted: November 14, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We had a fantastic weeks holiday staying at this Villa, I can only apologise for not writing a review earlier.

The villa was outstanding and even better than we anticipated, it has been decorated and maintained to an extremely high standard with everything you could possibly need for a holiday, the garden was fantastic, the children were kept well entertained geckho hunting, the BBQ was well used with wonderful views to sit and enjoy. The pool was fantastic a great size and we seemed to spend most of the holiday in it, again the children loved it, even preferred it to the beach.

The location was perfect just a short drive and you were in the village with shops, market and supermarkets and on the beach. The beaches were wonderfully clean and lovely for the children to play in. We also had a lovely couple of days and a night in Barcelona which is just a short journey away and well worth the visit.

The owner was very helpful with any queries we had prior to the holiday and there is plenty of guest information in the villa. Sean and Davina also looked after us extremely well throughout our stay.

It was an extremely relaxing holiday with lots to do and see and of course a fantastic Villa to come back to on an evening. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a Villa and if going to Spain again would most certainly look to staying at this Villa again.

The villa exceeded our expectations in every way - the villa was extremely beautiful with views that were breathtaking, magnificent garden and a wonderful pool that seemed to keep the whole family occupied for hours on end. The location was perfect with an easy stroll down to the village and shops, many restaurants and the castle which the children loved!!

The property was wonderfully clean, beautifully and comfortably decorated and well equipped with everything that we needed, especially the kitchen, barbeque and the sunny side patio. The owner was very helpful and prompt with providing us with extra information (we were interested in day trips and the location of restaurants) although when we arrived, we found everything we needed in the villa in the guest information book. Whilst we were on holiday, we decided to meet friends in Barcelona and this was very quickly arranged for us by Sean and Davina.

We found the whole stay extremely relaxing but with lots to do and see, the waterpark at Playa D'Aro and the boat hire at St. Antoni were great for the kids (and adults!) and we were spoilt for choice with restaurants but the one at Romanya was something very special.

We have already contacted the owner to book for next year and I'm looking to take my parents so that we can share the experience with them.

Beautiful, Inspiring, Relaxing Stay

Review Submitted: July 15, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My husband, young son (3yrs), my in-laws, and I had a wonderful time staying at Villa Las Mimosas. The pictures were quite accurate (actually the place is nicer than the pictures) as well as the description. The pool and surrounding sea and mountain views were phenomenal. The property managers, Davina and Sean, were so helpful and responsive. The house is in a quiet, somewhat remote "suburb", but is very close to all the attractions of Costa Brava, as well as convenient bus service to Barcelona. This was a wonderful place for our very relaxing 2 week vacation. Thank you !

Stunning villa, fully matched description.Excellent pool,no cushions on any sunbeds/chairs.!!Small detail but plastic is HARD.There are a lot of steps (10 to the front door,20 to the kitchen,15 to the pool,10 to the boule area) as the property is on several levels.Although this was mentioned is did get a bit wearing .
Helpful information about the local area was sparse,or at least far less than we are used too.Several excellent local restaurants were not mentioned at all,no list of local shops, supermarkets, bakers etc.Local agents were not easy to contact .Promised to call in on our first full day and did not.We always like to clean regularly the properties that we visit but had to ask for access to a hoover and there was no mop/bucket (difficult to clean up spills without them or keep dust down on tiled floors) However, none of the above spoilt a wonderful holiday. But small details can take the edge off the lasting impression.

Owner's Response: Really pleased that you had a wonderful holiday and that you found the villa 'stunning', the pool 'excellent' and have given us a 5/5 rating.

The pointers you raise were very helpful and we have promptly acted on each one in turn ............

* whilst most guests find the towels that we provide for use by the pool more than adequate we now provide cushions for the pool furniture

* our managers provide for all guests a full welcome service (meet and greet) wherein if needed we can provide additional services such as a food hamper, access to trips etc as well as any other equipment that might be needed by our guests to make their stay as comfortable as possible. (in one case a 'honeymoon package' and a moonlit boat trip around the Bay of Palamos!!). Arrangements to welcome 'late arrival' guests who are delayed in their journey are common place

* information on local amenities, restaurants and facilities have been updated within the last few days

* our local agents are on call 24/7 and they have re-iterated that no problem is too big or too small for them to provide support and / or face to face help

* a hoover is always available if needed and mop / bucket are located in the kitchen

many thanks in helping us make our Villa an even better place to stay

yours

mark
