Hard to tear yourself away from!

Everything about this villa is pleasant, good quality, well looked-after, and uplifting. Outside Kas, on the end of a flower-filled peninsula, it looks out over a beautiful view of the sea, enhanced by its own infinity swimming pool.
The few surrounding hotels are quiet and friendly; there's easy access to the sea/swimming at the bottom of the path; and the area is peaceful. It's best to have a car, as it's not easily walkable to Kas - although there are taxis too.
The villa itself is surrounded by jasmine and tropical flowers. The rooms are spacious, with big windows & views, nice furnishings and impressive bathrooms. (The downstairs room, though, has its own separate entrance by the pool and is less connected to the main house - not suitable for children). There are airy balconies and all the mod cons you could need. I'd better mention that the villa is in a line of three - and feels very private - but you may see the people next door on their balcony.
The pool is lovely and comes with sun loungers, dining table outside and a barbecue. It is all lit-up at night and very elegant. If you need anything else, the caretaker is 5 minutes away and always willingly on hand if you call him. The villa is well cared-for and very clean.
We didn't eat in restaurants because the house was so nice, but there are plenty of enticing places in Kas. There's lots of atmosphere and lovely little shops - including some irresistible carpet ones. (Prices not too expensive).
We loved Kaputas beach, near Kalkan, and the latter is good for more shops, some nightlife and nice restaurants by the marina. If you like history, you can go to Demre (tombs), Xanthos (big capital of Lycian civilization), or the sweet little village of Ucagiz. Here you must take a quick boat tour to see the sunken ruins - and the quaint fishing village (Simena) that can't be reached by land. Incidentally, Pamukkale would be a much longer trip (there are tours from Kas involving staying the night) but this white, surreal landscape of calcium pools on a cliff - topped by the ancient city of Hieropolis on the summit - is the sight of a lifetime.
All in all, I'd recommend Villa Mimosa wholeheartedly. My husband won't go anywhere twice - as he likes novelty - but we've been there two years running!
