Review Submitted: October 3, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We stayed 2weeks in Villa Hibiscus.
The domain was fantastic, with a very big garden, nice swimming pool and a fantastic view on the river Vézère.
The children liked this very much.
Brenda and David gave us some great ideas to visit.

Just like the Terminator...We'll be back!!!

Kids, caves and castles

Review Submitted: September 14, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a mostly sunny stay for a week in August in the Mimosa gite, a 2 bedroom renovated farm building, with our 3 children aged 3, 5, 7. The gite is well stocked and a welcome pack is supplied on arrival, including wine and milk in case you haven't manged to collect them on the way. The setting beside a river and fields is very pretty and allows you to really feel that you're getting away from it all. The large fenced area around the gites, pool and garden is unobstrusive but means you can relax knowing the kids are safe. The swimming pool, garden and childrens play area were perfect for finishing the day or just loafing about. Brenda and David are friendly hosts and able to provide plenty of information about whats around if you need it, their tips were helpful to us in planning our week. Montignac was an easy cycle for us with the children, who also enjoyed riding around the property. It was an excellant base for exploring the local region and there was plenty to do in the local area and traveling a little further afield. Our 2 highlights, amongst many, were CastleNaud and a vibrant night market in St Amand-de-Coly. We really hit the jackpot here and wish that we could've stayed for longer, both the gite and region are definately worth a visit. Thanks guys for a great stay.

Villa Mimosa 2009

A Dutch family De Bilt,The Netherlands
Review Submitted: September 12, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This summer we stayed in Villa Mimosa. An old charming french house. The photo's on the site were enough to see the house was situated on a quiet former farm . The house is one of a few, with at the front the orchard where we spent very nice afternoons, The children (15,13,12) loved the pool. Villa Mimosa is a house with all te facilities necessary. The owners were very friendly and helpfull.
The Dordogne highlights are nearby, while this place is peaceful.
We recommend Le Four a Sel !
A Dutch family.

Holidays at Le Four à Sel

gemola3 Meckenheim, in the vicinity of Bonn, Germany
Review Submitted: August 23, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This was our first holiday trip to Perigord. We and our thirteen-year-old boy enjoyed the hamlet of Le Four à Sel very much. Our house "Villa Mimosa" was very comfortable for us. The location with the river Vezère (we really saw a kingfisher in action), the swimming-pool, the saeting areas, the play-ground and the large lawn with the shady trees is best suitabled for families with children. Le Four à Sel is an ideal starting point to go sightseeing to the world-famous caves and castles. Monitgnac, the next little city, wich is very nice and picturesque, is about 3 km apart. We found there well sorted supermarket and boulangeries, a lot of low-priced and good restaurants and a nice tourist market. A canoeing tour on the Vezère river is a must. Brenda and David deserved well of hospitality, good advices and kindness. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Four à Sel to our friends. We will come back!!!
Germantranslation / Deutsche Übersetztung:
Es waren unsere ersten Ferien im Perigord. Uns gefiel unser Aufenthalt in Le Four à Sel sehr gut.

Holiday at Villa Mimosa

Review Submitted: June 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Me and my husband spent 6 nights at the Villa Mimosa. It was a spacious house with a large bathroom and kitchen. We very much enjoyed the large outside space which included a river, rolling corn fields, 2 well situated outside seating areas and a swiming pool. The owners of the farmhouses lived on site and were increadibly welcoming and helpful. They had the perfect mix of hospitality but were not intrusive. Their kindness and local suggestions made the holiday. The local area has a huge amount to see from the prehistoric caves to amazing churches. There are plenty of restaurants within the local area which offers lots of duck and frois gras. We would recommend this to our friends but especilly family groups because the farmhouse is ideal for children. Thank you for a great stay.

Review of Villa Hibiscus at Le Four a Sel

Boozy Ferndown Dorset
Review Submitted: June 12, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The whole experience substantially exceeded our expectations and the owners were always on hand to help and advise. I can see why the owners wanted the properties as they are in a wonderful location, quiet but well positioned for all the local attractions. The Villa was large and very comfortable with everything one needed to make for a great holiday. A well stocked supermarket and excellent boulangerie were only five mins drive away. Having fishing on site was an added bonus although we were unable to coax the fish to bite. The pool was clean and given the time of year surprisingly warm and the gardens were great for games and BBQs. Parking was convenient and safe. I would have no hesitation in recommending the accommodation to anybody wanting a relaxing holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of France.
