A Wonderful Stay in Kennington

Lesleyjo Calgary, Canada
Review Submitted: October 1, 2007 Date of Stay: September 2007
We stayed in this lovely little flat for 5 nights in September, 2007, and had an excellent time. Simon, the owner of the flat, was very friendly and helpful, and a pleasure to chat with. The studio itself is delightfully decorated and cozy, with a comfy queen sized bed and couch for lounging. The kitchen is bright and cheerful, and is very well stocked with utensils to make cooking meals very easy. The bathroom is a little smaller than expected, but it was all we really needed for our stay.
The walk to the Kennington Tube Station is a breeze, and takes less than 2 minutes to get there. We were in Central London for sightseeing in less than 15 minutes altogether, so the location of Kennington is fantastic!
We walked with ease to the Tesco nearby for groceries, as it was not even a 10 minute walk, and there are numerous restaurants and pubs in the area, many of which Simon was able to recommend to us.
All in All, we had a wonderful stay, and we will definately return for another stay sometime soon!

Lovely, clean, very central - fully recommended

I can fully recommend this property. I really enjoyed my stay there and felt very much at home. It is very good value for money, very centrally located and less than a minute to walk to the tube station. It is cosy, and it has a personal touch about it, which I liked a lot. The bathroom is fairly small, but this is compensated by the shower. It is wonderfully powerful, which is great after a day of walking around and sightseeing. Simon, the owner, is really friendly, helpful and welcoming and totally uncomplicated. I would definitely recommend this flat to my friends and already have recommended it to my uncle.

Comfortable charm

Review Submitted: April 11, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
Stayed in October 2008 (Sorry for the delay, Simon!) after two weeks in a tiny studio in Paris. Loved the space in this and all the amenities. This was my seventh trip to London in three years, each time located in a different neighborhood. Loved this non-touristy, but very handy setting and ease to tube. Nice to explore a part of London I know less well. Charming host. Recommend highly.

Highly Recommended

Review Submitted: April 4, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
I've stayed in several holiday flats in London, and would certainly say that this is the best I've seen. Simon takes great care to ensure that his guests are comfortable. His attention to detail is impressive, with everything you need thoughtfully provided. He includes a comprehensive information pack containing everything from info in the local area, to manuals for the appliances. The flat itself is private, comfortable, and inviting, unlike some of the rather cold, impersonal rentals I've stayed in before. Its location cannot be better, really close to the tube station and just a short trip to the West End. If you're looking for a place to stay in London, you won't go wrong with this one.

Amazing rental

I would like to say that this rental is amazingly GREAT, not only is it in a great location and conviniently located to the subway (literally a few steps). Shopping and restaurants are so close its great!!! The best part is Simon, he is a gracious and informative that he makes the stay feel warm and cozy. The house feels like you are in a 5 star resort, "amazing decor Simon." When we go back to London which is an amazing city on its own I will always come back to this property. We loved it and hope we were great tenants. Thank you Simon.

Far From the Maddening Crowd

Gloria Jean New York, NY
Review Submitted: February 24, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Nestled in Kennington, far from the maddening crowd of the city, lies this beautiful flat. And yet, it is only 20 minutes by Tube to the West End. The flat is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean and Simon, our host, is more than happy to assist with any and all quesitons. This is a residentail area, so there really is not much to do in the immediate area, but a short walk, or a jump on the Tube will take you to a livelier neighborhood. I highly recommend this flat. It is not recommended for people who have trouble navigating stairs, as this flat is 5 or 6 stairs below street level.

Couldn't be better

This small apartment is ideal for one person or for a couple. It is beautifully presented and the friendly owner, while not at all intrusive, went out of his way to be helpful. Public transport is very easy to negotiate from here and food shopping is also not a problem. From the apartment door to the tourist hot spots takes very little time. The bed is comfortable, the sheets were changed mid-week, there was plenty of hot water in the bath room, the washing machine worked, the kitchen has all that is needed for simple cooking and the price is very reasonable. What more could you ask for?

Comfy apartment ideal for London Sightseeing

Trevor & Heather Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Review Submitted: November 19, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
This is a lovely studio apartment with a very functional kitchen and all the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay on the outskirts of inner London.

It has everything for full self-catering and is only a short walk away from a 24-hour supermarket. The bed is very comfortable and the main living area and kitchen quite roomy. It is quite private with its own entrance on the ground floor beneath the owner's (Simon) house and only a couple of minutes stroll to the Kenningtom tube station. Buses are also close handy so public transport makes a car unnecessary unless travel outside of greater London is intended. If you do have a car, Simon, the owner, can provide permits for on-street parking at 3.50 GBP per day.

The only aspects that we could suggest are less than ideal were that the washing machine is located in a small alcove that required some crouching to access. The bathroom (which included the toilet) was somewhat cramped and occasionally we could hear footfalls from upstairs. However, these presented us with no real issues.

We didn't come across too much in the way of local eateries (outside of pubs or bars) but found the Black Sheep Inn on the other side of Kennington Park a friendly place for a pint and nice pub meal at good prices.

Simon was a very helpful and friendly host and provided plenty of maps and tourist pamphletts.

This apartment represents exceptional value and we would definitely stay here again on any future visits to London.
