Just wonderful!

We had the most fantastic time at Villa Lelia during May 2009. In fact, we liked it so much that we decided to extend for another week and spent nearly 3 weeks there! The house, the (well attended) pool and gardens as well as the perfect location makes for an unforgetable holiday. As the previous review suggests, during the day there are things to do for everyone and upon return to the villa in the evening we enjoyed a dip in the pool, a glass of wine and a lovely BBQ ... bliss! Our 4 year old daughter enjoyed the pool the most and our dog loved the enclosed gardens. We can highly recommend Villa Lelia and the owners are lovely to deal with and have provided a first class information pack. We also very much appreciated the courtesy fridge contents upon arrival! We will definitely be back for another holiday very soon! Thank you for a great experience!

Lovely area and outstanding views

We stayed here in June 2009. Mike provided good relevant local information prior to our departure. The views from the villa are wonderful, as is the pool and the area in which to have dinner al fresco - where we spent many a pleasant evening. The villa is very well equipped particularly in the kitchen where we found every item we needed for all occasions. Having stayed in poorly equipped self catering places before this was appreciated. The property was clean and easy to maintain during our stay. It got very hot for several nights during our stay and I feel the property might benefit from some air con, as I would imagine it might get a little too warm for comfort during the latter summer months. Other than that however, I can think of no room for improvement. It is well located to discover the stunning countryside and coast, and we enjoyed several day trips to Antibes, Grasse and St Tropez. We had a lovely time and would anticipate a return at some point in the future.

Owner's Response: Regarding our guest's comment on air con, the villa is equipped with a portable air conditioning unit.

We stayed at Villa Lelia in August 2008 with two teenage sons, we had the best holiday ever! The area had something for everyone, great location, pool, very helpful housekeeper, excellent information pack from owners and the villa was ABSOLUTELY first class in every way! The day we arrived home, I immediately re-booked for 2009! .....peeling paint comment; if you want new plaster - rent a wimpey home!

Returning to book for a second year, I was so surprised to read the family's comments that I really had to respond - as it sounds like a completely different place! The villa is beautiful, inside and out, tastefully furnished, well-equipped and comfortable. The views are fantastic and it's a great location. I noticed some cracks in the plaster but that's to be expected in a hot climate and it certainly hasn't put me off going again. I travel extensively both for work and pleasure and this definitely is somewhere I will return to, a real home from home and in addition I think it's great value for money.

Beautiful outside but old inside

Review Submitted: January 9, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
We spent one week at Villa Lelia in Sept 08. The outside is really stunning as it can be seen on the photos. The inside to our surprise looked really in need of a renovation: cracks in the walls, paint flaking off etc. We felt that the high price was not quite justified. The location, however, is excellent to explore the Cote d' Azur.

Owner's Response: We were surprised to receive this feedback four months after 'Thefamiliy's' visit since they did not mention anything at the time. All houses in the South of France have cracks owing to the hot, dry climate. They open in summer and close in winter but are not serious or indicative of any decline. There is a small area of flaking paint by the front door but our agent has advised that it does not need attention yet. This is the first negative comment that we have received. Other guests are returning this summer for the second and third year running.

We spent two wonderful weeks in your beautiful villa. Everything - inside and outside, including the surroundings - were far above our expectations! The villa is tastefully equipped, the garden and terrace wonderful with its flowers and trees, all perfectly attended once a week.
Thank you! Hege and Tore
