Heliades Revisited

The Cornish Connection Camborne, Cornwall.
Review Submitted: October 11, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We have been going to Kefalonia for a number of years and have stayed in a variety of accommodation. Last year we travelled with another couple and stayed at Villa Heliades for the first time. All four of us had a wonderful holiday and felt very at home in the Villa. This year Carol and I returned to Heliades for two weeks and had another brilliant time. The villa is so well appointed, convenient for travelling to and from the airport and sited in an area central enough to reach other parts of the island easily. The views from the balcony are ever changing and take in the land leading down to the sea and a broad sweep of the Ionian sea. The pictures on this website are truely representative of the quality of the accommodation but it has to be experienced to be appreciated. Tony and Trudi have been very helpful and obliging in assisting us with arrangements for both holidays, provided welcome packs on arrival and been interested to hear of our experiences post-holiday. The services of the local representatives have been first class with the appartment and pool being kept very clean and tidy.
The village of Kaligata is a traditional Kefalonian village and very picturesque. The village folk are very friendly and appreciate it if you at least try some Greek language , if just in greeting.
Everyone has their own favorite bit of Kefalonia and you can gain a wealth of information on the local area and wider island destinations, by reading the guest comments book.
Whatever your interests or lifestyle you will be able to follow them whilst based at Villa Heliades in the knowledge that at the end of the day you will be returning to a very comfortable base.
We certainly will be back to Kefalonia as the Island is fast becoming our second home. We also intend to stay again at Heliades because we know it has everything we need and we can therefore focus on enjoying our holiday.
We can thoroughly recommend Villa Heliades as a good-value, quality base for your holiday in kefalonia.
Our thanks to Tony and Trudi for giving us the opportunity to share their holiday home.

Everything was perfect

Review Submitted: September 14, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We were hoping for a fantastic time in kefalonia but this holiday was better than we could have ever imagined and exceeded all our expectations. The villa was ideal, it looked good on the website and we were not disappointed. It was very well equipped and laid out and the veiw from the balconies is spectacular. The location of the villa in a little village, at the end of a little lane was ideal so quiet and relaxing. It was well placed for short drives to so many other locations. The villa and pool were spotless being regularly cleaned by the friendly team. We would definitly recommend this property and we intend to return to this villa in 2011! Beaches we would revisit are St. Thomas - very quiet and good for snorkeling, Antisamos - spectacular scenery and snorkeling, Avithos and Ammes beaches were very close with good facilities. Scuba diving with Steve at Lassi "try a dive" is an experience not to be missed. Assos was beatiful and next time we go we intend to spend more time exploring here. We had good food at various places including the 2 taverners at Avithos beach, Spiros in Svoronata and Kastros at the castle. Beach cafes we found were excellent value for lunch and drinks. We are very grateful to the owners Tony and Trudi for all the advice and information that we received from them before we went to spend time at their wonderful home in the sun. An ideal place to relax and unwind, reccomend the Robola wine and Mythos beer!!!

Villa Heliades - Kefalonia

Review Submitted: July 20, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Just returned from 2 weeks at the Villa Heliades . The villa was everything and more than we imagined - just perfect.

It was spotlessly clean and the garden and pool area beautifully maintained.

The whole villa was extremely comfortable and brilliantly equipped - especially the kitchen, which was better fitted out than our own!

Spent many hours in the pool and made good use of the great BBQ area.

The view from the balcony was stunning. The photos of the view are soon to be downloaded as screen savers to get us through the winter.

The customer service provided by the owners was first class. In particular, the information sent out to us prior to our departure. The directions and diagrams were easy to follow and much appreciated.

We spent many days touring the island and in particular enjoyed our days at Assos and Sami. The beaches are excellent, especially, if you find the smaller quieter ones - great for snorkelling.

Had a great afternoon diving with Steve from Diving in Kefalonia based in Lassi.

We would, without any hesitation, recommend the property to our friends.

Hope to visit Kefalonia again soon and will definitely be staying at Villa Heliades.

We had a fantastic week in May, perfect weather whilst it was raining in England, and the island was quite quiet. We had some lovely local food, both out in restaurants and cooked at the well equipt apartment with food from the market in town. Our daughter was delighted to see the turtles and to see octopus and sea snakes when she was snorkelling. The sea was beautiful and very warm to swim in. The view from the apartment is fabulous, and the swimming pool very enticing.
The apartment is well maintained, and kept spotless by a lovely cleaning lady, who is full of local knowledge. We enjoyed the walk down to the local beach and the tavernas there, and more adventurous trips up around the mountain roads, even stopping to sit on kitchen chairs tied on to the outside of the crash barrier of a high bend near the top of one great high passes. The view was spectacular!!! It was a great holiday, very restful and definitely one to recommend. Thank you.

Perfect

Review Submitted: July 30, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We stayed here for two weeks in July 08. Two adults and two teenage girls. The villa was perfect and the views from the balcony superb. During our stay we had a barn owl land on the balcony and watched a pair of pine martens playing in the garden one evening. Magical!
Our favourite beach was Avithos which is a couple of kilometers down the hill - it was beautifully clean and quiet and the two tavernas there were excellent. Lassi beach (15 minutes by car) was much busier but good for snorkelling. The girls tried scuba diving with Steve at 'Try a Dive' in Lassi - they loved it and are desperate to go back and do the whole PADI qualification. Argostoli (10 minutes by car) was lovely in the evenings - lots of excellent restaurants. The main sqauare comes to life at night and is a great place for people watching. There are turtles in the harbour there that you can see in the mornings - beside the fruit/veg market.
A fabulous holiday in beautiful villa - we will definitely be back.

Villa Heliades - Wonderful !

The villa is wonderful and it was well worth the 12 month wait to get there!

You have done a great job setting everything up, and the accommodation and all that goes with it are second to none - we already had high expectations, but these were just blown away by what we experienced.
It was lovely to feel that we were in a home from home, you have thought so carefully about all the things that are needed when on a self catering holiday, and it made it so easy for us especially with the two boys.
Finally, thank you again for providing such a lovely holiday environment - it's faultless and has everything you need for a relaxing break. I'm sure we will be back.

VILLA HELIADES, KEFALONIA

Helen & Ian YORKSHIRE
Review Submitted: June 29, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We stayed in Villa Heliades for one week last year, and loved it so much we are going back again for two weeks this year! This was our first visit to Greece, and Kefalonia was even more beautiful than I imagined it would be! I can see why people rave about the island!
Villa Heliades is in a tranquil spot with spectacular views over the lemon groves out towards the sea. (the photos at www.villaheliades.com are a good representation). The newly built villa is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style with air conditioning etc, carefully maintained by a local management company and the pool is a very welcome respite from the heat. Sigghhh...There was even a welcome pack on our arrival!
We aranged a hire car through Ainos Travel office in Argostoli (who are very obliging) which was essential if you want to explore the island with all its secluded beaches and atmospheric tavernas. There are a few lively beaches which appealed to our teenagers as there was more 'going on' although most of the smaller beaches were deserted! For the most delicious home-baked cakes, along with spectacular views visit 'Kastro' a small taverna run by an Englishwoman and her Greek husband, which is just a short drive from the Villa. You'll keep going back!

One week wasn't long enough to relax AND explore the island. There is so much to see and visit if you can be drawn away from beside the villa's pool! It was a dream holiday which I look forward to experiencing again-very soon!
