Get Away From It All..and enjoy the peace & quiet

We have just spent a fantastic fortnight in this wonderful place. Peace, tranquility and a relaxing time ...... That's what we wanted and that's exactly what we got. A big thanks to Kevin and Birte for finding us up on the top road and for a lovely warm welcome. The house has been lovely with everything we needed provided, as well as being cool and comfortable. The swimming pool has been the "jewel in the crown" and has been used everyday, an absolute must for kids. Plenty of fresh local produce on the BBQ and lots of Al Fresco eating and drinking has been a delight. A few day trips and all of the local markets have also been enjoyable. Sadly, it's time to go home and lose a few pounds. "A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY ! "

Excellent villa and facilities

George IV Brighton, England
Review Submitted: July 5, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Le Mayrinet is located deep in rural France but the local roads are good and it was easy to get to interesting places (eg Toulouse, Carcassone), the airport and the Autoroute network (only 1/2 hour away).
Small children will love the animal/adventure park nearby; older ones the all-day canoeing facilities on the Tarn/Garonne.
The villa is very well-furnished with clearly a lot of thought and effort having been made by Birte to make it homely.
The swimming pool is suitable for small children as well as adults; it is shared with the family but we had it to ourselves on all but two days of our 13 day stay.
There are plenty of shady areas outside for eating and relaxing.
The market at Grenade (Saturday) was very good and the town itself has two charcuteries with some excellent prepared meals (stock up on Saturday because many shops in France close on Sunday and Monday). The local baker (10 mins away) helpfully sells petrol/diesel as well as bread.
Birte and Kevin were friendly and always happy to help with organising outings etc but were never intrusive.
We'll definitely go back!

Holiday review

Review Submitted: April 15, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2007
We had a great 2 week holiday here last year in August, with friends. The facilities were superb and gave real value for money. There were all sorts of places to sit outside, both in the sun and shade, and the swimming pool was one of the best we have used. The house was charming, with plenty of character and all you could want in a holiday home. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel at ease - if it wasn't for the fact that it isn't in the most accessible part of France to drive to, we would return!
Owner's Response: We appreciate very much your positive comments about our property. We do live about 1000 Km from the North coast of France, towards the South (1 1/2 hours from Spain, 2 hours from the Mediterranean Sea), which brings with it the advantage of hot weather in the summer. For guests who prefer not to drive a long distance in France, we would recommend flying to Toulouse Blagnac International airport, and then, to get a hire car to drive to our property which is 38 Km from the airport.
