Superb house and view + fantastic service

Rental period: 2 weeks in April 2008.
Never tried private rentals outside our home country, but this isn't the last time. Both house and sorroundings was here very well maintained and service provided by our freindly property keepers was extra ordinary. You will not be dissapointed! Even the mail correspondance, contract signing and payment process made us feel very comfortable. All over we experienced high attention from our property keepers if we had any querys or things to be sorted out.
The way to the house is good untill 3 km before - here starts a private road with rough concrete and steep hills. Rent a semi 4x4 (e.g. Nissan Qashqai). The stone path to the house is very beautiful with various plants. The house is very private and view over mountains and sea is amazing. The terraces (3) are well equiped and pool was clean and fresh! House is very spacious (with complete new patio), tasteful equiped and standard is very high all over. We as a young critical family give our best recommandations for a safe and joyful holdiday.

Owner's Response: As the booking agent and customer liason for Villa Mimosa it is a real pleasure to have our work so highly praised by our first Danish guests - who were a married couple in their early thirties with a lovely 9 month old daughter.

I would like to add to Thomas's comments re the access that I drive to the villa in a standard Ford Mondeo and that the Majority of out guests rent cars like Ford Focus, Seat Ibiza, Peugot 207 etc and we have never had any guests encounter any access issues.( Borne out by the fact that Thomas recommends the villa for a "Safe" Holiday and is prepared to recomend us to friends and family). So I think that the sugestion of a small 4x4 may be a little of an overkill.

We stayed here for 10 days last April and had a wonderful time. The villa is set in a lovely location on a hillside with great views down to the sea. Boz and Polly were very helpful, meeting us to show us the way to the villa and telling us about the local area. The villa is spacious and the glassed in area is a bonus in wet weather(only one day!). We loved the pool area and the outside eating areas. The villa really has everything you need and is very clean and very comfortable. It really is a home from home. The area is great for walking and there are laminated sheets in the villa with walks to follow, some actually from the villa itself. The narrow road to the villa is no problem (we had a small economy hire car) However, you can't really walk into Frigiliana easily in the evening- a bit too far and you would need a torch in the dark. It is a lovely village and Nerja has a very good beach. There are other nice villages around - Competa is charming. We had already been to Granada but it is easily accessible from the villa. There are good restaurants in Frigiliana and all the necessary shops. There are frequent buses to Nerja.
I have no hesitation in recommending this villa to others - it is one of the best, if not the best, that we have stayed in. A super place to stay!!

What a wounderful place to be! We are a family of 4 with a teenager (15) and a teenager-to-be (12) and we have nothing but good to say about this property. The picture doesn't give you half of what it is really. Ask for more recent pics) Very private, very confortable, nice design and decoration to invite you to relax and a view to die for. We've been renting houses in North America and Europe for the past 10 years and this one is the best by far. Everything is impeccable even Martha Stewart would be happy here! As someonelse already mentionned, I also never relaxed that much during a vacation. Close enough to go to different beaches, Malaga, Grenada and Antequera or just stay home enjoying the pool and pay a visit to Nerja for the evening (10 min ride). Boz and Polly are amazing and so helpful. The villa is always impeccable with the good work of the gardeners, the pool person and the cleaning team. The 3km path to get to the villa is yes tricky but it was part of the fun and the price to pay to get this kind of peace. We had a regular car (not a 4x4) and it was fine. I personnally didn't want to drive it but it never stopped us to do what we wanted and the benefits definitly outweight the risks! we had the bonus of finding a kitten who adopted the kids and made this journey even more memorable. Thank you for sharing this little peace of heaven.

This villa has been modified from current picture with a wonderful glassed in area around 2 sides.I have never been so relaxed after a weeks holiday.Views to die for.
This is not just a rental home but the owners home from home and you feeel welcomed with all necessary items one could want on holiday. We have been on holidays since days of Freddie Laker and have stayed in a lot of places but this is the best we have stayed in.The owners have in place the necessary people looking after villa and maintaining its pristine condition.Boz and Polly will meet and greet and as they live near by are a great wealth of knowledge of area and very happy to oblige in any way they can.
The bar El Cerro nearby has one of best views you can imagine and very good food.
We were just happy to eat around outside bar b que area and enjoy surroundings.
I would not hesitate in recommending this property.

As seasoned renters, it's refreshing to experience the kind of thought and effort that goes into a property like this. Besides the high standards enjoyed in this rental, we were fortunate to meet the owners, Paul and Christine; Boz and Polly ...... and lovely neighbours, Billy, Christine and Rusty

Perfect peace

From the moment we turned off the main road after passing through Frigiliana we knew we'd found something special. We'd had several holidays in and around Nerja and whilst we love the area we were looking for something a bit more special and off the beaten track, but without being cut off from everything, and boy did we find it.
Mimosa is beautiful, the location, the views, the villa itself all want for nothing. Keeping the kids out of the pool was harrd enough, even at night when we ate outdoors they were in and out until finally it was time for bed.
Spotlessly clean, and help and advice always available when required we couldn't have wished for more.
I'm sure we'll be back, if not next year, then very soon.

We loved our stay so much that we would have liked to have bought the property!! The villa is beautiful, spotlessly clean and lots of room for our teenage daughter & ourselves. We particularly enjoyed the outside space even in March. Very quiet position but convenient for Frigiliana, Nerja & the motorway to the airport. Nothing was too much trouble for Boz & Polly, the caretakers.

"We love Mimosa" :)

Halla,Gústi & Hafnarfjörður - Iceland
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay:
We are family - two adults and two boys (3&6yrs) - from Iceland and we were so lucky to "find" Villa Mimosa and stay there for 6 weeks last summer (2007). We love to stay private and have a good surroundings for our boys and in a few words, Mimosa was perfect for us. All circumstances very good, the house very clean, well maintained and all accommodation very good (tastefully decorated). The description is accurate, you know what you get and the service from our great Boz & Polly was fabulous! :) It is privilege to have them around. It is necessary to have a car and there are a lot of attractions and great restaurants in and around Frigiliana,Nerja, the Hills, the beach...etc.(We like Frigiliana very much). Our favourite at the house, was the "outdoor kitchen" were we spent a lot of time and we even got our friends, one evening over for a bbq....a lot of fun :) So it feels like home, ( you got everything you need) - but it is only better! :)
So thanks for everything dear Boz & Polly - we'll always come back !! :) Maybe it says everything that we are coming for the third summer in a row, now next June...and of course renting trough Boz & Polly.
Best regards - Halla,Gústi and "the boys" - Iceland.
