Here are just a few comments from people who have stayed at Elysium apartments, you are welcome to view the comments book at any time during your stay with us.

'I have travelled all over the world and rarely have I met more hospitable and helpful hosts than Gemma and Des. As for the immaculate accommodation and breathtaking surroundings it's all you need. And all you'll ever need. Elysium could not come with a warmer recommendation' Hanne Klintoe
'Thank you both so much for enabling us to have such a marvellous break. It could not have been a better holiday. You did your best to make our stay easy, your apartment was pristine and your property so beautifully maintained-everything was perfect.' Janet and Neale Gordon.
'We love Corfu, we love Paleokastritsa, we pre booked our holiday at the Elysium apartments because of the view, the location and the external look of the apartments. Thanks so much Des and Gemma-this has been the best holiday ever.' Lin and Bob Kerner.

totally amazing scenery

wonderful owners, incredibly hospitable and helpful.

studio is spotlessly clean and well equipped for self catering

lots to do and places to visit

if you don't hire a car the local bus is reliable for trips to corfu town where you can get ferry trips and connections to other resorts

for walkers there are interesting places to find with directions well marked, including lovely secluded beaches

boat trips and diving available in the resort

Highly recommended

Elysium Apartments

Des and Gemma's apartments are set in a hillside paradise overlooking a deep blue bay and olive tree covered hills that run down to the sea. They are spotlessly clean and have a stunning garden. The resort is full of taverners, enough to eat at a different taverner every night for a 14 night stay. There are a few small beaches nearby and also beaches that are accessed by water taxis, the main beach has 3 great taverners that almost overhang the sea with direct access from the beach and great Moussaka and Greek salads. The local wines are very drinkable and the olives are a pure delight. I wanted to spend a whole week without driving, too many days spent in England stuck on the M27, so we walked everywhere, this way we saw the olive groves, the mountain goat paths, the villages and the endless views from the tops of the cliffs. I have recommended Des and Gemma's apartments to friends and relatives and hope to get back there again next year.

An apartment with a fabulous view !

Perched on a mountainside, a hundred feet above the main road of Paleokastritsa, the access to Elysium Apartments is by a steep, zigzag jeepable ramp followed by a long flight of shaded steps.

The well kept lawn of the front garden with the trimmed olive tree providing a huge sun shade, forms the framework of a most breathtaking picture... that of dark green forested hills emerging from the turquoise Ionian Sea!

The apartments are located in a smartly renovated Greek house. They are well appointed and in a spotlessly spick and span condition! All services such as air-conditioning, lights & fans, hot & cold water, fridge etc. work flawlessly.

Gemma and Des, the owners, are a likeable English couple, who go out of their way to provide all help and comfort to their guests. Indeed, Des did an amazing patch-up job on our rented car which met with a minor accident.

Paleokastritsa is one of the most beautiful resorts in Greece, with beaches, mountains, grottos, water sports, boat rides, tavernas and restaurants, mini-markets etc., all within easy walking distance of Elysium Apartments.

We really enjoyed our week in Corfu and would certainly recommend Elysium Apartments to anyone visiting Corfu.

We are a mature couple who stayed in one of the studios in October 2009. We had an excellent holiday. The studio was small but adequate and very well maintained. The steps up were a good source of exercise - 89 to our front door!, but well worth the climb as the view is amazing.Gemma and Des were fantastic hosts and very sociable. They have thought of everything and nothing is a bother to them. The resort is very good, we tried a few of the local restaurants which were excellent, very greek and resonably priced. We did hire a car for a couple of days, but to be honest, everything you need is in Paleokastritas. We would certainly recommend this holiday and would definatley return, it is a beautiful resort. Thankyou, Brian and Eunice.

Studio Apartments

The studio apartments are fabulous, we stayed there for a week and would definitely go back. The description provided is accurate if not a little modest. The location is great because, you are within walking distance of everything you need, from bus stops to grocery shops. The views from the communal garden at the apartments are breathtaking. The owners Des & Gemma were so friendly and so helpful, they really helped us get the most from our holiday. Paleokastritsa is a really great place to stay, it is a very picturesque and pretty part of the world, there are lots of great restaurants and bars as well as beautiful beaches. Paleokastritsa also has a lot of historical sites which are very worth seeing, we visited the local Monastery and the castle Angelocastro which is a beautiful Byzantine Castle built on the top of a cliff. You can get the bus into Corfu Town for a few euros which is also worth doing. Another place we would recommend visiting a is this really authentic Greek town up on the hillside called Lacones because it is fabulous. All in all the place is great, we had an amazing time and we would both recommend this to anyone.

We really hope this helps you make your decision.
Best wished Beth & James

We had a great holiday, Des and Gemma were excellent hosts, very welcoming and genuine people and helped us more than they could know. The accomodation was spotless and well presented and the welcome pack was full of really useful information. The views from the apartment are amazing and well worth the climb up the steps to appreciate. It is a very relaxed and peaceful location with everything you need within easy walking distance. Thank you both once again for looking after us. Good luck in the future. All the best

A perfect place to explore Corfu from.

We have just returned from our 3rd year staying at the Elysium apartments and have to say the standards set by the owners Des and Gemma are some of the highest you will find on Corfu ( and many other places we have visited around the world ), and they both work exceedingly hard to maintain this. The studios are kept immaculate and nothing is too much trouble for them whether it be advice on local amenities, must see places on the island, or replacing a light bulb in the apartment! The location and view, when you have managed the incline that is stated in the information guide, will blow you away. . There is no view like it. Last year our 23 year old daughter came with us and she spent a week walking about in a daze at the spectacular scenery that Paleo offers, it is the most beautiful spot on the island for a chilled, laid back, peaceful holiday. As stated in other reviews, there are ample restaurants and bars within a 5-10 minute walk to satisfy your needs and there are plenty of apartment complexes locally where you can use the pool for the price of a few drinks and snacks. A must for us is to hire a boat for a day from one of the many local operators and explore the bay and hidden beaches that can't be seen from land.. Back to the apartments, you will want for nothing, the welcome pack includes a bottle of wine, bread, milk, breakfast cereals..everything that you would need upon arrival and a bit more to help your stay get off to a great start and continue that way.The kitchen is equipped with all the required utensils to cook a meal, although we just used it for breakfasts as eating out is all part of he Greek experience. The rooms are cleaned twice a week, whether it needs it or not!, including fresh bedding and towels. We are already looking forward to our return next year with our daughter and grand daughter as we know that a holiday in Paleo, and staying at the Elysium apartments, is something special thanks to Des and Gemma.

Paleokastritsa sama o sobe je uzasne misto a umisteni tohoto apartmanu to umocnuje. Kazde rano se musite pohledem presvedcit, ze to nebyl sen a ze je to pravda - hory, more, zatoky, obloha, olivovniky.........Staci pohled z terasy a mate to jako na dlani / fotky na internetu nelzou /.Kdyz k tomu pridate neobycejne mile a pratelske majitele nemovitosti, kteri osobne poskytuji neskutecne dokonaly servis, nemuzeme doporucit nic jineho, nez abyste to taky u Gemmy a Desmonda zkusili. Byli jsme moc spokojeni ! Lenka a Pavel z Vizovic / CR

We (couple with 8-year-old son) had a fantastic two weeks staying at beautiful Elysium and would highly recommend it. The owners Des and Gemma are absolute stars - they keep the accommodation spotless and nothing is too much trouble. There's a steep climb to get up to the apt from the road (so wouldn't recommend this for people with walking difficulties or buggies) but it's well worth it: the views are priceless. It's a short walk along a pavement-less road to the nearest pebbly beach, which has two excellent beach bars for lunch/sunset drinks and snacks. There's a small supermarket with all the essentials near the beach. Further along you'll find more beaches - quite a walk to get to the furthest, but you can hire boat taxis. Loads of great tavernas. We all loved it so much, we've booked to go again next year - mainly because our stay at the Elysium apartments was so perfect.
