Peace and Tranqulity Found

Picture this.
Arriving on a warm Septembers night, having wound our way through the quiet country lanes of Clonakilty we arrived at Baligalana.
We were greeted by our family who had arrived earlier. We walked through a clean spacious and cosy home and out of the rear patio doors on to a balcony. With glass of wine in hand we listened to the ocean whilst enjoying the spectacular starry skys that are clear of light pollution.
The next morning I woke to fresh brewed coffee which I took outside The first view of the Atlantic took our breaths way. Seaspray is in the most stunning location.
The immediate area is safe and quiet. The local town of Clonakilty provides everything needed to satisfy your stay.
Seaspray itself is fully equipt and everthing we needed was available.
There is so much to do and see around this part of Cork if, you can drag yourself away from seaspray.
Doris the owner, must pride herself on making every family that stays her own personal guests, she is a lovely lady and most welcoming.
Finally those that come to Ireland to try a real pint of Guinness, you will not be disappointed. We, on your behalf, have tried the liquid gold in several local pubs. I am satisfied to say that we could not find a bad pint.
Enjoy your stay at Seaspray we did, and we will be back very soon.

Sea Spray Cottage is GREAT!

My husband, 2.5 and .5 year old children really enjoyed our stay at Sea Spray. The house was plenty big (we didn't use two bedrooms at all) and comfortable for our family to stretch out and relax during a very rainy week in Co Cork. The views were spectacular! We spotted dolphins from the kitchen window. Bring your own binoculars as there is always something great to see. Neighbor, Nancy, lent us hers - she's delightful. Lovely place, lovely people. Nearby Clonakilty provided great shopping and strolling. We visited Blarney while there - about an hours drive - we also visit Union ??, a fishing village just beyond Leap. Purchased the freshest fish and seafood there! The beach is in walking distance with a bit of a climb down - we managed with both children (albeit nervously the first time). Try to plan trip to shop in advance for groceries and peat/wood (first day's paper needs, basic spices and condiments only provided). GREAT rock hunting location. Kitchen appliances a bit aged, but we made do cooking there every day. Cottage was clean, fenced-in cliff/shoreline was perfect to protect our toddler and Doris is fantastic - very open, honest and quick to respond/resolve concerns. We would not only recommend this cottage but would come back again.
Owner's Response: Thank you for this very nice review. Sorry about the plate on the ceramic hob malfunctioning during your stay. It was replaced immediately once the owner was notified.
Comfortable home with amazing views

In July '09, we've spend a week in the home with our 3 kids (age 6-11yr) and enjoyed every minute. Great place to slow down - we didn't need day trips to fill our holiday. We would have loved to stay for another week!
The ocean is only meters away - we couldn't get enough of it (..colors, sound, tides, birds..). Kids had plenty of room to play safely around the house thanks to robust fencing at the shore (as long as they played within approx 200m of the house). Street is a cul de sac with very low trafic.
There are a few very nice and well behaving dogs in the neighborhood - they popped by every now and then. The kids loved it and had lots of fun while entertaining them. (ps: normally we don't like dogs at all)
House is very comfortable and complete. Quality of beds is good Interior is nice and cozy. Description by the home owner is precise, cleaning average to good. Value for money, what you see is what you get, would highly recommend this place to friends.
We loved Red Strand and the beach of Inchydony Island.

We had a weeks holiday at 'Sea Spray Cottage' and would highly recommend it. It is equipped with everything you need and was very clean and tidy, the owner, Doris, is nice and friendly and replies promptly to any correspondence. You have stunning views of the sea and its surroundings from all the windows at the back of the property. The location is great for exploring or you can just stay there and chill out watching and listening to the sea. The beach is close by, the kids loved the rock pools. We had a fantastic holiday and didn't want to leave. A holiday full of lovely memories.

My wife and I stayed for a short honeymoon in March and loved this beautiful cottage. The views from the house are amazing. You can look out over the ocean from the kitchen,dining room, living room, or master bedroom. Theres a really nice porch out front attached to the living room thats just a perfect spot to eat and enjoy a glass of wine. The house was very clean, and Doris the owner did a great job decorating. She was very nice, and everything was as she said. The vibrant town of Clonakilty is not too far. It was loaded with restauraunts, pubs, and shopping. Thank you Doris and Tim for sharing your little paradise with all of us. We hope to make it back soon. I would recommend Sea-Spray to all who ask..

Was wir suchten? Ein traumhaftes Haus so gemütlich und ausgestattet wie zu Hause mit viel Platz für unsere drei Kinder und uns! Mit unendlichem Blick auf das Meer und eine grüne Landzunge mit hier und da einem weiteren Haus in der Ferne. Ruhe und Relaxen und Familienleben ohne Ende : Mit Ritchie als Teilzeithund, der vorbeikam, um zu gucken, ob wir Zeit zum Stöckchenwerfen oder Spielen in der kleinen Bucht nahebei hatten. Super Einkaufsmöglichkeit in Clonakilty und Kultur rundherum, wenn wir Lust auf einen Ausflug hatten. Unbedingt Besuchen; Kitty Mac´s Pub in Ring! Und ein Fernglas mitbringen, um die Vögelvielfalt zu beobachten! Faire Vermieter, denen ihre Gäste am Herzen liegen und die im Vorfeld schon viele hilfreiche Tipps gaben, fanden wir hier obendrein.

Das Haus liegt direkt oberhalb des Meeres, vor der Terrasse kommt noch ein Grünstreifen von 3m, ein kleiner Zaun und dann die Klippe, das Meer liegt einem zu Füßen! Innen ist das Haus sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, Doris hat ein Händchen für Dekorationen. Bequeme Sofas vor dem offenen Kamin lassen auch einen Regentag angenehm werden (obwohl wir nur einen hatten in dieser Woche).Die Küche ist auch bestens ausgestattet.
Alles ist sauber und gepflegt, sehr empfehlenswert!
