Our holiday in Bruquedalle last year was super, the cottage was exactly as you see the photographs and was spotless.
We were welcomed by James and Laetitia ,both were very helpful and knowledgable.
Laetitia even took us to some super events.

I have listed this cottage as one of my favourite places to stay in France.

Wonderful house, great location, friendly owner

We spent a wonderful week here over the new year 2009. The house was perfect for our needs, with a great garden on the edge of a copse of trees (which the children loved). It was freezing weather but the house was well heated day and night during our stay. The house had a great open fire and a plentiful supply of wood. There was a fire burning in the hearth when we arrived and a bottle of home made cider with cheese and bread left by the owner. Although we didn't do an awful lot of travelling/visiting during our stay we did visit a local market and another interesting old town. WIll certainly be back for more.

Normandy farmhouse

The description of the lay out was as described in the details the only thing I would say is when they say en-suite they really mean a toilet and sink in one of the bedrooms. The property was clean and tidy when we arrived. James was a very friendly welcoming person, There is plenty to do if you have a car and can get out and about, The settings them selves were really beauitful and the towns around the area were lovely, we found everyone in France very helpful and friendly.

i whould suggest to anyone who is thinking of paying the higher rental cost of this gite because a pool is available, look elsewhere as it is only a rubber plunge pool and should be described as such. after a 14 hour drive there was no welcome pack as most other gites. The funiture and fittings were very flimsy for a rental property. not much room for clothes for a gite up to 8 people.
Owner's Response: Ginger 43 Newcastle, I would like to say that the pool is above ground and is shown on the website.
The size of the pool is 5 1/2 metres by 3 1/2 metres and is 1 metre 20 deep and holds 15000 litres of water.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Normandy, staying in this property. We had a wonderful, peaceful holiday and found the cottage to be everything we expected and hoped for. It was well equipped and was in a very picturesque setting. The owners were extremely helpful and we were made to feel very welcome.
We had no complaints whatsoever and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

The property has been renovated to a very high standard and it was a pleasure to spend time in it. The house very picturesque and set in idyllic, peaceful surroundings. There were a host of places to visit within easy travelling.

The gardens have ample space for everyone to enjoy and escape one and another!

James and Laetitia are excellent, knowledgeable, unassuming and pleasant hosts.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bruquedalle and would unreservedley reccommend it to all and sun

I should have done this review sooner seeing as we stayed last year but being back to the grindstone and ones wife having another baby it always seemed to get put to the bottom of the list of things to do. My family and our friends took the easy drive to Bruquedalle last summer and were amazed at how quiet and peacefull the whole area was yet fantastic markets, restaurants and shops were not far away at all. James advice to visit two particular markets was priceless and the fresh meats and cheeses available were great value too. We found ourselves (the adults of the group) enjoying a BBQ most evenings courtesy of our friend who, trust me, knows how to BBQ and downing a not to insignificant amount of local wine, cider and beer on the way. The grounds were more than spacious enough to keep our young children interested and during the rainy days (yes - Bruquedalle had as bad a summer as UK did ) the barn was large enough that they could still run havoc!! The locals were very friendly and my friend established at the very beginning of the stay that if you admitted that your french was 'terrible' (in as much of a french way as possible) to the shopkeepers they would open up to us much better than just shouting at them in English! Alltogether we had a good time and we were only let down by the weather and that we did not discover the cider factory just around the corner until the last day! I still have one bottle left that I am going to open when I next think I deserve a hangover - this cider is not for the faint hearted ! I will definately go back some time.
